Opis:: This article analyzes the problem of opposite flow that may occur during the evacuation of people from passenger ships. The causes of evacuation opposite flow and methods of its investigation are given. Besides, the methods of taking account of opposite flow in evacuation models are analyzed. It is proposed to search for the critical value of density depending on the number of persons moving in the opposite direction.
Artykuł porusza zagadnienie ruchu przeciwbieżnego, który może wystąpić podczas ewakuacji ludzi ze statków pasażerskich. Podane są przyczyny i metody szacowania wpływu ruchu przeciwbieżnego na przebieg ewakuacji oraz sposoby uwzględniania tego ruchu w modelach ewakuacji. Przedstawione są teoretyczne założenia do metody poszukiwania krytycznej wartości zagęszczenia osób poruszających się w przeciwnych kierunkach.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie wyników badań dotyczących postrzegania marki klubu przeciwnika przez kibiców Wisły Kraków (n=315) oraz MKS Cracovia (n=261). W badaniach określono zależności występujące pomiędzy identyfikacją z własnym klubem, poziomem niechęci do drużyny przeciwnej oraz wizerunkiem jej marki, jak również postawy wobec sponsora przeciwnika.
The sport rivalry between football teams is reflected in the attitudes of fans who identify themselves with those clubs. It is particularly visible when the teams come from the same city or region, which is exemplified by the rivalry between the two largest Kraków football clubs -Wisła Kraków and MKS Cracovia. The aim of the study is to present, how the club’s brand is perceived by the opponent's supporters - from Wisła Kraków (n=315) and MKS Cracovia (n=261). In the research presented the correlations between identification with one's team, the level of antipathy to the opposite team and its brand image, as well as the attitudes of fans towards the opposite team's sponsor were determiened.

Opis:: The paper presents possibilities of change working parameters of two-stroke diesel engine with opposed pistons. Obtaining of higher engine efficiency is realized by applying of Atkinson cycle. Modification of scavenging process by changing pistons' position connecting with two crankshafts enables asymmetrical scavenge timing. Decreasing of shorter time of closing exhaust ports before compression process and longer expansion process give higher engine work and with high charging ratio increases engine power. These types of engines are recently recommended for power plant stations. The paper includes full analysis of engine work with scavenge and combustion processes for different timing phases based on geometry of the CI Leyland L60 engine by using of CFD modelling and own 0D model. Simulation tests indicate a high scavenge efficiency, good penetration of injected fuel and fast combustion process. The work contains figures of pressure, temperature traces and emission of main chemical species in exhaust gases with comparison of engine works for different timing phases. Atkinson cycle in two-cycle work of engine and full combustion process enables to achieve high total efficiency. The study is an input for realization of such processes in a future of power plant engines with different fuelling systems.

Opis:: In gymnosperms compression wood is a specialised type of structural cell wall formed in response to biomechanical stresses. The differences in terms of gross structure, ultrastructure and chemistry are well-known. However, the differences between compression wood, normal wood, and opposite wood regarding the arrangements and interactions of the various polymers and water within their cell walls still needs to be established. The analysis of 13C-labelled Pinus radiata by solid-state NMR spectroscopy and other complementary techniques revealed several new aspects of compression and opposite wood molecular architecture. Compared to normal wood, compression wood has a lower water content, its overall nanoporosity is reduced, and the water and matrix polymers have a lower molecular mobility. Galactan, which is a specific marker of compression wood, is broadly distributed within the cell wall, disordered, and not aligned with cellulose, and is found to be in close proximity to xylan. Dehydroabietic acid (a resin acid) is immobilised and close to the H-lignin only in compression wood. Although the overall molecular mobility of normal wood and opposite wood are similar, opposite wood has different arabinose conformations, a large increase in the amount of chain ends, contains significantly more galactan and has additional unassigned mobile components highlighting the different molecular arrangement of cell wall polymers in opposite and normal wood.

