Podejście takie znajduje odzwierciedlenie w wielu strategiach unijnych i krajowych, stwarzając mechanizmy sprzyjające rozwojowi powiązań klastrowych, szczególnie w nowej perspektywie finansowania na lata 2014-2020. Powstały z inicjatywy ITG KOMAG Klaster Maszyn Górniczych wpisuje się swoją strategią w ten nurt działania.
Clusters, which are the groups of collaborating companies and organizations, can play a significant role in the economic development of countries and regions on the global market. Individual companies are often not able to meet the competitive requirements of the market. Thus, companies, scientific centres and local authorities should collaborate to develop and implement an innovative product. Such approach can be seen in many EU and Polish strategies, creating the mechanisms for a development of cluster interconnections, especially at a new financing policy for the years 2014-2020. Strategy of the Cluster of Mining Machines established in the result of initiative of the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology is a part of this type of activity.

Obecnie w czasopiśmie publikowane są artykuły o szerokim spektrum tematycznym, obejmującym problematykę zarówno maszyn górniczych, jak i zagadnienia związane z ochroną środowiska, bezpieczeństwem pracy i zarządzaniem. W niniejszym artykule opisano historię kwartalnika, specyfikę pracy oraz aktualne zadania zespołu redakcyjnego.
This year it has been 30 years since the first volume of Mining Machines quarterly was issued. The quarterly was developed due to the need of better communication and quick dissemination of knowledge on designing, testing and implementation of new solutions used in the mining sector. At present the papers of wide technical spectrum, including problems of mining machines, environment protection, work safety and management are published. The history of quarterly, specificity of work and present tasks of editorial team are described.

Opis:: Unscheduled downtimes in machine operation are one of the main reasons behind their low availability. Such downtimes are caused by miscellaneous factors and remain difficult to identify in a number of cases. This particularly refers to enterprises that conduct their activities in changing external conditions, such as hard coal mines, where exploitation is carried out in extremely complicated, changeable and dangerous conditions. The process of coal production makes use of various machines that must be adapted to these conditions. The specificity of the working environment makes it necessary for these machines to exhibit high reliability, readiness and efficiency. These features, in turn, make the cost of the machines very high. It is therefore reasonable to make the best use of their capabilities, which translates into the effectiveness of the entire production process. The article concentrates on determining the availability of these machines. It has been assumed that availability is one of the fundamental parameters that define the effective utilisation of machines. The tests were conducted for a longwall shearer as well as an armoured face conveyor and a main haulage conveyor in one of the hard coal mines in Poland. Industrial automation systems were used to determine unscheduled downtimes in the operation of these machines, as well as their time structure and causes. The results obtained indicate that the number of unscheduled downtimes represents a serious problem in mining exploitation.

Opis:: Computer systems supporting the management of machines operation and maintenance in companies have been successfully applied in many branches of industry. Over the last few years these systems have been considerably transformed. It also seems that using them for operating mining machines in hard coal mines is inevitable, as maintenance generates high production costs. If implemented, the systems will allow for optimization of stocks, spare parts and materials, supplies, outsourced services as well as maintenance-repair works. Application of a system supporting the management of mining machines/equipment will also enable a better, more effective use of employees. As a result of these actions, the time needed for preparations and repair will be shortened, which will translate directly into the economic effects of mines.

The publication features the aspects of remote diagnostics of mining machines and the benefits resulting from such solutions. Special focus was put on drill rigs and roof bolt setters operating in the mines where there is not developed infrastructure of internal network. There are many such mines in the world. As a result of that, it is necessary to meet the clients' needs with consideration of the lowest possible costs of machines servicing and maintenance.

Opis:: Underground extraction of coal is characterized by high variability of mining and geological conditions in which it is conducted. Despite ever more effective methods and tools, used to identify the factors influencing this process, mining machinery, used in mining underground, work in difficult and not always foreseeable conditions, which means that these machines should be very universal and reliable. Additionally, a big competition, occurring on the coal market, causes that it is necessary to take action in order to reduce the cost of its production, e.g. by increasing the efficiency of utilization machines. To meet this objective it should be pro-ceed with analysis presented in this paper. The analysis concerns to availability of utilization selected mining machinery, conducted using the model of OEE, which is a tool for quantitative estimate strategy TPM. In this article we considered the machines being part of the mechanized longwall complex and the basis of analysis was the data recording by the industrial automation system. Using this data set we evaluated the availability of studied machines and the structure of registered breaks in their work. The results should be an important source of information for maintenance staff and management of mining plants, needed to improve the economic efficiency of underground mining.

