Opis:: The main goal of this work is the integration of in-house software with commercial numerical software based on the finite element method (FEM). The main idea is to develop a universal interface to perform process simulations with multiscale models. The interface allows the combination of external procedures with commercial software with minimum programmer’s work putting in integration. As an example, the model of material recrystallization of steel was implemented, added to the commercial application, and the software was tested for a process defined as a sequence of compression and cooling. The material model takes into consideration each type of recrystallization that occurs during a sequence of thermal and mechanical processing such as static recrystallization (SRX), dynamic recrystallization (DRX), and meta-dynamic recrystallization (MDRX). It allows the prediction of recrystallized volume fraction (X) and grain growth on each step of numerical simulation for each Gauss point in the computation domain. The presented multiscale model of process sequences not only allows to calculate microscale model parameters such as grain growth and recrystallized volume fraction, but also reflects the impact of the microscale model on macroscale parameters.

Opis:: The paper presents the evolution of the British model of immigrant integration after World War II. It is a historical and political analysis. The author indicates the key elements of the British approach to decolonisation which were translated into concrete legal acts regulating the lives of the Commonwealth residents and immigrants arriving in the UK. The paper also discusses different dimensions of the integration of immigrants into British society. The analysis indicates that the multicultural model of immigrant integration adopted after World War II has been found to be dysfunctional, as British society has reached a state of super-diversity, becoming a very complex mosaic of races, religions and nationalities.

Opis:: The purpose of this research is to review a sample of literature in the area of supply chain integration. Considering the extensive amount of literature on supply chain integration, it appears that it is still in its infancy. This study reviews a sample of 152 articles and in doing so throw light on different aspects of supply chain integration namely: vertical integration, functional integration, integration models .It discusses and criticizes the current state of literature on this context so that future researches find directions to contribute to missing points and remove obstacles. The scope of this review is limited to a cross-section of the literature in this area. As such, it cannot, and does not, attempt to be an examination of the full range of the literature, but a sampling of important and influential works.

Opis:: A variety of reference models such as CMMI, COBIT or ITIL support IT organizations to improve their processes. These process improvement reference models (IRMs) cover different domains such as IT development, IT Services or IT Governance but also share some similarities. As there are organizations that address multiple domains and need to coordinate their processes in their improvement we present MoSaIC, an approach to support organizations to efficiently adopt and conform to multiple IRMs. Our solution realizes a semantic integration of IRMs based on common meta-models. The resulting IRM integration model enables organizations to efficiently implement and asses multiple IRMs and to benefit from synergy effects.

Opis:: The article applies to three autobiographical novels written in the 1980s and 1990s by citizens of France, second-generation Algerian immigrants. The authors of these novels widely relate to their own experience of life in the suburbs of French cities. The protagonists are young people who on the one hand feel French and demand acceptance and on the other experience acts of discrimination. Moreover, their relationship to traditional Algerian culture is also ambivalent. The place with which they identify themselves is not France, in spite of the citizenship, nor Algeria, in spite of the origin, but their own district, which is a place where they live their everyday life. The author of the article analyzes the chosen novels through the perspective of the republican model of integration which excludes recognition of ethnic origin of the citizens. The article, referring to M. Foucault’s theory of heterotopia, argues that although the novels in question sensitize French readers to the various social questions, they, paradoxically, support the typical thinking of the republican model.

Tytuł:: Listening as a stimulus for speaking at elementary level
Słuchanie jako bodziec stymulujący mówienie na poziomie szkoły podstawowej

