Opis:
When slow and fast controlled dynamics are coupled, the variational limit, as the ratio of time scales grows, is best depicted as a trajectory in a probability measures space. The effective control is then an invariant measure on the fast state-control space. The paper presents the form of the Pontryagin Maximum Principle for this variational limit and examines its relation to the Maximum Principle of the perturbed system.

Opis:
In this paper, we review an acoustic method for measuring both average ocean current speed and sound speed along an acoustic path. The method requires two or more stations on the sea floor, synchronized through a connecting underwater electric cable, that can transmit and receive an acoustic signal and The method is based on reciprocal acoustic transmissions to determine time of flight in both the forward and reverse directions. A specific implementation of this method is proposed. We also consider a novel method for monitoring ocean current perturbations through acoustic phase measurements. In simplest form, a continuous sinusoidal signal is transmitted from one station to a second station. Any variations in ocean current speed will introduce a phase shift in the received signal proportional to the time derivative of the current speed. This effect has been demonstrated through ultrasonic in-air experiments. Finally, the two methods are combined into a single system that continuously measures small-scale ocean current velocity changes.

Let A, B and C be matrices. We consider the matrix equations Y-AYB=C and AX-XB=C. Sharp norm estimates for solutions of these equations are derived. By these estimates a bound for the distance between invariant subspaces of matrices is obtained.

Opis:
This paper concerns the performance analysis of a fractional-order vehicle mechatronic ISD suspension with parameter perturbation. A dynamic model of the vehicle mechatronic ISD suspension based on a fractional-order electrical network is constructed. The superiority of the vibration isolation performance of the fractional-order ISD suspension is demonstrated, and the dynamic performance of the suspension is analyzed considering perturbation of parameters. Results show that the inertance has an important role when the frequency is above 103 Hz, and the fractional inductance order and fractional capacitance order have significant impact in the frequency range of 10−2 Hz to 102 Hz.

In this note we explore the concept of the logarithmic norm of a matrix and illustrate its applicability by using it to find conditions under which the convergence of solutions of regularly perturbed systems of ordinary differential equations is uniform globally in time.

Opis:
External factors can disrupt postural control, but the intricate workings of the postural control system enable an appropriate response. This study seeks to assess how external perturbations affect postural control. Methods: Twenty women participated in study, which consisted four trials involved quiet standing and experiencing induced perturbations by being struck with a boxing bag from the back, right, and left sides, respectively. The center of pressure (CoP) path length was recorded for each of the mentioned trials. Sample Entropy (SampEn), Lyapunov Exponent (LyE), and Fractal Dimension (FD) were computed for the CoP time series, separately for the anterior-posterior (AP) and mediolateral (ML) directions. The nonparametric Friedman ANOVA with Dunn-Bonferroni post-hoc analysis was employed to investigate the influence of external perturbations on both linear and nonlinear parameters on postural control. Results: The post-hoc analysis showed for LyE_AP_quiet (1.02 ± 0.18) significantly higher values than for LyE_AP_right (0.92 ± 0.22) and significantly higher for LyE_AP_left. Lyapunov Exponent was the parameter that differentiated the most between samples. Conclusions: The greatest number of significant differences between samples were demonstrated by the Lyapunov Exponent. This nonlinear parameter should be used to evaluate various perturbations during upright position in healthy subjects.

Opis:
The maglev trains are strongly nonlinear and open-loop unstable systems with external disturbances and parameters uncertainty. In this paper, the Gaussian process method is utilized to get the dynamic parameters, and a backstepping sliding mode controller is proposed for magnetic levitation systems (MLS) of maglev trains. That is, for a MLS of a maglev train, a nonlinear dynamic model with accurate parameters is obtained by the Gaussian process regression method, based on which a novel robust control algorithm is designed. Specifically, the MLS is divided into two sub-systems by a backstepping method. The inter virtual control inputs and the Lyapunov function are constructed in the first sub-system. For the second sub-system, the sliding mode surface is constructed to fulfil the design of the whole controller to asymptotically regulate the airgap to a desired trajectory. The stability of the proposed control method is analyzed by the Lyapunov method. Both simulation and experimental results are included to illustrate the superior performance of the presented method to cope with parameters perturbations and external disturbance.

Opis:
This paper generalizes the dynamic growth model with wealth accumulation, technological change and environmental change by Zhang (2012) by making all the parameters as time-dependent parameters. The model treats physical capital accumulation, knowledge creation and utilization, and environmental change as endogenous variables. It synthesizes the basic ideas of the neoclassical growth theory, Arrow’s learning-by-doing model and the traditional dynamic models of environmental change within a comprehensive framework. The behavior of the household is described with an alternative approach to household behavior. We simulated the model to demonstrate existence of equilibrium points, motion of the dynamic system, and oscillations due to different exogenous shocks.

Opis:
Given a signed graph $ \dot{G} $, let $ A_{ \dot{G} } $ and $ D_{\dot{G}}^\pm $ denote its standard adjacency matrix and the diagonal matrix of vertex net-degrees, respectively. The net Laplacian matrix of $ \dot{G} $ is defined to be $ N_{ \dot{G} } = D_{\dot{G}}^\pm - A_{ \dot{G} } $. In this study we give some properties of the eigenvalues of $ N_{ \dot{G} } $. In particular, we consider their behaviour under some edge perturbations, establish some relations between them and the eigenvalues of the standard Laplacian matrix and give some lower and upper bounds for the largest eigenvalue of $ N_{ \dot{G} } $.
