Opis:
To fabricate a lead-free solder with better properties, a surface-modified precipitate calcium carbonate (PCC) was added as a reinforcement phase to tin-zinc (Sn-9Zn) solder. The surface modification of PCC was done by using electroless plating to deposit nickel (Ni) layer on the PCC. Based on microstructure analysis, a thin layer of Ni was detected on the reinforcement particle, indicating the Ni-coated PCC was successfully formed. Next, composite solder of Sn-9Zn-xNi-coated PCC (x = 0, 0.25, 0.50, 1.00 wt.%) was prepared. The morphology and phase changes of the composite solder were evaluated by using optical microscope and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Significant refinement on the grain size of Zn was seen with the additions of Ni-coated PCC, with a new phase of Ni3Sn4 was detected along with the phases of Sn and Zn. The wettability of Sn-9Zn was also improved with the presence of Ni-coated PCC, where the wetting angle decreased from 28.3° to 19.4-23.2°. Brinell hardness test revealed up to 27.9% increase in hardness for the composite solder than the pristine Sn-9Zn solder. This phenomenon contributed by the increased in dislocation resistance through Zener pinning effect and Zn grain refinement within the composite solder which enhanced the overall properties of the composite solder.

Opis:
The article presents an analysis of changes in the outer surface of the casting made in a modified ceramic form. The introduction of the modification in the inner surface of the form, as a metallic coating was intended to produce a high quality of the casting surface. To describe the results, the three parameters have been chosen to characterize the surface roughness, i.e. Ra, Rz and Rq. In implementing the popular method of casting was used, so – called the lost polymer models. The models made from different plastic materials are chemically and electrochemically coated with a layer of nickel. The next step was to remove the model from the form and pouring the liquid metal over it. The observation of the casting surface was performed by using the scanning electron microscope and a profilometer. As a result of these attempts a number of castings have been obtained with an outside layer generated of lower roughness than the casting made in the normal gypsum form. The proposed method can be called an innovative one because it reduces the technological cycle by one processing operation of investment casting. During the process of casting both the cast and the outer layer improving the properties of the manufactured product is being produced.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań styków łącznika, które zostały pokryte metodą galwanizacji powłokami ochronnymi ze srebra oraz niklu. Wyznaczono rezystancje przejścia i temperatury łączników w funkcji liczby cykli łączeniowych oraz wykorzystując metodę elektronowej mikroskopii skaningowej i mikroanalizy rentgenowskiej określono procentowy rozkład pierwiastków stanowiących skład chemiczny powierzchni w zależności od czasu eksploatacji.
The paper presents the results of tests of switch contacts with protective coatings made of nickel and silver coated by galvanic method. Contact resistance and temperatures of switches were determined as a function of switching cycles. A percentage distribution of elements included in chemical composition of a contact surface depending on a time of operation has been determined by means of electron scanning microscopy and X-ray microanalysis methods.

In this paper researches which focus on laser heat treatment of nickel-based alloys are reviewed. Studies published from 1970s until today are taken into consideration. Publications which focus on influence of laser thermal processing on surface layer condition both on solid materials and predeposited coatings are described. Laser technologies in which additional materials are delivered during the process are not considered. In order to focus on studies investigating microstructural changes resulting mainly from material remelting, laser shock processing is also disregarded.

In this study, Ni-SiC composite coatings were electroplated on the 5xxx series aluminium alloy substrate. The effect of the quantity (25g/l i 50g/l) and the size (3 m, 0,41 m and 50nm) of SiC particles introduced into the bath as a dispersed phase on properties of the coatings was tested. The influence of these parameters on thickness, microhardness, surface structure, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance of nickel composite coatings was determined.
W niniejszej pracy powłoki Ni-SiC, osadzano elektrolitycznie na stopie aluminium serii 5xxx. Przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczące wpływu ilości (25g/l i 50g/l) oraz wielkości cząstek SiC (3 m, 0,41 m oraz 50nm), wprowadzanych do kąpieli niklowych jako faza zdyspergowana, na właściwości otrzymanej powłoki niklowej. Określono wpływ tych parametrów na grubość, mikrotwardość, strukturę powierzchni, odporność na ścieranie oraz odporność korozyjną otrzymanych kompozytowych powłok niklowych.