Opis:: Badania nad słownikiem umysłowym wskazują na istnienie zdeterminowanych zasad, którymi kieruje się człowiek przy wyborze określonego słowa w puli swojego słownika umysłowego. Świadomość istnienia tych zasad skłania badacza do ich poznania w tak dokładny sposób, na ile jest to tylko możliwe. Niniejsza praca przedstawia analizę tylko niektórych skojarzeń na wybrane bodźce, co świadczy o obszerności badanego zagadnienia. Bodźcami w badaniu były popularne przymiotniki opisujące cechy ludzkie. Interesującymi nas odpowiedziami są reakcje typu przeciwieństwo. Niniejsza praca pokazuje, jaka jest zależność pomiędzy ilością podawanych odpowiedzi na bodźce podstawowe i zaprzeczone o różnym znaku afektywnym. Bodźce zostały podzielone na trzy grupy w zależności od swojej struktury gramatycznej i znaczeniowej: antonimiczne, niesłownikowe oraz gradacyjne. Wyniki badań różnią się dla poszczególnych grup. Niemniej jednak w niektórych grupach udało się potwierdzić postawione hipotezy o wpływie formy i znaku afektywnego przymiotnika na ilość podawanych odpowiedzi osób badanych. Badanie własne zostało przeprowadzone za pomocą metody swobodnych skojarzeń, która pozwala określić pierwsze skojarzenie osoby badanej.
The research on mental dictionary indicates the existence of determined rules a person is governed by while choosing a particular word within his or her mental dictionary. The awareness of the existence of these rules leads the researcher to explore them as much as possible. This thesis provides the analysis of only a few responses to stimuli, which attests to the complexity of the issue. The stimuli in the described research are popular personality adjectives, and the research subject is connected to opposite reactions to them. The thesis shows the relationship between the amount of answers to the basic and negative stimuli which varied in affective aspects. The stimuli are divided into three categories due to their grammatical and semantic structures: antonymic, non-lexical and gradable. The results vary for individual groups. However, in some of them it was possible to confirm the posed hypothesis about the influence of the type and affective aspect of the adjective on the number of answers given by the respondents. The survey was conducted with the use of free association method which enables to determine the first association of the respondent.

Opis:: The goal of the present research was to find correlations between the topographic attributes of a river valley and local ground-floor vegetation and its habitat requirements expressed by ecological indicator values (EIV), using the geographical information systems (GIS), digital elevation model (DEM), and multivariate statistical analysis. We paid special attention to the river course, which determines the differentiation in slope aspects and the amount of solar radiation reaching the ground surface. The model object was an almost latitudinal, ca. 4-km-long break section of the Sopot river, crossing the escarpment zone of the Central Roztocze Highlands, southeastern Poland. The main material comprised species lists (with estimated abundance) for each ca. 200-m-long section, according to the river valley course, separately for the left and right riverbanks, 40 sections altogether, ca. 15 000 vegetation records, and physical and chemical soil measurements. A 3-meter resolution DEM was derived from a 1:10 000 topographic map. We calculated the correlations between the topographic attributes of the valley, species richness, and the EIVs for all the species recognized in each section of the valley. We found 241 herb plant species in the ground-floor vegetation of the study area. We did not find significant differences between the two riversides (61 ±13 species per one section for the left and 63 ±17 for the right side). Thus, the parallel course of the river valley does not change the species richness on a more “sunny” and more “shiny” riverbank. However, this factor “cooperating” with other topographic attributes of the valley significantly differentiates the shape of species showing various requirements for basic habitat resources: light, moisture, soil trophy, reaction, dispersion, and organic-matter content.

Attitudes about the close relationship romantic yet willingness to purchase goods that enhance the attractiveness and willingness to betray

