Opis:: In this work authors propose to perform an extensive literature review (LR) to elicit all the relevant NoSQL mechanisms, describing them and pointing out the main references. In the first section, they introduce the research methodology where they elicit the main steps to perform a LR. Afterwards, they describe the problem this research intends to help solve. They follow with a LR regarding NoSQL mechanisms and identify and describe the main NoSQL problems. The main contribution concerns that literature searching results are presented in the mind map. Generally, mind mapping is a technique for the concept relations’ visualisation. At the beginning the map is created around a single concept, e.g. NoSQL, which is connected directly to another concept and the other ideas branch out from that. For mind mapping, authors use an open source tool, i.e., Mind Map Maker. Then, they summarize how they evaluate their work. Finally, they conclude about the research and further works.
W artykule autorzy zaproponowali wykonanie obszernych studiów literatury dla przedstawienia konstrukcji środowiska NoSQL, opisali problem i wskazali odnośniki do literatury. W pierwszej części przedstawili metodę badań i opisali etapy studiów literatury jako metody badań. Następnie przedstawili przedmiot badań, zidentyfikowali i opisali główne problemy badawcze. Wyniki badań przedstawili w postaci mapy myśli. Wykorzystali ku temu narzędzie otwarte, tj. Mind Map Maker. Ocenili wyniki i wskazali możliwe dalsze prace badawcze.

Opis:: In the study we present results of two research projects conducted simultaneously at the Faculty of Social Sciences, UWM in Olsztyn referring to the place digital technologies have in the learning processes in the opinions of Early Education students. The results show that the group of surveyed students might be situated on the borderline of digital natives and digital immigrants’ worlds. The conducted survey demonstrated limited trust to digital sources of knowledge amongst students and discrepancy between their personal experiences with using new technology, on a daily basis, and traditional ways of learning proposed by the University. The analysis of the case study indicated that for preparing future teachers to work with children (digital natives), it is important to organize a learning environment in which both worlds – digital and analogue – are connected.

Opis:: This study examines the issue of student essay writing in higher education. The main focus of this research is on the lecturers and writing tutors who wish to help undergraduates in learning foreign languages as well as to enable them to bring improvement in their essay writing skills. Essay writing is critical to academic success; usually, an essay is a piece of writing that systematically analyzes and evaluates a topic or issue. Mind mapping is one of the versatile tools that help to break down the topics into manageable chunks, fire up the brain, and boost creativity. This study focuses on how mind mapping was effectively used as a strategy to support and develop students’ writing skills. The data required for this study was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed with the primary purpose to evaluate the use of mind maps as a pre-writing brainstorming strategy. The statistical techniques used to determine the role of mind mapping in the enhancement of writing skills include one-way ANOVA, Chi-Square test, and Correlation Analysis. The findings of the statistical analysis confirmed that planning an essay before writing with the use of the mind mapping technique helped in writing essays more effectively in their coursework, thereby making essay writing more enjoyable and fun.

Opis:: This paper describes the results of a comparative research into the marketing and product strategies for the conventional MCs of China, India, Japan, Korea and Taiwan-makes. In this work, information from conventional MC manufacturers of these countries is collected on the spot and with the help of a questionnaire to identify the relevant strategies for differentiation. The parameters considered are the target customers, date of delivery, sale price, features of operability, design attributes, after sales service, motivation to purchase, target market segment. Based on these parameters, mind maps are drawn. The differences in the strategies among Japan, Korea and Taiwan manufacturers is that although most of the manufacturers in these countries have employed in-house design and assembly systems, and strongly rely on supply chain management, still the Korean manufacturers maintain the competitiveness through cheaper sales price and shorter delivery time, the Taiwanese manufacturers focus on current customers through cheap pricings but do not pay proper attention to business-oriented-enterprise management; while the Japanese manufacturers are capable of introducing directly opposite attributes in the product design. The Chinese and Indian manufacturers produce machines that are cost effective and focus on the inland market. The delivery time is long due to obsolete manufacturing facilities and sparse competition.

The paper presents the possibilities of computer-aided mind mapping for the creation of a platform of innovation in initial stage of the life cycle of biometric systems. In the first part of the article we present mind map method and information tools to exploit the potential of distributed processing in the implementation of on-demand platform innovation biometric system. In the second part of the article we present the results in terms of implementation and operation of the experimental platform for the development of innovation biometric system that uses dynamic typing.

