Opis:: The Polish speech of several villages in the neighborhood of Doсishki compared with the north-eastern peripheral dialectThe scientific studies on the Polish language on the territory of the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania have focused mainly on specific regions and historical periods. Despite the large number of the recorded materials and their analyses, scientists were unable to establish joint research programs and perform regular investigations; they also failed to create a map of different settlements, so as to develop a holistic picture of the languages of the region. Today, it is difficult to compare the study results of dialectologists and other scholars, because there is no comprehensive analysis of the peripheral Polish dialects.The paper compares the features of the Polish dialect from the area of Docishki with Polish ethnic dialects, as well as with other eastern peripheral dialects. Some other phonetic and morphological features are characterized by the resulting substrate and linguistic contacts. The differences in the Polish dialect of Voronovo district in Belarus are also presented.The analysis of the material has yielded that the Polish speech in the neighbourhood of Doсishki is closely related to the north-eastern peripheral dialects, known as polszczyzna kresowa ‘borderland Polish’. It is mostly characterized by the same features as the Polish language of the area around Vilnius (including a part of the present-day Belarus). However, certain features of the local Polish dialect in villages near Doсishki are not attested in the neighbouring towns, but they are present in a few remote areas, such as the Kaunas region and only a complete description of a dialect will enable linguists to detect such features. Польская речь нескольких деревень в окрестностях Дотишек на фоне северо-восточного периферийного диалектаИсследования польского языка на территории былого ВКЛ проводились до сих пор нерaвномерно как во времени, так и в пространстве. Несмотря на большое количество записанных и проанализированных материалов, учёным не удалось выработать совместных программ и методoлогии исследований, не получилось также разработать сетку населённых пунктов с целью представить в итоге целостную языковую картину региона. Сегодня трудно сопоставить результаты исследований диалектологов и других специалистов в связи с нехваткой комплексных анализов периферийных польских говоров. Автором сравниваются особенности польского говора с окрестностей Дотишек с польскими этническими говорами, а также другими восточными периферийными говорами; характеризуются некоторые фонетические и морфологические черты, обусловленные субстратом, а также языковыми контактами; сделана попытка показать различия в польской речи на территории Вороновщины на Беларуси. Как показывает анализ материала, польская речь в окрестностях Дотишек тесно вплетена в контекст северо-восточного периферийного диалекта, известного как „польшчызна крэсова”. Её характеризуют в основном те же особенности, что и польский язык исторической Виленщины (включая и часть современной Беларуси). Однако определённые языковые черты местного польского говора в расположенных вблизи Дотишек деревнях не были зафиксированы в соседних ареалах, зато известны на несколько отдалённой территории, напр. в районе Каунаса, и только полная характеристика языковой системы речи позволяет такие черты выявить.

Opis:: The Jewish dialect of ʿĀna exhibits three synchronic vowel qualities for the prefix vowel in the prefix-conjugation of the first stem: a, ǝ, and u. While the latter vowel is an allophone of ǝ, the former two are independent phonemes. The existence of two phonemic prefix vowels, especially the vowel a, is intriguing in regional context since the reconstructed prefix vowel in qǝltu dialects is assumed to be *i. Therefore, this paper aims to outline the historical developments that led to this synchronic reality. It will argue that the prefix vowel a was borrowed from surrounding Bedouin dialects. As for the vowel ǝ, two hypotheses will be suggested to explain its existence: it either developed from the prefix vowel a in analogy to other cases of vowel raising, or it is simply a reflection of the older qǝltu prefix vowel. Regardless of which hypothesis we choose to follow, the assumed historical development has clearly not been finalised, resulting in synchronic free variation.

