Opis:
The author takes up the problem of foreign minors living in Poland, which was first noticed in this country at the beginning of the 1990s. In the Polish literature on the subject, the problem of migration and minors is most often discussed in the context of labour migration of Poles and problems related to the absence of parents in Poland. The problem of foreign minors living in Poland fits into a wider European context. The objective of this article is to understand the legal and demographic aspects of foreign minors as well as the dilemmas and challenges faced by Polish schools in the area of education. To pursue this cognitive objective, the author conducted an analysis of the relevant literature. In order to investigate the topic, two research questions were formulated: a) What is the Polish migration policy towards foreign minors from the legal perspective? b) What is the situation of foreign minors in Polish schools, including legal norms and problems connected with their education and upbringing? In conclusion, it should be stated that Poland lacks a broad strategy and holistic policy from the government and non-governmental institutions on the integration of foreigners. Nevertheless, Polish law and institutional practices are aimed at safeguarding the interests of foreign minors and respecting children’s rights, their subjectivity, and national and cultural identity. The upbringing of minor foreigners living in Poland poses new challenges for schools and teachers, who should acquire new competences in intercultural education and educational practices aimed at students from other cultures. It should also be noted that there are no specialised centres capable of providing adequate care and assistance to such children, who are often victims of violence, crime and exploitation. Educational authorities and schools tend to incline towards the paradigm of inclusion and acknowledging the ‘Other’ when it comes to children from other cultures, rather than discrimination and opposition to the process of multiculturalism.

Opis:
Before a young person is placed in a correctional facility, a series of interventions are undertaken towards him or her, which have the potential to stop criminogenic behaviour and break the causal chain leading to crime. In this paper, a qualitative analysis of the biographies of 60 minor offenders was carried out using the case study method while they were in rehabilitation facilities (correctional institutions or minor shelters). The personal documents collected by the rehabilitation institutions contain a large quantity of information (interviews, diagnoses, and expert opinions) about minors against whom several systemic interventions were previously applied in the course of their lives. The results show the large number and variety of interventions made towards minors, which ultimately did not prevent their placement in rehabilitation facilities because they were usually made too late.

Opis:
The present paper focuses on foreign minors: between family and school in a pedagogical perspective. Themes and problems are presented in four main areas: the foundational framework of interculture in a pedagogical perspective; the family as the main observatory and migration project, characterized by development and education tasks involving all its members, with particular attention to their roles and functions, and the role of family and parenting support services; the processes of education / literacy and socialization / education as practices that affect the school curriculum (in its different orders and degrees), addressing also the issues of language and work as the main means of cultural and social integration and inclusion; the professional figures (in initial training and in-service), with specific reference to the educational care provided by teachers, socio-pedagogical professional educators and pedagogists. The paper adopts the perspective of general and social pedagogy, considering also intercultural factors and Adult Education. Moreover, it incorporates the contributions of educational sciences. In terms of sources, it is based on the studies, research and projects in the field, while, at a methodological level, it stems from an investigative approach centered on the dialogue between theory and praxis. Its aim is to offer possible lines of evolution and unchartered bases for educational planning.

Opis:
Migration, as a global phenomenon has a long history also in the Slovak Republic. Most of the migrants come, or are passing through its territory legally. There are still cases of illegal migration, too. The reasons for this form of state borders crossing are diverse. Part of illegal migrants are also people who are belonging to vulnerable groups, including unaccompanied minors. Since this is a specific and particularly vulnerable group of migrants, the European Union and subsequently the Slovak Republic adopted several legislative measures in the area of migration and asylum. Their aim is to adjust the status of unaccompanied minors and to contribute to finding lasting solutions to their current situation, taking into account their best interests.

Opis:
Tematem mojej pracy jest prostytucja nieletnich w opinii młodzieży i dorosłych mieszkańców Podkarpacia.W rozdziale pierwszym prezentuję terminologiczne i teoretyczne zagadnienia dotyczące prostytucji, jej uwarunkowań, a także prawne i zdrowotne aspekty prostytucji, działania które są podejmowane w celu przeciwdziałania prostytucji.W dalszej części ukazuję metodologię badań własnych. Główny problem badawczy brzmi: Jaka jest opinia młodzieży i dorosłych mieszkańców Podkarpacia na temat prostytucji nieletnich? Do badań wykorzystałam kwestionariusz ankiety i wywiad niestandaryzowany .
The theme of my work is the prostitution of minors, in the opinion of young people and adults in the Subcarpathian region. In the first chapter I present the terminology and theoretical issues of prostitution, its conditions, as well as legal and health aspects of prostitution, the activities that are undertaken to prevent prostitution. As I show later in their research methodology. The main research problem is: What is the opinion of young people and adults in Podkarpacie about prostitution? For testing I used a questionnaire and standardized interview. The survey embraced Bieszczady 100 students of the School of Professional and 100 inhabitants Podkarpacie. Standardized interview was conducted among 12 people from the area of Sub-Carpathian region, and also investigated the two minors prostituted. My research shows that the main reason for engaging in prostitution by minors is a desire to get rich quick, and with boredom. According to respondents, the cause of prostitution is a lack of interest on the thrones rodziców.Większość people surveyed did not have a negative attitude towards prostitution as well as to themselves minors engaging in prostitution.

Opis:
A graph class C has polynomial expansion if there is a polynomial function f such that for every graph G∈C, each of the depth-r minors of G has average degree at most f(r). In this note, we study bounded-radius variants of some classical graph parameters such as bramble number, linkedness and well-linkedness, and we show that they are pairwise polynomially related. Furthermore, in a monotone graph class with polynomial expansion they are all uniformly bounded by a polynomial in r.

Opis:
The uncontrolled wave of immigrants to the European Union countries, which reached its peak in 2015, challenged not only the well-established system of asylum policies in the Member States but also revealed the fundamental differences among them concerning the so-called “immigration issue”. The article focuses on the mechanisms and institutions which evolved during the different waves of immigrants in Belgium and the Netherlands. It also looks for an answer to the question: is mass immigration to Europe a threat or an opportunity? Depending on one’s attitude to the topic, the answer may be positive or negative.