Opis:: The subject of the analysis is the genesis and evolution of the study of the theory of upbringing as a monistic, orthodox subdiscipline of education sciences and its evolution in Poland towards the differentiation of contemporary theories of upbringing. As a result of the lack of meta-theoretical resolution, I propose my own map to define the concept of upbringing, so that on the basis of Rolland G. Paulston's American geography of thought it would be possible to discern the need to construct theories of upbringing which are adequate to these concepts.
Przedmiotem analizy jest geneza i ewolucja studiów w zakresie teorii wychowania jako monistycznej, ortodoksyjnej subdyscypliny nauk pedagogicznych oraz jej ewolucji w Polsce w kierunku zróżnicowania współczesnych teorii wychowania. W wyniku braku rozstrzygnięć metateoretycznych proponuję własną mapę definiowania pojęcia wychowanie, by na podstawie amerykańskiej geografii myśli Rollanda G. Paulstona możliwe było dostrzeżenie potrzeby konstruowania adekwatnych do tych pojęć teorii wychowania.

Opis:: Celem artykułu jest prezentacja przykładowych rozwiązań w zakresie wizualizacji dźwięku w krajobrazie na mapach „dźwiękowych”. Badania oparto na analizie literatury naukowej i źródeł internetowych oraz ankiecie przeprowadzonej w 2014 r. wśród studentów Uniwersytetu Marii Curie Skłodowskiej (UMCS) w Lublinie. Badanie ankietowe, w którym poproszono o zobrazowanie w dowolnej formie krajobrazu dźwiękowego konkretnego miejsca, a następnie jego opisanie i ocenienie wykazało, że wizualizacja w formie rysunku jest łatwiejsza. Wizualizacja krajobrazu dźwiękowego okazuje się przydatna w dziedzinie projektowania akustycznego na potrzeby rewitalizacji akustycznej. Szczególnie użytecznym narzędziem w zakresie wizualizacji są Geograficzne Systemy Informacyjne (GIS). Wizualizacja dźwięku w krajobrazie na mapie może okazać się ważnym wkładem geografów w badania krajobrazu dźwiękowego. Jednak żadne graficzne wyobrażenie dźwięku w formie linii czy krzywizn nie może zastąpić jego zmysłowego doświadczenia w konkretnym miejscu i czasie.
The aim of the work is to present some example on visualising sound in landscape on sound maps. The paper is based on the analysis of literature, websites and questionnaire survey conducted in 2014 among the students of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin. Students were asked to visualise, in any form, the soundscape of a selected place and then describe and appraise it. It turned out that visualisation in the form of a drawing was easier because people could relate to the perspective it showed. A visualisation of soundscape proves useful for the purposes of acoustic design in acoustic revitalisation. Particularly useful tool in visualisation is GIS. The visualisation of soundscape can become an important contribution of geographers to soundscape studies. However, no visual depiction of sound, in the form of a line or curve, can be a real substitute for the sensual experience of sound at a specific time and place.

Public space research tool for small towns : a case study of Skawina

Opis:: Proste zrozumienie przestrzeni publicznej miasta przez obcych obserwatorów jest bardzo trudne. Są oni jednak coraz częściej zaangażowani w przygotowywanie dokumentów strategicznych i planistycznych dla miast, jako przedstawiciele zewnętrznych firm. Z ich punktu widzenia ważne jest szybkie i dogłębne poznanie lokalnej specyfiki miasta.Celem artykułu jest zaproponowanie narzędzia badania przestrzeni publicznej małych miast, które jest połączeniem trzech metod: pogłębionych wywiadów, map wyobrażeniowych i obserwacji terenowych. Autor przeprowadził 15 wywiadów pogłębionych w Skawinie –satelickim mieście Krakowa. Pozwoliły one zrozumieć funkcjonowanie przestrzeni publicznej (identyfikacja kluczowych problemów, ich zmian w czasie, miejsc ważnych, zaniedbanych itd.). Mapy wyobrażeniowe umiejscowiły odczucia rozmówców, a obserwacje terenowe pozwoliły w lepszy sposób ocenić skalę problemów i lepiej zrozumieć informacje zdobyte podczas wywiadów. Połączenie tych metod dało bardziej trafne wyniki.
The purpose of this article is to propose a research tool which would allow to understand profound and rapidly public space in small towns with its local specifics. The tool is designed for outside experts (“strangers” in analyzed area) involved in the preparation of strategic and planning documents for towns and is combined of three methods: in-depth interviews, mind maps and field observations. The author conducted 15 in- depth interviews in Skawina - a satellite town of Krakow. They allowed to understand the functioning of the public space (identification of important and neglected places, key issues and their changes over time, etc.). Mind maps helped to link certain interviewees' feelings to certain place and field observations allowed to assess the scale of the problems and to better understand the information gained from the interviews. The combination of these three methods gave the most possibly accurate results. The author found the positive relationship between the content of responses and respondents' knowledge, their age and length of residence in Skawina. They were asked about the general attitude towards the town, the functionality of the space (moving around the town), dangerous, neglected and strange places, industrial areas, natural environment, symbolic and characteristic objects and the proposed changes. In general, people were happy to live in Skawina. They appreciated closeness of Krakow and ambiance of a town, where everything is close. The main problem mentioned was the car traffic congestion in central areas which caused in their reduced value - for inhabitants and visitors. Respondents also pointed attractive areas (city park, the nearby riverside and forest areas) - as well as neglected and dangerous ones. Responses on the assessment of industrial areas, the environment and symbolic or characteristic objects were difficult to obtain from interviewees. However, they noticed a positive change in the last few years (including the environment, public security) and proposed needed investments. Among the disadvantages of the presented tools are: in a certain sense, the inability to ensure the representativeness, subjectivism - depends on how well the researcher will interpret the data, and the strong dependency of the results on a good selection of interviewees (the more important and different information they can provide, the better). The advantages are: low cost and short time of research, the enormity of information gained - diversity of opinion, the ability to interact with interviewees which allows for a thorough understanding and more accurate results than in case of less developed tools (like in-depth interviews themselves)