Opis:: The subject of my project is “Listening as a stimulus for speaking at elementary level”. The reason why I chose this subject area is that I found listening omnipresent at the elementary level. During my teaching practice I observed how significant it is for the language learning. In order to start speaking independently in the future, young students often need some kind of stimulus. Listening exercises may not only present a model for speaking or indicate the correct pronunciation – especially in lower classes they influence positive atmosphere in the class. In some cases they may even have a form of play. That is why most lessons demanded the use of the recording. What is more, elementary school textbooks visibly tend towards the wider use of recordings.My teaching practice took place in the Kazimierz Pułaski Elementary School. In this institution, students with some disorders (Down Syndrome, Asperger Syndrome and ADHD) have a chance to learn in mixed-ability classes, and in this way integrate with the rest of the students. In my opinion, the idea of uniting the students had a beneficial influence over both groups. Mixed-ability classes raise the awareness of healthy students and prepare them how to be more tolerant and patient towards other people. On the other hand, students with disorders could feel a lot of support and integrate with the rest.Taking into consideration the significance of combining listening with speaking, the theoretical part of my project has been divided into three parts. In the first one (Speaking) definition of speaking and information concerning research into it are presented. Chapter One also includes theories and basic procedures used by the teachers making use of recordings as a way of introducing speaking exercises. The second chapter (Listening) includes the definition of listening, and historical views of the role of listening. In my project, details of typical sequences as well as various problems and current trends connected with it are being put forward. The last part includes information about integration of both skills.The practical part of my project presents the lessons carried out in: Class 3 (age 9) Classes 4 (age 10) and Class 6 (age 12). The variety of ages enabled me to observe different stages of development in terms of language learning. The general level in the classes was A1. Only two classes were on the verge of the levels A1 and A2. Two of the classes (Class 3 and one of the Classes 4) were mixed-ability classes, including students with disorders. Students with disorders were accompanied by the assisting teachers. Visual materials (which I prepared myself) were prepared in such way to match the abilities of both students with disorders and the healthy ones.
Temat mojej pracy brzmi „Słuchanie jako bodziec stymulujący mówienie na poziomie szkoły podstawowej”.Pierwsza część („Mówienie”) skupia się na przedstawieniu mówienia jako umiejętności stymulowanej przez użycie nagrań. Rozdział rozpoczyna się od definicji mówienia. Dalej przedstawione są informacje dotyczące badań na temat mówienia. Następne podrozdziały opisują kolejno: trzy teorie dotyczące nauczania języka, fragmenty Teorii przyswajania drugiego języka Krashena oraz opinie Chomsky’ego na temat opanowywania języka. Branie pod uwagę przytoczonych tu teorii może przyczynić się do efektywniejszego przyswajania języka przez uczniów. Rozdział kończy część przedstawiająca podstawowe procedury używane przez nauczycieli używających nagrań w trakcie lekcji w celu wspierania mówienia. We współczesnych szkołach podstawowych, słuchanie nagrań zyskuje na popularności i jest częściej stosowane w trakcie nauczania języków obcych. Wielu badaczy podkreśla ich pozytywny wpływ na przyswajanie języka. Z tego powodu, kolejna część mojej pracy („Słuchanie”) przedstawia słuchanie jako element stymulujący umiejętność mówienia. Rozdział rozpoczyna część opisująca integrowanie słuchania z innymi umiejętnościami. Następnie, praca skupia się na historycznych podejściach na temat jego roli w nauczaniu języka obcego. Kolejne podrozdziały przedstawiają szczegóły typowych sekwencji oraz etapów lekcji, problemy, jak również najnowsze trendy w kwestii użycia dodatkowych materiałów wspomagających. Szczególnie w klasach szkoły podstawowej, użycie ilustracji może pozytywnie wpłynąć na odbiór nagrania. Ostatni podrozdział dotyczy słuchania jako modelu do naśladowania. Imitacja pozwala uczniom na zapoznanie się z ważnymi wzorcami językowymi. Ostatni rozdział mojej pracy przedstawia słuchanie jako bodziec stymulujący mówienie oraz zalety łączenia obu umiejętności.Praca zawiera również materiały towarzyszące konspektom lekcji. Załączniki zostały wykonane przeze mnie specjalnie na potrzebę tych zajęć.

Opis:: The paper aims at analysing the determinants of regional economic integration in Sub-Saharan Africa in relation to the European model of integration, perceived as a benchmark for the region. The paper employs analytic-descriptive analysis, using national and international literature sources and statistical data of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development – UNCTAD. Research results show that regional integration processes in Africa are determined by natural conditions, economic and political determinants, as well as by adopted model of integration. As integration effects in Africa prove to be highly unsatisfactory, a critical review of adopted integration model seems to be necessary. International institutions should also verify their approach to African integration in order to provide this continent with an optimal balance between local regionalism and economic globalization.

