Opis:: In the present paper, we define a notion of an m2-topological space by introducing a count of openness of a multiset (mset in short) and study the properties of m2-subspaces, mgp-maps etc. Decomposition theorems involving m-topologies and m2-topologies are established. The behaviour of the functional image and functional preimage of an m2-topologies, the continuity of the identity mapping and a constant mapping in m2-topologies are also examined.

Opis:: The offshore structures, such as multi-articulated towers, manipulators working in waving fluid are more and more popular structures. Commonly they are modelled as an inverted pendulum. The motion of such tower immersed in waving fluid is under consideration. It is assumed that the tower is hinged to the seabed by the hinge with friction. The joint of tower elements is the hinge with friction, as well. Motion of tower loaded by regular wave fluid force is considered. The numerical experiment shows that the multi-potential systems may move chaotically for some parameters of the tower and the fluid.

Opis:: In this paper, a model of a multi-agent system for modelling and optimising supply chains is presented. The most popular methodologies of developing multi-agent systems and selected applications of the agent approach to modelling and optimisation of supply chains are described in brief. A pilot realisation of such a system is also presented, together with a selection of the subsequent experimental results obtained.

Opis:: Europarties are regarded as multi-level organizations, like parties operating in federal or devolved states. Examined is whether they can even be treated as political parties sensu stricto and whether the concepts used to test the relations between the national and regional party structures (vertical integration, influence) could be used to study relationships between the national and European structures. It was indicated that Europarties can be considered both as the additional arenas of national parties’ activity and independent political actors consisted of national parties (multi-level parties). The second perspective was used to research 13 existing Europarties. In result, the similarities between the PES and PEL, but differences between the EPP and PES in term of vertical integration and influence were shown. Hence, in the article was proven that there is no one model of relations between the national and European party structures and the parties differ from each other as far as their internal structures are concerned.

Opis:: In induction heating the design of the inductor implies the solution of coupled electromagnetic and thermal fields, along with the use of optimal design procedures to identify the best possible device or process. The benchmark model proposed, a graphite disk heated by means of induction, is optimized using different optimization algorithms. The design aim requires to achieve a prescribed and uniform temperature distribution in the workpiece maximizing the system efficiency.

Opis:: This paper aims to present a new equivalent scheme of multi-windings traction transformers, based on multiport purely inductive circuit. The mathematical background of this equivalent scheme is described. The determination of the different scheme elements is made through a finite-elements calculation of both main and leakage inductances, for the case of a four-winding transformer. A procedure is defined, which allows to estimate the values of these elements from some measurements on the transformer at no-load and short-circuit operations. A specific strategy of short-circuit tests is described, allowing to determine all parameters in a rather simple way.

Opis:: In Switzerland, spatial observation and monitoring systems are very much defined and implemented at the various levels of government. This takes into account the fact that the main challenges and issues differ greatly not only between the levels of government but also regionally. The exchange processes between the levels of state, as well as between the various actors at the respective levels are interwoven in many ways, and this peculiarity of political work is also reflected in the implementation of indicator and monitoring systems. Although strongly characterised by the subsidiarity and independence of the respective level, a lively and well-balanced interaction between different actors can also be observed. This results in a somewhat multipolar picture within and across the levels, with a strong focus on cross-sectoral coordination and cooperation. The main goal of this article is to give an insight into and to deepen the understanding of the main characteristics and processes, dependencies, and interactions in the context of territorial monitoring in Switzerland. The insight is provided from a rather subjective perspective and based on a long-time institutional experience in this field.

Opis:: Traditional availability, reliability, and safety models face the dimension problem due to a huge number of components in modern systems, motivating further research in this field. This paper focuses on multi-fragmental and multiphase models for availability and functional safety assessment of the information and control (I&C) systems with two-cascade redundancy considering design faults manifestation during operation. The methodology of the research is based on Markov and semi-Markov chains with the utilization of multi-phase modeling. Several multi-phase models are developed and investigated considering different conditions of operation and failures caused by version faults. The case study of the research is based on the analysis of safety-critical nuclear power plant I&C systems such as the reactor trip systems developed using the programmable platform RadICS.

Opis:: The article is an introduction to the issue of Polish literature written in Germany after 1989. The first part of the work focuses around the current literary discussions on defining and developing the terminology and methods enabling research into this new literature – written abroad after the fall of the Iron Curtain. Post-emigration literature, migration literature, minority literature, multi-, inter-, trans-cultural and diasporic literature – these are only a few of the suggested terms. The second part of the article refers to the works of selected representatives of Polish literature written after 1989 and the issues they discuss in their works. The purpose of the article is to briefly present the complexity of an important problem in the views of Polish, German and Slavic philologists. At the same time, it aims to show that study of the phenomenon in question is still insufficient.
