Opis:: For many years, there has been a tendency in Poland to organize preventive and rehabilitation activities for offenders as much as possible in environment of freedom.This results, among other things, from criticizing the penalty of deprivation of liberty, which does not fully implement the goals set for it, disappointing with its results and thus searching for more effective ways of transforming, modifying or modeling the attitudes and behaviors of socially maladjusted people. The probation officer is an important instrument of social control and social rehabilitation impact on both minors and adults. He faces new challenges resulting from socio-economic changes, and in the changing social reality, the behavior of defendants also changes. This requires the probation officer to be mindful, flexible, and respond quickly to the rehabilitation needs of supervised.

Opis:: Information resources possessed by the spokesman of a particular institution are decisive factors determining competent and effective execution of his or her activities. Every day’s work of spokesman focuses on collection and skillful selection of information which are being consecutively processed and disseminated. Firstly, the legal acts regulating responsibilities of the spokesmen and public information officers (public affairs officers) in the national defence sector (military press officers/representatives) do not include directives related to the problem of gathering the information by the press teams (public affairs teams). Moreover, there is a lack of specific guide lines on methods, techniques and tools that are applicable in this field of interest. Considering the above mentioned facts, this publication is an attempt to answer the question: can the informational model used by the spokesmen or press officers be integrated with an analogical model of intelligence officer’s or analyst’s?.

Opis:: This publication presents selected theories relating to the elites who have released their relationship with individuals performing professional roles logistics officers of the Polish Army. Importance of play in the article content relating to the method of recruitment to the military elite. The issue has taken place in areas of interest to researchers in various fields, including social sciences. It seems that factors such state of affairs be found in the constant changes affecting the institution that is the army. The interest is also affected by such external factors, which include situations caused annexation must be part of the territory of Ukraine, as well as the creation of an Islamic state. Opis:: The police is an institution dealing not only with the protection of public safety and order, detection of criminal offenses, and search for missing persons, but it also conducts activities aimed at maintaining public order in dangerous situations resulting from the violation of the law. It includes the broadly understood fight against terrorism and neutralizing individuals and terrorist groups. While ensuring public safety and order in public places, on roads, waters, and in rail or air traffic, police officers put their lives and well-being at risk every day, facing various threats. In almost every intervention, officers risk bodily injuries, which can often lead to disability, and in some particularly dangerous situations, even to the loss of life. The risk of injury is a consequence of the behavior of persons against whom official actions are taken to eliminate unlawful conduct. The awareness and presence of such threats cause fear and high levels of stress among police officers, which translates into the efficiency of their service and interventions. The solution to an attempted assault on a police officer, active resistance, or an assault with a dangerous instrument may be the identification and description of countermeasures that affect the level of personal safety of each police officer. The article presents and describes selected categories of threats that may occur during an intervention. Moreover, the author has analyzed the significant factors determining high effectiveness in counteracting and repelling all kinds of dangers the intervening officers may encounter

Opis:: The death of a police officer entitles members of his or her family to financial compensation under the conditions laid down by the law, with survivor’s pension as a principal type of this compensation. If the death of a police officer occurred in connection with the performance of his or her duties, the survivo’s pension is payable to his or her family members based on more favourable conditions. A recently enacted law of 8 February 2023 introduced a new type of compensation, called a ‘financial benefit’, to which family members are entitled when a police officer deceases while performing duties in conditions threatening his or her life or health.

Opis:: The article presents specific aspects of probation officer's work against the background of social problems he encounters. The research on which the article is based was conducted during three-year service in one of probation officer's office in Warsaw. For the sake of the research, the autoethnographic method, characteristic for qualitative and field tests, was used. The author of the text raises the topics of social problems by the example of families under her supervision, where the wards struggle with violence, negligence, difficulties around the divorce, in the background of which conflicts, stimulants or addictions are clearly visible. The aim of the publication is to present the specifics of the work of a probation officer, which is often mistakenly associated with the stigmatization of dysfunctional environments, as well as showing still valid and often marginalized social problems, which despite the increasing living standard of society and the quality of life of Varsovians, are a daily routine for probationers.

Opis:: Rola kuratora sądowego w postępowaniu wykonawczym jest kluczowa, ponieważ przepisy prawa wyznaczają mu zadania praktycznie we wszystkich instytucjach wchodzących w zakres wykonywania kar i środków karnych wobec przestępców. Tym samym kurator sądowy ma wpływ w znacznej mierze na efektywność wykonywania kar i środków karnych. Niestety w obowiązującym stanie prawnym kurator w postępowaniu wykonawczym pełni przede wszystkim funkcje kontrolne i informacyjne, a w bardzo ograniczonym zakresie realizuje funkcje opiekuńcze i resocjalizacyjne. Zatem istnieje konieczność stworzenia mechanizmów, dzięki którym kurator w postępowaniu z dorosłymi sprawcami przestępstw będzie w większym stopniu koncentrował się na działaniach opiekuńczo-wychowawczych. Przesunięcie akcentu na wychowawczy charakter pracy kuratora ze skazanym jest o tyle istotne, że ewolucja polityki kryminalnej zmierza w kierunku poszerzania znaczenia roli kuratora w postępowaniu wykonawczym poprzez rozbudowywanie katalogu jego zadań.
The role of the probation officer in enforcement proceedings is crucial because the law assigns them with tasks in virtually all institutions involved in the enforcement of penalties and punitive measures against criminals. Thus, the probation officer has a significant impact on the effectiveness of the execution of penalties and punitive measures. Unfortunately, in the current legal situation, in enforcement proceedings, the probation officer primarily performs control and information functions, and to a very limited extent they perform care and social rehabilitation functions. Therefore, there is a need to create mechanisms thanks to which the probation officer dealing with adult perpetrators of crimes will focus to a greater extent on care and educational activities. Shifting the emphasis to the educational nature of the probation officer's work with the convict is important because the evolution of criminal policy is aimed at expanding the importance of the probation officer's year in enforcement proceedings by expanding the catalogue of his tasks.
