Opis:: In this paper, I respond to a recent published analysis of my work by Dr Piotr Bylica, which characterises me as a “naturalistic theist”. I suggest that Bylica’s analysis takes this approach in order to fit my thought into his own “levels of analysis” scheme, but that it does not accurately represent my own theistic beliefs. I further argue that this process has resulted in the loss of important nuances in my work on areas such as miracles, dualism, and biblical interpretation.

These are the interpretation based on depth psychology (Drewermann) and the interpretation of miracles as images and signs of hope (Theissen, Langner, Metz).

Opis:: W artykule podjęto próbę przedstawienia i usystematyzowania późnoantycznych cudów z udziałem roślin i zwierząt. Głównym materiałem źródłowym są zbiory cudów, takie jak dzieła Grzegorza z Tours i Grzegorza Wielkiego. Dokonane zostanie rozróżnienie między cudami, które wydarzyły się za życia świętego lub po jego śmierci, oraz między cudami, w których rośliny i zwierzęta są przedmiotami lub podmiotami cudu, lub obydwoma jednocześnie.
The article tries to present and systematize the Late Antique miracles with the participation of plants and animals. The main source material is drawn from the collections of miracles such as the works of Gregory of Tours and Gregory the Great. The distinction will be made between the miracles that happened during the lifetime of a saint or after their death and between the miracles in which the plants and animals are objects or subjects of a miracle, or both at the same time.

Opis:: The purpose of the article is to investigate the philosophical and theological validity and coherence of the classical concept of a miracle within the contemporary scientific world view. The main tool in this process will be the cognitive standard model of the formation of religious beliefs operative in the cognitive science of religion. The application of this model shows why an intentional agent is assigned as responsible for the occurrence of events with no visible cause such as a miracle: miracles are events that violate the intuitively expected behaviors observable in the physical reality. It will become evident that much of the conceptual content of the classical understanding of miracles can be retained despite of the ontological and epistemological challenges of the contemporary science. In particular, this concerns the semantic view of miracles in which a miracle does not occur as an objective Divine intervention but qualifies as religious interpretation of the natural course of events always in reference to a cultural and personal context that is unique to those who directly experience these events either as direct recipients or as observers.

Opis:: The study is based on three sources which are the books of miracles of Bernard of Wąbrzeźno, archbishop Bogumił, and the Blessed Virgin Mary of Rokitno. The analysis revealed that the aforementioned books of miracles were not an arena of conflict. The Heavenly Healers in the books proved to be almost absolutely effective – this is a matter of course due to the specific nature of the books which are composed of certified miracles. The recorded helplessness of barber surgeons as well as ineffectiveness of recommended treatments served not so much to show intentional depreciation of this group but rather to indicate the Providence, which offered its help in every helpless situation.

Opis:: Simon of Lipnica, who died in 1482, was counted among the blessed in 1685, has been a saint of the Catholic Church since 2007, and was a Franciscan Observant associated with the priory founded by Johannes of Capestrano in the suburb of Krakow, is one of the not fully recognized figures building the image of Polish religious culture. After his death, a "miracle office" was established in the Bernardine priory, where miraculous events through the intercession of Simon were recorded meticulously on an ongoing basis. In this way, the largest Polish late-medieval collection de miraculis was created. Drawing from the new critical edition, this article presents this monument not only in the context of the first years of Simon's "miracle office" but also in the context of the development of the miraculum as a literary genre.

Opis:: The communist authority in Poland monitored events identified in the category of miracles, regardless of whether they were recognized by the Catholic Church as miracles or not. The Ministry of Public Security saw these phenomena as an active method of hostile activities on the part of the clergy.The repression of people who disseminated information about such events started at the end of 1948 started. All forms of MPS activities – creation of groups of secret informants, psychic pressure, brutal pacification meetings, arrests and questionings – were used. There were also cases of people who disseminated information about the miracles been placed in psychiatric hospitals. Preserved documents of the MPS are not proof of the truth of miracles, but they do form evidence of the destructive will by the Communists towards all expressions of religiosity.

Opis:: This article devoted to the devotions to St. Stanislaw Papczynski in Elk is a theological-pastoral reflection not so much on the forms of these devotions but rather on discovering signs of God’s action in them. The miracles, acknowledged by the Church during the beatification and canonization of St. Stanislaw Papczynski, related to human life at its beginning and its end. It is a telltale sign for the current times, when the value of human life is questioned. Therefore, raising Fr.
