Opis:: Nauczanie ortografii to proces długotrwały, wymagający systematyczności i zaangażowania nauczyciela i uczniów. Trudności w opanowaniu poprawnej pisowni powoduje abstrakcyjny charakter i bogactwo treści ortograficznych. Warunkiem osiągania sukcesów na polu ortografii w edukacji wczesnoszkolnej jest znajomość i stosowanie zasad nauczania ortografii. Należą do nich: zasada profilaktyki, zasada systematyczności i ciągłości, zasada integracji poszczególnych działów ćwiczeń językowych, zasada przystępności i stopniowania wymagań, zasada poglądowości, zasada aktywności ucznia oraz zasada kontroli i oceny. Odpowiednie przygotowanie metodyczne nauczyciela do nauczania ortografii sprawi, że nauka poprawnej pisowni stanie się łatwa i przyjemna. Należy dołożyć wszel kich starań, aby uczniowie nie kojarzyli nauki ortografii z porażką i niską oceną.
Teaching orthography is a long term process, requiring orderliness and commitment of teachers and students alike. Difficulties in mastering a proper spelling is caused by abstractive character and rich amount of orthographic content. Condition of achieving success in orthography in early school education is knowledge and usage of rules of teaching orthography. They include: rule of prevention, rule of orderliness and continuity , rule of integration of specific parts of language exercises, rules of approachability and scaling of requirements, rule of opinion, rule of student’s activity and rule of control and grading. Proper preparation of teachers in teaching orthography will make teaching a proper spelling easy and pleasant.

Opis:: The aim of the article is to analyse orthographic errors in Russian postcard messages from the second half of the 20th century. Nearly 240 orthographic errors retrieved from a corpus consisting of approximately 1000 Russian postcards have been classified and examined. The results of the study present the most common mistakes occurring in this type of correspondence.

Opis:: This article proposes changes to the spelling of names of topographic objects. In the author’s opinion, the changes would contribute to the simplification of the spelling of a large group of words and would be consistent with the orthographic practice of a significant number of language users. Topographic names could be spelled according to the rules applicable to geographic names, that is e.g. Rondo Dmowskiego, Cmentarz Łyczakowski, Restauracja pod Dębem, Hala Kopińska, but: hala Wola. It is also proposed to spell the names of inhabitants of towns, cities, villages, and districts with the capital letter, by analogy to the spelling of the names of inhabitants of countries or geographic regions, that is e.g. Gdańszczanin, Chorzowianka. These solutions were proposed by the author already in 2019 at a session of Zespół Ortograficzno-Onomastyczny (Team for Orthography and Onomastics) by Rada Języka Polskiego (Council for the Polish Language).

Opis:: W związku z 80. rocznicą wprowadzenia tzw. narkamauki oraz 95. rocznicą publikacji pierwszego wydania Białoruskiej gramatyki dla szkół autorstwa Bronisława Taraszkiewicza, w artykule analizowane są osobliwości występujące pomiędzy dwoma wariantami pisowni białoruskiej (narkamauka i taraszkiewica) na przykładzie czasownika. Wybrane przykłady pokazują różnice dotyczące: bezokolicznika, koniugacji w czasie teraźniejszym, czasowników zwrotnych, czasu przeszłego i przyszłego, trybu rozkazującego i przypuszczającego oraz imiesłowów. Analiza konfrontuje warianty z trzech wydań (z lat: 1918, 1929, 1943) Białoruskiej gramatyki dla szkół autorstwa Bronisława Taraszkiewicza z oficjalnymi wydaniami z różnych lat. W artykule uwzględniono także formy dialektalne oraz komentarze białoruskich językoznawców.
In connection with the 80th anniversary of the introduction of narkamauka and 95th anniversary of the publication of the first edition of Belarussian grammar for schools by Bronislav Tarashkevich, the paper shows differences between two standards of the Belarusian language, the so called “narkamauka” (the variant of the Belarusian language used after the language reform from 1933, including later language changes up to present day) and the so called “tarashkevica” (the variant of the Belarusian language presented by Bronislav Tarashkevich in his grammar of the Belarusian language). The differences are exemplified by an analysis of issues related to the verb. The paper contains an in-depth analysis of the language material included in three editions (1918, 1929, 1943) of the grammar of Bronislav Tarashkevich. The examples included in these editions are compared with modern standards of the Belarusian language. The comparison also includes Belarusian dialects and various comments of Belarusian linguists, especially Jan Stankievich. The analysis shows that the differences between two standards of the Belarusian language are more profound and concern not only orthography.

Opis:: The e-learning course is one of the most efficient and promising didactic policies. It must be grounded on the revision because it was proved that it enhances the longterm memory. However, human mind is not a uniform phenomenon. Each man memorizes and learns in a different manner. The purpose of the intelligent e-learning system presented in this paper is to teach orthography and this system is based on the multilayer neural network. The acquisition of the Danish sound system can be a difficult task for both native and non-native speakers. This paper is an attempt at showing the ways in which /r/ contributes to the system’s overall complexity. It is suggested that /r/-related difficulties in Danish are due to the impact /r/ has on the neighboring sounds and, as a result, on the relations between graphemes, phonemes and sounds. Several phenomena connected with the presence of /r/ in various contexts are presented to exemplify the above statement, including r-coloring (i.e. the change of the quality of the neighboring vowel), the fusion of /r/ with neighboring vowels and the interactions between /r/ and /ə/, resulting in a change of vowel length and/or the assimilation of [ə]. The analysis focuses mainly on the grapheme-sound relations and the ways /r/ affects the discrepancy between Danish orthography and pronunciation.

Opis:: This paper is an attempt to account for the number and frequency of individual characters in the Gothic corpus. The first section explains the foundation of this statistical study, i.e. the text used and the number of characters in the main text of individual Gothic documents. The second section contains a more detailed study of all the characters in the Gothic manuscripts, and in a subsection an attempt is made to extend this study to phonemes (or principal speech sounds). The third section treats the numerals and the fourth concludes. All numbers occurring in the Gothic corpus are listed in the Appendix.