In the paper, YSZ coatings were prepared on nickel-based alloy substrates by anodic electrophoretic deposition. The YSZ suspension solution was obtained under stirring and ultrasonic treatment, in which the anhydrous ethanol and acetylacetone were used as the dispersion medium and ammonium polyacrylate was used as the dispersant of the suspension. The effects of different deposition voltage and deposition time on YSZ coating were investigated. Meantime, the microstructure of the coating surface was observed by metallographic microscope. It was found that the high-quality YSZ coating could be obtained by deposition at 60 V for 2–3 min. Finally, the effect of sintering temperature on coating quality was investigated by X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that the YSZ coating bonded closely with the substrate after sintering at 1200 °C, and the porosity of the YSZ coating increased after sintering.

Ni3Al coatings were obtained on AISI 321 steel samples by air plasma spraying system. The behavior of heat treatment on intermetallic coatings were evaluated after exposure at various temperatures i.e. 500ºC to 800ºC. The stay time in this regard was varied from 10 to 100 hours. The coatings were then characterized by X-Ray diffraction analysis, optical and scanning electron microscopy, eddy current measurements and stress analysis. It was observed that the formation of NiO increases drastically with time and temperature. The hardness of the coating increases with the formation of NiO. It was noted that the residual stresses can be correlated with the formation of NiO. Further, the development of residual stresses can be monitored by a non-destructive technique i.e. eddy current method.

The results showed that within the frequency range of 1–1000 MHz, the value of the real part of the dielectric constant of the coated composites was the largest, and the polarisation ability with regard to electromagnetic waves was the strongest when the content of nickel powders was 40%. Within the frequency range of 15–225 MHz, the value of the imaginary part of the dielectric constant of the coated composites was the largest and the loss ability with regard to electromagnetic waves was the strongest when the content of nickel powders was 40%. Within the frequency range of 250–800 MHz, the loss tangent value of the dielectric constant of coated composites was the largest, and the attenuation ability with regard to electromagnetic waves was the strongest when the content of nickel powders was 40%. Within the frequency range of 1220–3000 MHz, the reflection loss value was the smallest when the content of nickel powders was 40%, and its absorption ability with regard to electromagnetic waves was the strongest. In this subject, a single-layer coated composite for nickel powders was prepared using PU2540 polyurethane as the matrix, nickel powder as the wave-absorbing functional particle, and coating technology on plain cotton fabric. The influence of wave-absorbing functional particles on the dielectric, shielding effectiveness and mechanical properties of the single-layer coated composite for nickel powders was mainly analysed and compared. Results showed that the real and imaginary parts and loss tangent of the dielectric constant were all the largest when the iron powder was mixed with the nickel powder, and its polarizing ability, loss ability and attenuation ability with respect to electromagnetic waves were all the maximum. When the graphene was mixed with the nickel powder, the shielding attenuation ability with respect to electromagnetic waves was the best.
W ramach pracy przygotowano jednowarstwowy kompozyt powlekany żywicą poliuretanową zawierającą proszek niklu. Do przygotowania kompozytów użyto poliuretanu PU2540 jako matrycy i proszku niklu jako absorbującej fale cząstki funkcjonalnej oraz zastosowano technologię powlekania na gładkiej tkaninie bawełnianej. Przeanalizowano i porównano głównie wpływ absorbujących fale funkcjonalnych cząstek na dielektryk, skuteczność ekranowania i właściwości mechaniczne jednowarstwowego powlekanego kompozytu. Wyniki pokazały, że rzeczywiste i urojone części oraz styczna strat stałej dielektrycznej były największe, gdy proszek żelaza został zmieszany z proszkiem niklu, a jego zdolność polaryzacyjna, zdolność do strat i zdolność tłumienia fal elektromagnetycznych były maksymalne. Gdy grafen został zmieszany z proszkiem niklu, zdolność tłumienia ekranowania fal elektromagnetycznych była najlepsza.