The East Central German dialects and teenage slang on the basis of dialect songs

Opis:: Diese Arbeit behandelt das Thema „Die ostmitteldeutschen Dialekte und die Jugendsprache am Beispiel der Dialektlieder“. Im ersten Kapitel wird die Entstehung und Geschichte der Jugendsprache angenähert und ihre einzelnen Besonderheiten genauer dargestellt. Danach gewährt man einen Einblick in die Geschichte der Forschungen im Bereich der deutschen Dialektologie. Hier wird der Verlauf von dialektalen Studien in verschiedenen Zeitspannen genannt - vom Mittelalter bis in die Gegenwart. Im weiteren Teil des Kapitels stößt man auf die eigentliche Geschichte der Dialektologie, nämlich Vorgeschichte, die ersten Anfänge und neueste Entwicklungen der Dialektforschung. Das dritte Kapitel erzählt von den theoretischen Grundlagen der ostmitteldeutschen Dialekte. In diesem Teil werden sowohl die Entstehung dieser Dialektgruppe als auch bestimmte Kriterien zu ihrer Abgrenzung von anderen Dialekträumen untersucht. Darüber hinaus enthält dieses Kapitel bestimmte Besonderheiten der gewählten ostmitteldeutschen Mundarten, d.h. des Obersächsischen, Erzgebirgischen, Thüringischen und des Berliner Dialekts. In den nächsten drei Kapiteln wird eine ausführliche Untersuchung der oben erwähnten Dialekte anhand der Dialektlieder präsentiert. Im vierten Kapitel werden vier Lieder, die das Obersächsische, Erzgebirgische und Thüringische repräsentieren, untersucht. Dabei werden ihre bestimmten Merkmale im Bereich der Phonologie, Phonetik, Morphologie und Lexik genannt und mit den Beispielen aus den Liedern unterstützt. Im fünften Kapitel befasst man sich mit dem Berliner Dialekt und seinen Abweichungen, die auch anhand von neun Dialektliedern untersucht werden. Diese Merkmale sind auch von der Phonologie, Phonetik, Morphologie, Lexik und auch Syntaktik geprägt. Im letzten Kapitel werden die Merkmale der Jugendsprache unter die Lupe genommen, die in den untersuchten Dialektliedern vorkommen. Es wird argumentiert, warum das gesammelte Material als ein Didaktisierungsvorschlag für die Auseinandersetzung mit der dialektalen Vielfalt des Deutschen betrachtet werden kann.
Niniejsza praca porusza temat “Dialekty wschodniośrodkowoniemieckie i język młodzieżowy na przykładzie piosenek dialektalnych”. W pierwszym rozdziale zostały przybliżone geneza i historia języka młodzieżowego oraz bardziej szczegółowo przedstawiono jego cechy charakterystyczne. Następnie omówiona została historia badań naukowych w zakresie dialektologii niemieckiej. Wspomniany został tu przebieg badań dialektalnych w różnych okresach - począwszy od średniowiecza, kończąc na czasach współczesnych. W dalszej części rozdziału można znaleźć aktualną historię dialektologii, jej początków po najnowsze osiągnięcia badań w obrębie dialektologii. Trzeci rozdział opowiada o teoretycznych zagadnieniach dotyczących dialektów wschodniośrodkowoniemieckich. W tej części przeanalizowano zarówno genezę tej grupy dialektalnej, jak i zbadano konkretne kryteria, które służą do oddzielenia ich od innych obszarów dialektalnych. Ponadto rozdział ten zawiera opis cech charakterystycznych wybranych gwar wschodniośrodkowoniemieckich, t.j. górnosaksońskiej, rudawskiej, turyńskiej oraz berlińskiej, które pojawiają się w badaniu empirycznym. W kolejnych trzech rozdziałach przedstawiono szczegółowe badanie wyżej wymienionych dialektów na podstawie piosenek dialektalnych. W rozdziale czwartym zostały szczegółowo omówione niektóre piosenki zawierające elementy pochodzące z dialektów górnosaksońskiego, rudawskiego oraz turyńskiego. Następnie przytoczone zostały ich specyficzne cechy z zakresu fonologii, fonetyki, morfologii oraz leksyki wraz z przykładami z piosenek. Rozdział piąty porusza temat dialektu berlińskiego i jego cechy charakterystyczne, które również badane są na podstawie konkretnych piosenek dialektalnych. Cechy te zostały również ukształtowane na podstawie fonologii, fonetyki, morfologii, leksyki oraz składni. W ostatnim rozdziale zostały omówione cechy języka młodzieżowego, które występują w badanych piosenkach dialektalnych. Wykazano, że piosenki zawierające nie tylko elementy dialektalne, ale również posiadające cechy slangu młodzieżowego mogą stanowić ciekawy materiał dydaktyczny, który wykorzystany zostanie do przedstawienia różnorodności dialektów niemieckich.
This master’s thesis deals with the topic “The East Central German dialects and teenage slang on the basis of dialect songs”. In the first chapter the origin and history of the teenage slang is approximated and the single characteristics are presented in detail. This is followed by an insight into the history of research into the field of German dialectology. Here is mentioned the course of dialectal periods of time- from the Middle Ages to the present. In the further part of the chapter one encounters the actual history of dialectology, namely prehistory, the first beginnings and the latest developments in dialect research, which are still used today. The third chapter explains the theoretical foundations of the East Central German dialects. In this part, both the emergence of this dialect group and certain criteria for its differentiation from other dialect areas are examined. In addition, this chapter contains certain peculiarities of the East Central German dialects, i.e. Upper Saxon, Erzgebirge, Thuringian and Berlin dialect, which emerge in the empirical study. In the next three chapters, a detailed study of the above mentioned dialects is presented on the basis of the dialect songs. In the fourth chapter, certain songs based on Upper Saxon, Erzgebirge and Thuringian are examined in detail. After that their specific characteristics in the field of phonology, phonetics, morphology and lexis are mentioned and supported with examples from the songs. The fifth chapter deals with the Berlin dialect and its deviations, which are also examined on the basis of the specific dialect songs. These features are also shaped by phonology, phonetics, morphology, lexis and syntactics. The final chapter examines the characteristics of teenage slang. It has been shown that the examined songs also contain elements of teenage slang. For that reason, the specific teenage slang peculiarities were chosen, which also occur in the dialect songs.