Opis:: The aim of the study was to test whether attitudes towards the quality of the current romantic relationship affect the propensity to acquire goods - products/services that enhance attractiveness to the opposite sex (for example: a haircut, elegant clothing); and whether attitudes towards the quality of the current romantic relationship affect the tendency to infidelity. Attitudes regarding the quality of the current relationship was investigated by evaluating the compound in the sphere: satisfaction, intimacy and a sense of influence. Takers were users of literary forums, declaring stay at least six months in a close relationship romantic. Finally, the results of the study included 104 persons, aged 18 to 57 years. The subjects filled out an online survey consisting of questionnaires to measure the level: the sense of the impact, proximity, satisfaction, preferences of goods that enhances the attractiveness. At the end, takers answered the questions concerning the readiness for infidelity. Not been shown to affect attitudes regarding the quality of the current romantic relationship in the sphere of satisfaction, intimacy and a sense of the impact on the preferences of acquiring goods that enhance the attractiveness of the opposite sex. It has been shown impact of attitudes regarding the quality of the current romantic relationship in the areas of: proximity, satisfaction and a sense of influence in relation to readiness for infidelity.
Celem badania było sprawdzenie czy postawy dotyczące jakości aktualnego związku romantycznego wpływają na skłonność do pozyskania dóbr –produktów/usług, które zwiększają atrakcyjność dla płci przeciwnej (np. wizyta u fryzjera, elegancka odzież); a także czy postawy dotyczące jakości aktualnego związku romantycznego wpływają na skłonność do zdrady. Postawy dotyczące jakości aktualnego związku badano poprzez ocenę związku w sferze: satysfakcji, bliskości oraz poczucia wpływu. Osobami badanymi byli użytkownicy forów literackich, deklarujący pozostawanie przynajmniej sześć miesięcy w bliskim związku romantycznym. Ostatecznie w badaniu uwzględniono wyniki 104 osób, w wieku od 18 do 57 lat. Badani wypełniali ankietę internetową składającą się z kwestionariuszy mierzących poziom: poczucia wpływu, bliskości, satysfakcji w związku oraz preferencji dóbr zwiększających atrakcyjność, a następnie udzielali pytania dotyczącego gotowości do zdrady. Nie wykazano wpływu postaw dotyczących jakości aktualnego związku romantycznego w sferze satysfakcji, bliskości oraz poczucia wpływu na preferencje pozyskania dóbr zwiększających atrakcyjność u płci przeciwnej. Wykazano wpływ postaw dotyczących jakości aktualnego związku romantycznego w sferach: bliskości, zadowolenia i poczucia wpływu w związku na gotowość do zdrady.

Legal analysis of gender reassignment procedure under Polish law - considerations de lege lata and de lege ferenda. Selected aspects of civil law

Opis:: The situation of transsexual people in Poland is very complicated. Polish law does not regulate this matter and, as a consequence, the procedure of the gender reassignment is based on the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of Poland.This master’s thesis is divided into five chapters.In the first chapter, the phenomenon of transsexualism is approximated and an attempt to create a definition of a gender is made. The second chapter contains the analysis of the current legal situation, including the evaluation of solutions applied by the judicature. One of the issues considered is the fact that it is admissible to bring a civil action, in accordance with the article 189 of the Polish Code of the Civil Procedure, as well as the issue of litigants, to the civil process. Another point discussed includes ways of ending a marriage of a transsexual person. What is more, it is possible to annul a certificate of a civil status or to include the additional reference in it after the judgement has been passed. The third chapter contains a brief summary of judicature, which, over past decades, has taken up the subject of transsexualism and gender reassignment procedure - along with the estimation of the solution used.The fourth and fifth chapter include the evaluation of the vetoed bill about the procedure of the gender reassignment and the presentation of de lege ferenda postulates, including the presentation of the hypothetic bill.
Sytuacja osób transseksualnych w Polsce jest bardzo skomplikowana. Prawo polskie nie reguluje tej materii i w związku z tym procedura zmiany płci opiera się na orzeczeniach Sądu Najwyższego.Praca magisterska została podzielona na 5 rozdziałów. W pierwszym rozdziale przybliżone zostało zjawisko transseksualizmu oraz podjęta została próba stworzenia definicji płci. Rozdział drugi to analiza obecnej sytuacji prawnej, w tym ocena stosowanych przez judykaturę rozwiązań. Zwrócono uwagę między innymi na dopuszczalność wytoczenia powództwa w trybie art. 189 Kodeksu postępowania cywilnego, kwestię kręgu osób pozwanych w procesie, a także omówione zostały sposoby zakończenia małżeństwa osoby transseksualnej wytaczającej powództwo. Zwrócono też uwagę na dopuszczalność sprostowania aktu stanu cywilnego lub dokonania w nim wzmianki dodatkowej po wydaniu wyroku przez sąd. Rozdział trzeci zawiera skrótowe przedstawienie orzecznictwa, które w ciągu ostatnich kilkudziesięciu lat poruszało tematykę transseksualizmu i procedury zmiany płci – wraz z oceną stosowanych rozwiązań. Rozdział czwarty i piąty to analiza zawetowanej ustawy o uzgodnieniu płci z 2015 roku oraz przedstawienie postulatów de lege ferenda, w tym zaprezentowanie przykładowego projektu ustawy.