Opis:: Documents such as reports ESPON, National Spatial Development Concept 2030, Strategy for the Development of South Polish to 2020 , indicate the metropolitan area of Silesia and Cracow Metropolitan Area as a potential integrated development zone as a center of South Polish Macroregion. The analysis includes transport links (including road, rail, air and buses) , economic linkages, scientific co-operation, and migration processes between the studied metropolitan areas. In addition, the author presents a model of the stages of integration between two metropolitan areas and also locates the system of Cracow Metropolitan Area - Silesia Metropolis in this model.
Dokumenty takie jak Raporty ESPON, Koncepcja Przestrzennego Zagospodarowania Kraju 2030, Strategia Dla Rozwoju Polski Południowej do roku 2020, wymieniają obszar metropolii Silesia i Krakowskiego Obszaru Metropolitalnego, jako potencjalny zintegrowany obszar będący dźwignią rozwoju Makroregionu Polski Południowej. W ramach pracy badawczej ocenie poddane zostały powiązania transportowe (w tym drogowe, kolejowe, lotnicze, autobusowo – busowe), gospodarcze, naukowo–badawcze, migracyjne pomiędzy tymi ośrodkami. Autor przedstawił także model pożądanego przebiegu procesu integracji pomiędzy metropoliami, a także zlokalizował miejsce systemu Krakowski Obszar Metropolitalny – Metropolia Silesia w tymże modelu.

France’s immigration policy driven by Nicolas Sarkozy. The failure of traditional model of integration.

Opis:: Twarzą i autorem francuskiej polityki jest od 2002 roku przede wszystkim Nicolas Sarkozy: najpierw jako minister spraw wewnętrznych, następnie także jako lider partii UMP, a wreszcie od 2007 roku jako Prezydent Republiki Francuskiej. W trakcie jego rządów polityka imigracyjna i integracyjna uległy zaostrzeniu, położono także mocny nacisk na urzeczywistnienie francuskiego uniwersalistycznego modelu integracji. Restrykcje wprowadzone względem imigrantów na przestrzeni ostatniej dekady wywołały mocny sprzeciw wobec polityki Sarkozy’ego, zwłaszcza w łonie UE. Niniejsza praca stawia sobie cztery cele. Po pierwsze, bada imigrację jako zjawisko społeczne i polityczne. Po drugie, przedstawia historyczne tło dla ostatnich zmian w polityce imigracyjnej Francji. Po trzecie, prezentuje główne akty prawne uchwalone za rządów Nicolasa Sarkozy’ego jako ministra i Prezydenta. Na koniec zaś stara się odpowiedzieć na pytanie w jaki sposób i z jakiego powodu doszło do fiaska tradycyjnego modelu integracji.
Since 2002, French policy has been mainly driven by Nicolas Sarkozy: firstly as Minister of the Interior, then also as leader of UMP and finally, from 2007, as President of the Republic. Under his rule immigration and integration policy making has tightened and one could sense the hardening of France’s universalist model of integration. Restrictions towards immigrants undertaken within the space of last decade has provoked a huge outcry over Sarkozy’s policy, especially in the EU.The following paper has four aims. First, it examines immigration as social and political phenomena. Second, it sets out the historical background to recent shifts in French immigration policy. Third, it presents main laws passed during Sarkozy’s tenure as Minister and President. Finally, it seeks to explore how and why the traditional French model of integration has failed.

Opis:: Poland still lacks a long-term and comprehensive migration and integration policy that covers all areas of integration, and all categories of immigrants and so far only once, for a short period, has adopted migration policy at a national level. There is also little coordination among the different governmental bodies that deal with this issue. Therefore, only some of the crucial elements of integration policy at a national level, like the liberalization of the labour market, have occurred successfully. It seems that local policies, especially in large cities, have addressed more precisely various issues faced by immigrants, not only related to employment, and could foster the process of integration.
