The phenomenon of being intercultural or multicultural is a demographic reality resulting from globalization, talent flow, forced migration, and family reunification. Multiculturalism is slowly occurring even in countries that have not historically been receiving a large number of immigrants, such as Poland. The author describes our multicultural families in the aspect of positive sides and disadvantages.

Development of Publicly Funded eHealth in Poland : barriers and Opportunities

eHealth is a fast growing area of health care. Its development is strongly supported by the European Commission (EC). In Poland, eHealth is connected mainly to medical information systems. Little attention is given to its clinical aspects. The paper aims at describing barriers and opportunities of public eHealth development in Poland. It is based on desk search studies and interviews conducted in Poland in the spring of 2015. An attempt to estimate size of the eHealth market was made. In the study 227 eHealth (and related) tenders announced in 2009-2015 (first half of the year) were identified and analysed. The results show that eHealth is still underdeveloped in Poland, and that it is not effectively supported by central government and the National Health Fund, the public purchaser of health services, which still does not recognize eHealth as a medical procedure. Identified eHealth initiatives can be described as pilot projects.

Opis:
Purpose – This study aims to understand the role of drivers, underlying challenges and, consequently, the implications of the reverse knowledge transfer (RKT) process for the multinational enterprises (MNE)s. Design/methodology/approach – A dyadic qualitative research design was used with a cross-country design covering perspectives from both the headquarters and subsidiaries from the USA, Denmark, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. In-depth interviews were conducted with managers in multiple sectors such as information technology, telecommunications, project management and engineering. Findings – The study reveals the constraints and drivers of the RKT process, and furthermore elaborates on the implications for MNEs. RKT can lead to the development of new processes, subsidiary independence and intra-organizational knowledge transfer. Besides, it can entail challenges such as position insecurity for subsidiaries and a blurring of the MNE market vision. The findings demonstrate several implications for the MNEs. Practical implications – The study highlights the direct implications of RKT for the multinational enterprises. The findings serve as a practical guide for global managers seeking to improve their competitive edge. Originality/value – The study presents a framework of the RKT process from emerging market subsidiaries to parent companies, that demonstrates the role of drivers, underlying challenges and implications of the RKT process for the MNEs.

In this article, actions within care marketization are conceptualized as institutional entrepreneurship contesting the present practices of care production. Practices of selling and buying care are described, and the underlying power relations in two care marketization models are analyzed: outsourcing and the so called ‘second wave’, i.e. the customer choice model, in Finland. Drawing from Bourdieu’s concepts of cultural, symbolic, social and economic capital, the article highlights the relevance of capital conversions for understanding institutional entrepreneurship. It is argued that the positions and opportunities to gain a more powerful position are not solely field intern conceptions, but can be related to macro level conceptions. Exploiting such opportunities questions the challenging conception of institutional entrepreneurship, itself. Instead, it is suggested that institutional entrepreneurship can also be conceived as legitimate challenging which points that challenging and conforming may not be necessary to be separated.

Rzeszow is located in the south eastern part of Polish. Is the principal city of podkarpackie. The city is a centre of resiliently developing industry sectors, mainly aircraft and industry. In the development of Rzeszow and begins to play a greater role in tourism. Tourism plays an important role in development of local enterprise and it is an engine driving economic growth.The main tourism forms in Rzeszow are hiking tours, business tourism and transit tourism.Purpose of this study is to present opportunities for tourism development through the use of which has a city, which includes the location of the city, tourist attractions, and the appropriate tourist development. Purpose also to show the forms of promotion used by the city, and to analyze the strengths and weaknesses as Rzeszow center tourism.
Rzeszów położony jest w południowo wschodniej część Polski. Jest to stolica województwa podkarpackiego. Miasto jest ośrodkiem prężnie rozwijających się gałęzi przemysłu przede wszystkim branży lotniczej i handlowej. W rozwoju Rzeszowa coraz większą rolę zaczyna odgrywać turystyka. Pełni ona ważną funkcję w rozwoju lokalnej przedsiębiorczości, jest motorem napędzającym wzrost gospodarczy. Najważniejszymi formami turystyki, rozwijającymi się w Rzeszowie są turystyka krajoznawcza, biznesowa oraz tranzytowa.Celem pracy jest ukazanie szans rozwoju turystyki poprzez wykorzystanie potencjału jakie posiada miasto, w którego skład wchodzą: położenie, walory turystyczne odpowiednie zagospodarowanie turystyczne. Celem jest również ukazanie form promocyjnych stosowanych przez miasto, oraz analizę silnych i słabych stron Rzeszowa, jako ośrodka turystycznego.

This paper analyses the influence of ownership, board of directors, and financial leverage on companies’ performance when these either face, or do not face, profitable growth opportunities. Towards that end we examined a sample of 83 listed Mexican firms during the period 2005-2011. The results confirm the relevance of debt and board of directors in terms of firm market value by showing a negative relationship between performance and both, board of directors and leverage, in the presence of growth opportunities. In contrast, the relationship between debt and performance becomes positive when firms have no profitable investment projects. The results also demonstrate that the relevance of controlling shareholders on firm value is different when firms have or not growth opportunities. Therefore, our results show that ownership structure, composition and size of board and the level of leverage play a dual role on performance (increase or decrease the firm value) and determinewhether the firms have profitable investment projects.

Opis:
The aim of this paper is to present the possibilities and prospects for the development of modern criminalistics. Discussion of this matter is of importance due to the observa-tion that criminalistics has, of late, lost its original form. The new techniques, including forensic analysis and biometrics, for example, are applied in traditional criminalistics. Fields of knowledge such as forensic archeology and forensic entomology play a signifi-cant role in solving common crimes and are also gradually forming part of criminalistics. There are still no effective tools, however, to combat economic crime. This paper presents the research capabilities that academic research institutes have in this field and possible ways to equip the authority conducting the proceedings with algorithms for identify-ing and combating economic crime. The paper is divided into three parts. The first part demonstrates the shortcomings of criminalistics in terms of the fight against economic crime. The second part presents the author’s achievements, such as establishing the types of economic opinions and presenting typical traces of economic crime. The third part presents the possibilities for further development of criminalistics.