In this paper, the way of providing subject Methodology of Study is presented. This subject is placed at the first semester of electrical engineering programme in the frame of social-economic-humanistic group. Application of e-learning methods has been described to indicate their role to increase the attractiveness and facilitation of current evaluation. The use of student’s and teacher’s panels of the university educational portal is explained. A few examples of tests and their results are published. As the conclusions some students opinions of this subject realization are quoted.

Creativity of the group of employees based on the analysis of team mind maps

Opis:: Dokonując przeglądu literatury dedykowanej zjawisku kreatywności na gruncie zarządzania, zauważyć można dominującą perspektywę jednostek. Na ogół perspektywa zespołu nie zostaje uwzględniona. Biorąc pod uwagę, że na kreatywność zespołową oddziałuje wiele powiązanych ze sobą czynników, wynikających również ze wzajemnych interakcji, nie wszystkie cechy i mechanizmy właściwe dla pojedynczych osób, będą w takim samym stopniu reprezentatywne dla zespołu. Celem przeprowadzonego badania było ukazanie zespołowej perspektywy w postrzeganiu kreatywności zespołu oraz sprawdzenie zasadności użycia map mentalnych, jako narzędzia umożliwiającego badanie kolektywnych konstruktów terminu „kreatywność zespołu”. Badana próba składała się z trzech zespołów pracowniczych, po 5 osób każdy. Jako narzędzie badawcze wykorzystano mapy mentalne tworzone zespołowo, które zostały poddane analizie jakościowej, uwzględniającej: treści i strukturę oraz analizie ilościowej, obejmującej: analizę średnich wartości komponentów, jak i połączeń oraz gęstości map.W toku badania wyłoniono siedem zbiorów cech, właściwych dla procesów twórczych. Pośród nich dobrano takie, które są tożsame dla jednostek i zespołów: klimat pracy, warunki pracy, cel, wzmocnienia oraz cechy indywidualne. A także takie, które właściwe są tylko dla procesów zespołowych: stosunki interpersonalne oraz spójność zespołu. Ponadto potwierdzono, że narzędzie w postaci map mentalnych, którym posłużono się w procesie badania, umożliwia zidentyfikowanie specyfiki kolektywnego modelu badanego pojęcia.
When reviewing the literature dedicated to the phenomenon of creativity in the field of management, one can notice the dominant perspective of individuals. In general, the team's perspective is not taken into account. Bearing in mind that a lot of interrelated factors are influencing team creativity, also those resulting from mutual interactions, not all features and mechanisms specific to individuals will be equally representative of the team. The aim of the study was to show the team's perspective in perceiving the creativity of the team and to verify the validity of mind maps as a tool to investigate the collective constructs of the term "team creativity". The sample consisted of three employee teams, 5 people each. As a research tool, team-based mind maps were used, which were subjected to qualitative analysis, including content and structure, as well as quantitative analysis covering analysis of the average values of components as well as map connections and densities.In the course of the study, seven sets of features were selected that were specific to creative processes. Among them, the ones that are the same for individuals and teams were chosen: the working climate, working conditions, purpose, reinforcements and individual characteristics. There were also those that were only relevant to team processes: interpersonal relations and team cohesion. In addition, it was confirmed that the tool in the form of mind maps, which were used in the research process, allows one to identify the specifics of the collective model of the concept.
