Opis:
Management of organisations in a global economy, globalisation and governance, and progressively wider and deeper integration processes put forth to managers different levels of hierarchical, multi-dimensional requirements in the sphere of competence, mainly in the fields of knowledge, competences and experience – including managerial competences, personality traits, ethical and moral behaviour (the system goals and values). In the twenty-first century economy based on knowledge and innovation, the manager is the one who has a huge impact on the development of the organisation, a person with a unique opportunity to create his own ideas. This paper discusses various competences of managerial level staff which are a prerequisite for successful organisation management. Among others the following competences are elaborated on: leadership, negotiating, interpersonal, team-working, technical, knowledge management and managerial competences. It is stressed that every manager, regardless of the level of management, position and functions, needs to be effective and efficient in managerial activities. Therefore knowledge and managerial competences, personality, experience, intelligence, imagination, are the key traits that should characterise a manager.
Zarządzanie organizacjami w gospodarce globalnej oraz coraz szersze i głębsze procesy integracyjne stawiają przed współczesnymi menedżerami różnych szczebli kierowniczych wielowymiarowe wymagania w zakresie kompetencji.

Opis:
The study aimed to conclude on the up-to-date state of the organisational ecology theory concerning relations between organisational ageing and organisational ecology, enhanced by social and ecological systems and ecological management. The applied method included analytical and reflective concluding, based on the synthesis of findings from a critical literature review. It was concluded that: (i) organisational ageing generates some of the most important consequences in organisational ecology; however, there is still no consensus on what kind of consequences prevail; (ii) at population level, the adaptation of organisational structures occurs with the replacement of old organisations that fail to adapt by the new ones; (iii) under the prevalent backdrop of radical structural and strategic changes, individual organisations are subject to inertial forces and thus are confronted with limitations to their success; (iv) ageing has positive consequences for innovative activities of older companies; and (v) the higher the density and concentration of industry, the higher the rates of founding firms and the lower the rates of mortality.

Opis:
Aviation as a new weapon emerged at the beginning of the 20th century. The event that influenced its development was the course of the First World War. It was not the decisive factor in determining the fate of the war, however, its dynamic development in the final stage of the war could indicate its great importance in the future. The development of military aviation was the domain of the military authorities. The popularisation campaign and the development of appropriate flight training programs were entrusted to the civilian authorities. The establishment of appropriate organisations was needed to effectively engage the public in cooperation. Sport aviation and gliding excelled in preparing young people for service in airborne combat units and transport aviation. Their development in Europe in the inter-war period proceeded in two ways. The first was the creation of organisations by administrative orders, which took place in Germany, Russia and Italy. The second was the skilful use of social initiatives linked to aviation interests, appropriately coordinated by the state and supported by subsidies, as was the case in England and France. The purpose of the establishment of these organisations and activities was to popularise and train aviation in the widest circles of society and to prepare it for a possible airborne threat.

Opis:
The effi ciency of operation of hierarchical organisations (military, police, State Fire Service, Border Guard, etc.) is largely derived from the effectiveness of the work of commanders (managers) at all levels. It is they who indicate the goals of the activity, assign tasks to subordinates and coordinate their work. At the same time, they have the personal, material, fi nancial, and information resources necessary to perform the assigned tasks. Therefore, it seems important to properly understand the role and tasks that commanders/managers perform in hierarchical organisations. The necessity to take up this issue results mainly from the change in the scope of tasks and the structural and organisational changes of these formations (the army, the Police of the State Fire Service). The increasingly broader spectrum of tasks set for our army, police and fi re brigades results in a permanent modifi cation in the fi eld of skills and qualifi cations of modern commanders. In the process of analysing these changes, one should take into account the scientifi c basis derived from the chievements of the theory of organisation and management as well as one’s own solutions and experience in this area. The article presents selected aspects of the role and tasks of modern commanders (managers) as well as shortcomings in the organisation of work by a manager/commander. Hence, after defi ning the role of the commander, their tasks in the form of duties and powers are described. Effi cient and effective operation of commanders requires a number of activities and specific skills. Therefore, the description of activities and leadership skills is a logical complement to the chapter. Moreover, the essential functions and roles performed by commanders are highly correlated with the basic roles of managers in civil organisations. Therefore, the analogies between the work of commanders and the work of managers in civil organisations were also taken into account.

Autorzy:
Woźniak, Anna
Opis:
Cel pracy stanowi charakterystyka i ocena występujących powiązań pomiędzy działaniami marketingowymi organizacji pożytku publicznego a pozyskiwanymi środkami finansowymi pochodzącymi z tytułu jednego procenta podatku dochodowego od osób fizycznych.
The aim of this study is a characteristic and evaluation of the relationship between marketing operations of public benefit organizations and funds raised from one per cent of personal income tax. The author conducted a study by collating theoretical basis of marketing basics, functioning of public benefit organizations and the mechanism of the one percent allocation in the Polish legal system with the marketing operations of the organization in recent years, carried out to gain profits arising from aforementioned one per cent. A complement for the issues discussed is a synthesis of chosen nongovernmental organizations' insight on the one per cent and an analysis of profits arising from the applied marketing techniques. The study demonstrates a crucial role of the one per cent in the functioning of voluntary sector subjects, at the same time presenting certain conditions, whose realization is essential for the organization to gain profits from the discussed mechanism.

Opis:
Intuition may be defined as understanding or knowing something without conscious recourse to thought, observation or reason. Some see this unmediated process as somehow mystical while others describe intuition as being a response to unconscious cues or implicitly apprehended prior learning. It is one of the untapped and less acknowledged human resource. Most people do not know about their inner capability and do not use it. However, a lot of research proves that this capability can be used in an organization with very good effects.
