Opis:: In this paper, I intend to explore the influence of sentimentalism in the works of Gábor Dayka (1769– 1796), a Hungarian poet, an author of sentimental poems imbued with the ideals of the Enlightenment. The sentimental tones of his verses derive first of all from being misunderstood and oppressed and from the impossibility of unveiling the opaque sadness of the mysterious melancholy. Dayka, forced to choose the ecclesiastical career and then abandon it because of his liberal ideas, gradually becomes a sentimental and pessimistic poet who thinks love is painful and projects his pain into nature. I will focus on the sentimental means of expression of Dayka from the poem titled Rettenetes éjszaka (Terrible Night) to Titkos bú (Mysterious Melancholy).
Artykuł analizuje wpływ sentymentalizmu na twórczość węgierskiego poety Gábora Dayki (1769– 1796), autora sentymentalnych wierszy przepojonych ideałami oświecenia. Sentymentalne tony jego wierszy wynikają przede wszystkim z niezrozumienia ze strony środowiska literackiego oraz z niemożności ujawnienia nieprzejrzystego smutku tajemniczej melancholii, która go dręczyła. Dayka, zmuszony do wybrania kariery kościelnej, a następnie porzucenia jej dla swoich liberalnych idei, stopniowo zmienia się w sentymentalnego i pesymistycznego poetę, który uważa miłość za bolesne doświadczenie i przenosi swój ból na naturę. W artykule podjęto próbę analizy sentymentalnych środków wyrazu Dayki od poezji Rettenetes éjszaka (Straszna noc) po Titkos bú (Tajemnicza melancholia).

Tytuł:: Doświadczenie (chorego) ciała w twórczości Haliny Poświatowskiej. Perspektywa somatopoetyki
Experience of the (ill) body in the works of Halina Poswiatowska. A somatopoetic perspective.

Opis:: The aim of the work is to analyze the selected works of Halina Poswiatowska with the help of tools from the field of somatopoetics. The first part is dedicated to poetry. The body was investigated in poetry and poetic prose. The lecture was constructed around sound phenomena, synaesthesia and also the cultural meaning of the senses and parts of the human body, highlighting the role of touch and the senses implied in Poswiatowska’s work by the metaphor of heart and hands. The second part follows sections of the autobiographical novel A Story for a Friend, which deal with the identity of the defective subject and the question of how the body is problematized. The aestheticization of the narrator’s appearance was considered as a defense strategy against medicine and the problem of somatic perception of the work of art was also mentioned. The question of the depiction of bodies culturally stigmatized because of a specific ontological status or because of a different skin color was also raised. The research strategy applied in this work aims to change the accents of interpretation compared to the previous treatments of Poswiatowska’s work and to highlight the functionality of somatopoetics and the broad-based discourse on the body in the analysis process of these works.
Celem pracy jest analiza wybranych utworów Haliny Poświatowskiej za pomocą narzędzi z zakresu somatopoetyki. Pierwsza część poświęcona została liryce. Zbadano sposoby uobecniania się w wierszach i prozie poetyckiej (chorego) ciała. Wywód skonstruowano wokół zjawisk brzmieniowych, synestezji a także kulturowego znaczenia zmysłów oraz części ludzkiego ciała, eksponując rolę dotyku oraz sensy implikowane w twórczości Poświatowskiej przez metaforę serca i rąk. Natomiast w drugiej części prześledzone zostały fragmenty powieści autobiograficznej pt. Opowieść dla przyjaciela, które dotyczą tożsamości podmiotu defektywnego oraz sposobów problematyzowania ciała. Rozważono zagadnienie estetyzacji wyglądu narratorki jako strategię obrony przed medykalizacją oraz problem somatycznego odbioru dzieła sztuki. Poruszona została również kwestia metody prezentacji ciał kulturowo stygmatyzowanych na skutek specyficznego statutu ontologicznego bądź ze względu na odmienny kolor skóry. Zastosowana w pracy strategia badawcza ma na celu zmianę akcentów interpretacyjnych w stosunku do dotychczasowych opracowań twórczości Poświatowskiej i wyeksponowanie funkcjonalności somatopoetyki oraz szeroko pojętego dyskursu o ciele w procesie analizy tych utworów.

Opis:: Beyond immediate references to the introductory paper, one may find in the commentaries a set of other interesting issues. They are left to another occasion, since the focus here is on remarks inviting further elaboration on the main theses’ clarification and grounding. It goes in three directions, to (i) clarify the difference between a rejection of British empiricism as a misleading theory of human cognition and a postulate to replace it with an adequate theory of cognitive reference to the truth of believes about the objects of experience in the world of human culture and civilization, (ii) dismiss from the theory of human knowledge the belief in the construction of mind-representations of the objects of cognition, and to focus instead on the relation of reference in judgments to the independent objects of knowledge within the human world, and (iii) to ground the objective status of the ideal of truth and the other values within the world of culture and civilization arrangements.

Opis:: W pracy przedstawiono wyniki analizy charakteru połączenia metalu z ceramiką w zależności od obecności warstwy opakerowej. W celu określenia charakteru połączenia przeprowadzono badania, mikroskopowe oraz mikroanalizą rentgenowską. Wyniki badań ukazały wewnętrzną strukturę badanego materiału, oraz zmianę stężeń pierwiastków pomiędzy poszczególnymi warstwami próbek. Przeprowadzone badania pozwoliły na wysuniecie wniosku, iż warstwa opakera nie tylko maskuje kolor struktury metalicznej, ale także przyczynia się do zwiększenia trwałości połączenia między metalem i ceramiką.
The research results presented in this thesis are based on analysis influencing the bond between the opaqued metallic substructure with ceramic. In order to determine the factors which influence this bond it was necessary to carry out tests consisting of microscopic and x-ray microanalysis. The test results have made it possible to identify the inner structure of the material being examined. In conclusion the test results showed that the opaque coating does not only serve aesthetic purposes by masking the dark metallic substructure but more importantly increases the durability of the metal ceramic bond.

Dark glass ellipsoid beads decorated with coloured glass threads are a relatively rare bead type that to date have mostly been found in Central Europe and the Near East. The author has located four examples of these beads in British museums, all from datable levels. This paper describes the British beads in detail and compares them with similar finds elsewhere. She also investigates the making of the beads using hot glass beadmaking skills