W artykule omówiono nowy układ bezprzewodowego sterowania i rozbudowanej diagnostyce maszyny, w oparciu o system SKD-2M, z innowacyjnym rozwiązaniem umożliwiającym kierunkową nawigację kombajnu chodnikowego w osi wyrobiska. Zastosowane w systemie SKD-2M rozwiązania z technologiami monitorowania obrysu przodka oraz prowadzeniem maszyny w wyrobisku, w odniesieniu do większości obecnych systemów, poprzez zwiększenie stopnia automatyzacji drążenia i predykcji parametrów pracy maszyny odpowiadającym chwilowym warunkom urabiania, pozwoli na podniesienie stopnia wykorzystania potencjału technicznego maszyny. Nastąpi również ograniczenie zużycia maszyny wynikającego z niewłaściwej eksploatacji, zmniejszenie energochłonności procesu urabiania oraz podniesienie poziomu bezpieczeństwa w przodku chodnikowym. Wpłynie to korzystnie na efektywność drążenia wyrobisk korytarzowych, co ma istotne znaczenie dla ekonomiki zakładu górniczego.
As a result of observation of global trends in the mining industry, especially in terms of needs and expectations of machine and equipment users, the Institute of Innovative Technologies EMAG has initiated some works the objective of which is implementation of innovative solutions in a new diagnosis and control system for machines used for driving of narrow workings. The paper presents a new system for a wireless control and advanced diagnosis of machines that bases on a SKD-2 system. The new system is equipped with an innovative solution that facilitates a directional navigation of a heading machine in the axis of the working. The solutions implemented in SKD-2 together with technologies used for monitoring of the outline of working face and for driving of the machine in working will let increase the level of benefiting from the technical potential of machines, will reduce its wear resulting from improper use, will reduce the power consumption and increase the safety level in the working face areas, which will globally positively affect the efficiency of the driving of narrow workings in comparison to the systems that are presently used. This has been achieved by increasing the level of automation and by prediction of the machine operation parameters according to the current conditions of mining. All factors described in the paper have great importance with regards to perspectives of launching of the product into Eastern markets.

Opis:: Efektywność wyrobiska ścianowego zależy bezpośrednio od prawidłowo dobranych maszyn i urządzeń kompleksu ścianowego. Prawidłowo dobrany kompleks ścianowy musi uwzględniać warunki geologiczno-górnicze eksploatowanej ściany. Przedstawiono analizę awaryjności kombajnowego kompleksu ścianowego oraz uzyskany przez ten kompleks wynik produkcyjny. Analizę przeprowadzono na przykładzie ściany o dużym nachyleniu podłużnym, w której zastosowano kombajn o elektrycznie realizowanym posuwie, roboczo nazwany "AE". Wykazano, jaki wpływ na czas dyspozycyjny ściany ma awaryjność kombajnu, oraz który element w omawianym kombajnie był najbardziej awaryjny (zawodny) i jakie wyniki produkcyjne zostały osiągnięte.
The efficiency of a face depends directly on property selected machines and devices of a coal face system. A properly selected coal face system has to take into account geological and mining conditions of the face. The article features the analysis of the failure frequency of the coal face system along with the production output achieved by this system. The analysis was conducted in a face with a significant longitudinal inclination, equipped with an electric-feed cutter loader, called "AE". It was demonstrated how the failure frequency of the cutter loader influenced the time availability of the face. Additionally, it was presented which element of the cutter loader had the highest failure frequency and what production output was achieved.

Opis:: Omówiono problemy wynikłe w pracy urządzeń podczas oceny ich funkcjonowania w trakcie badań kompatybilności elektromagnetycznej, m.in. na przykładzie wyrobów przeznaczonych do pracy w podziemiach kopalń. Badania zostały wykonane w Laboratorium Badań Kompatybilności Elektromagnetycznej (EMC) w Instytucie Technik Innowacyjnych EMAG w Katowicach. Prezentowane wyniki badań/pomiarów są efektem testów przeprowadzonych w warunkach laboratoryjnych i nie dotyczą wyników badań/pomiarów urządzeń wykonywanych poza siedzibą laboratorium - w miejscu instalacji urządzeń, tzw. pomiarów IN SITU. Problemy przedstawiono na przykładach badań odporności na serie szybkich elektrycznych stanów przejściowych [9] (Electrical Fast Transient EFT/BURST), zapady napięcia, krótkie przerwy i zmiany napięcia [10] oraz na pomiarach elektromagnetycznych zaburzeń promieniowanych [8]. Ze względu na poufność informacji (polityka jakości akredytowanego laboratorium badawczego), szczegóły dotyczące badanych urządzeń zostały utajnione.
The article features the problems concerning the operations of mining devices that were detected at their evaluation during electromagnetic compatibility tests. These tests were applied to devices designed to work in the underground of mines. The tests were carried out in the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory of the Institute of Innovative Technologies EMAG in Katowice. The presented test/measurement results refer to the tests carried out in laboratory conditions and do not refer to tests/measurements conducted outside the laboratory - in the place where the devices are installed, the so-called IN STTU measurements. The problems were presented based on resistance tests to Electrical Fast Transient EFT/BURST [9], voltage dips, short breaks and changes in voltage [10], as well as the measurements of electromagnetic radiation disturbances [8]. Due to information confidentiality (quality polity of the accredited testing laboratory), the details concerning the examined devices are confidential.
