Opis:: Success in the financial market reach those companies that having fast access to data can it properly used. In modern databases and data warehouse are collected vast amounts of information, which man himself is not able to quickly analyze. For this purpose are used the data mining methods that enable the discovery of new knowledge, that is, rules, patterns and relationships in large databases. The aim of this article is to present the data mining methods and their applications. Article is divided into two parts. In the first part of the article explains the concept of data mining and data mining methods are discussed and provides examples of their applications. In the second part of the article presents the companies selling on the Polish market commercial data mining software and examples od free open-source data mining software are discussed.

Opis:: Software maintenance is an essential step in software development life cycle. Nowadays, software companies spend approximately 45% of total cost in maintenance activities. Large software projects maintain bug repositories to collect, organize and resolve bug reports. Sometimes it is difficult to reproduce the reported bug with the information present in a bug report and thus this bug is marked with resolution non-reproducible (NR). When NR bugs are reconsidered, a few of them might get fixed (NR-to-fix) leaving the others with the same resolution (NR). To analyse the behaviour of developers towards NR-to-fix and NR bugs, the sentiment analysis of NR bug report textual contents has been conducted. The sentiment analysis of bug reports shows that NR bugs’ sentiments incline towards more negativity than reproducible bugs. Also, there is a noticeable opinion drift found in the sentiments of NR-to-fix bug reports. Observations driven from this analysis were an inspiration to develop a model that can judge the fixability of NR bugs. Thus a framework, NRFixer, which predicts the probability of NR bug fixation, is proposed. NRFixer was evaluated with two dimensions. The first dimension considers meta-fields of bug reports (model-1) and the other dimension additionally incorporates the sentiments (model-2) of developers for prediction. Both models were compared using various machine learning classifiers (Zero-R, naive Bayes, J48, random tree and random forest). The bug reports of Firefox and Eclipse projects were used to test NRFixer. In Firefox and Eclipse projects, J48 and Naive Bayes classifiers achieve the best prediction accuracy, respectively. It was observed that the inclusion of sentiments in the prediction model shows a rise in the prediction accuracy ranging from 2 to 5% for various classifiers.

Opis:: With the growing number of IT projects and their complexity their deeper analysis became necessary. For this purpose, the historical data on previously completed projects began to collect – it has enabled projects undergo a detailed analysis, which allowed the efficient implementation of projects and allowed in advance to detect the potential problems. Thus a new area of research, Mining Software Repository (MSR), was born. Research in the field of MSR brings very promising results. The increasing importance of research for gaining the tools to support the process of collecting and analyzing the data related to software development is observed. The data from version control systems, bug tracking systems and issue tracking systems is the most popular. This paper presents the existing MSR tools carries out its analysis and describes the weaknesses of each individual solutions.

Opis:: In striving to maximize profits, maximize safety and to meet environmental requirements, management decisions being made in surface mining industry should always be optimal. Operations research, as a discipline supporting the decision-making processes helps to achieve this. In this paper, basic issues related to operations research in open-pit mining are explained. Significance of the operations research is emphasized, presenting the wide range of its applications in open-pit mining industry.
Dążąc do maksymalizacji zysków, maksymalizacji bezpieczeństwa oraz spełnienia wymagań środowiskowych, decyzje zarządcze podejmowane w górnictwie odkrywkowym powinny być zawsze optymalne. Badania operacyjne - jako dyscyplina wspierająca procesy decyzyjne, pomagają to osiągać. W artykule wyjaśniono podstawowe zagadnienia dotyczące badań operacyjnych w branży górnictwa odkrywkowego oraz podkreślono ich znaczenie, przedstawiając szeroki wachlarz zastosowań.

Tytuł:: Implementation of metrics aggregation for structural code components of open source repositories
Implementacja agregacji metryk komponentów struktury kodu źródłowego otwartych repozytoriów

Opis:: The purpose of the work is to implement the aggregation of metrics based on the code in open source projects, taking the structure of their components into account. The paper discusses the implementation of the aggregation model and presents selected tools and methods for code analysis. The paper also refers to the implementation of an existing solution developed by the Department of Software Engineering at Jagiellonian University. Presenting an original method of data aggregation, the work shows an alternative solution whose main advantage is the high concurrency level of the data analysis process. Finally, using the discussed implementation, an example aggregation of repositories into a set of metrics was carried out, which can serve as a basis for further research on software quality.
Celem pracy jest implementacja agregacji metryk kodu projektów otwartoźródłowych z uwzględnieniem struktury ich komponentów. W pracy omówiona została implementacja modelu agregującego, a także przedstawione zostały wybrane narzędzia oraz metody analizy kodu. Praca nawiązuje również do implementacji istniejącego już rozwiązania rozwijanego przez Zakład Inżynierii Oprogramowania Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. Przedstawiając autorską metodę agregacji danych praca prezentuje alternatywne rozwiązanie którego główną zaletą jest wysoki poziom możliwości zrównoleglenia procesu analizy danych. Na koniec, wykorzystując omówioną implementację, przeprowadzona została próbna agregacja repozytoriów w zbiór metryk, które przysłużyć się mogą dalszym badaniom nad jakością oprogramowania.

Opis:: Ciągłość dostaw energii elektrycznej jest podstawowym czynnikiem warunkującym prowadzenie działalności w zakładach górniczych i jest podstawą bezpieczeństwa pracy ludzi oraz ochrony środków produkcji. Przerwy w dostawach energii stwarzają zagrożenie dla takich procesów jak: przewietrzanie wyrobisk podziemnych, transport załogi z i na powierzchnię kopalni. Instalacje elektryczne są często bardzo złożone i przesyłają dużą ilości energii, zwłaszcza, gdy szczytowe wartości mocy obciążenia są kilka razy wyższe niż jego średnia moc. Stąd istotne jest zarządzanie kopalnianą siecią elektroenergetyczną i jej monitorowanie oraz prognozowanie obciążeń i wspomaganie podejmowania decyzji w różnych warunkach funkcjonowania sieci. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono oprogramowanie opracowane w ITG KOMAG.
Reliability of energy supply is essential for operation of mining plants. Lack of supply poses a risks to such processes as: ventilation of workings, personnel transportation from and to the mine surface, and is fundamental for personnel safety and protection of means of production. Electrical installations are often very complex, they distribute large amount of power, especially when the peak power is a few times greater than the average power consumption. That is why it is essential to manage the mining power grid and its monitoring as well as forecasting the loads and assisting in making decisions at different conditions of the grid operation. Software developed by KOMAG is presented.

Opis:: Process mining techniques allow for the analysis of the real process flow. This flow might be disturbed for many reasons, including software failures. It is also possible for failure occurrence to be the consequence of the faulty process execution. A method for measuring the harmfulness of the software failure regarding business processes executed by the user would be a valuable asset for quality and reliability improvement. In this paper, we take the first step towards developing this method by providing a tool for enhancing XES event logs with failure data. We begin with an introduction to this topic and background analysis in the field of failure classification and process mining techniques supporting failure analysis. Then we present our method for merging operational and failure data. By carrying out a case study based on real data, we evaluate our tool and present the aim of our future work.

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono możliwości wykorzystania wolnego i otwartego oprogramowania do przygotowania danych do zasilenia baz tworzonych w przedsiębiorstwach, prowadzących podziemną eksploatację węgla kamiennego, w ramach działających tam systemów klasy GIS. Możliwości te szczegółowo zaprezentowano na przykładzie programu Quantum GIS. Program zastosowano do opracowania bazy danych o obiektach budowlanych posadowionych na terenie górniczym kopalń, wchodzących w skład Polskiej Grupy Górniczej sp. z o.o. (PGG sp. z o.o.) Szczegółowo zaprezentowano sposób opracowania powyższej bazy, zgodnie z kilkoma wariantami procedur, uwzględniającymi stan bazy, funkcjonującej w ramach systemu GIS w PGG sp. z o.o. Omówiono sposób generowania dokumentów zawierających dane w zakresie przedmiotowej bazy, wymaganych w ramach przygotowania planu ruchu zakładu górniczego.
This paper presents the possibilities of using free and open source software to prepare data for the supply of databases created in the enterprises conducting underground coal exploitation within the GIS systems operating there. These possibilities were presented in details on the example of the program Quantum GIS. The program was used to develop the database of building objects located in the coal mining areas, belonging to the Polish mining group Ltd. (PGG Ltd.). The method of the elaboration of the above database according to a few variants of procedures that take into account the state of a base operating within the framework of GIS system in PGG S.A has been presented in details. The manner of generating the documents which contain data on the subject base required in the preparation of the mining traffic plan was discussed.

Nowadays, there are many methods and good practices in software engineering that are aimed at providing high quality of created software. However, despite the efforts of software developers, there are often defects in projects, the removal of which is often associated with a large financial and time expenditure. The article presents an example approach to defect prediction in IT projects based on predictive models based on historical information and product metrics, collected from various data repositories.
