Opis:
Monitoring of structures and other different field objects undoubtedly belongs to the main issues of modern engineering. The use of technologies making it possible to implement structural monitoring makes it possible to build an integrated risk management approach combining instrumental solutions with geoinformation systems. In the studies of engineering structures, there is physical monitoring mainly used for examining the physical state of the object - so-called SHM ("Structural Health Monitoring"). However, very important role is also played by geodetic monitoring systems (GMS). The progress observed in the field of IT and automatics has opened new possibilities of using integrated systems on other, often large-scale objects. Based on the current state-of-the-art, the article presents the concept of integration approaches of physical and geodetic monitoring systems in order to develop useful guidelines for further construction of an expert risk management system.

Opis:
The tracking of moving objects with the use of GPS/GNSS or other techniques is relied upon in numerous applications, from health monitoring and physical activity support, to social investigations to detection of fraud in transportation. While monitoring movement, a common subtask consists in determining the object’s moving periods, and its immobility periods. In this paper, we isolate the mathematical problem of automatic detection of a stop of tracking objects under the stream processing regime (ideal data processing algorithm regime) in which one is allowed to use only a constant amount of memory, while the stream of GNSS positions of the tracked object increases in size. We propose an approximation scheme of the stop detection problem based on the fuzziness in the approximation of noise level related to the position reported by GNSS. We provide a solving algorithm that determines some upper bounds for the problem’s complexity. We also provide an experimental illustration of the problem at hand.

Opis:
Tracking motion activities through pedometer applications is one of the methods often mentioned for getting information about motion programs and for promoting a healthy lifestyle among adolescents. Similar problems are also addressed in the region of Northwestern Bohemia which is affected by certain structural characteristics. Aim of Study: This study strives to establish indicators of participation in physical activities among students in the second level of primary school (junior high school) and to evaluate them based on recommended criteria as well as from the point of view of the conclusions reached by other studies. Material and Methods: Physical activity was monitored concurrently and objectively by the Yamax SW-700 pedometer for seven consecutive days. Pedometers have proven themselves in a number of studies and are particularly suitable for assessing locomotive movement activities. Identification and recording sheets were used for the registration of the 358 boys and 330 girls from the second level of primary school (junior high school) in the Ústí nad Labem region who went through our survey. Pedometers were used during a period of favorable weather conditions and in the course of normal school attendance. Results: Groups of boys report different values throughout the second level of primary school (junior high school), where the average values of steps during weekdays is higher than 10,000 steps (Mmin=10,111; Mmax=10,961), which is the recommended number of steps, while the weekends record a decrease of values of steps to a number which is less than average (Mmin=8,547; Mmax=9,761). In regard to the results of the girls, the number of daily steps is lower than in the boys' groups (Mmin=9,247; Mmax=10,598). Girls results show the lowest values of steps during the weekend. Conclusion: Boys achieve higher daily values than girls in all tracked pointers. The values of steps that are typical for weekdays are significantly higher than those typical for weekend days. The lowest levels are the median values characterizing the steps taken during the weekend days for boys and girls.

Opis:
In the last decades, research into slope transformation, especially transformation caused by debris flows and shallow landslides has set great store by the establishment of thresholds based on the relation of mean rainfall intensity to its duration. The present author is no exception. In the 1970s, after examining that relationship he distinguished three main types of extreme rainfalls (heavy downpours, continuous rains and rainy seasons). In this paper, while noting the great diversity of extreme events in space and time, he stresses the function of extremely high rainfall intensity in triggering off the slope transformation. Taking into account the role of such parameters as the effect of substrate, relief and land use on the distribution of precipitation into overland flow, subsurface runoff, and ground water storage, he proposes several models that connect geomorphic processes with different types of extreme rainfalls. In critical comments to the establishment of thresholds based only on mean daily rainfall and mean rainfall intensity he follow the opinion on limitation of factors to standart climatic and hydrologic and hydrologic data presented earlier by T. Dunne and A. Freeze. This analysis also notes the role of clusterings of events in various climatic zones and stresses the need of continuous monitoring of rainfall intensity and any other aspects of water circulation on slopes. All of those elements are indispensable for the construction of a more diversified pattern of thresholds.

Opis:
The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of water in lake Batllava, through which, a part of the population of the Pristina region is supplied with drinkable water. Lake Batlava is a lake built in the 1970s. This lake is located in the village of Batlava in the municipality of Podujeva. The supply of this lake with water is made from the Brvenica river. Monitoring was finished during the period from December 2020 to May 2021. The sample were taken in three championic places: at the entrance of the lake, in the middle and in the spill, on two levels, in the surface and at depth of 30 cm. The analyzed microbiological parameters are: total coliforms, fecal coliforms, fecal streptococci and aerobic mesophilic bacteria. The physical-chemical parameters are: dissolved oxygen, saturation with O2, water temperature, pH value, electrical conductivity, total soluble matter, total suspended matter, turbidity, chemical demand for oxygen, biochemical demand for oxygen, total organic carbon, nitrate, total solidity of calcium, magnesium, ammonia ion, chloride, sulphates, fluurite, M-alkalines, bicarbonates and heavy metals, such as: Fe, Pb, Mn, Cu, Cd. The results showed that most physical-chemical and microbiological parameters are within the limit allowed by the WHO and EPA, except in some cases where during the precipitation season there have been several overruns and for this reason, it is recommended to take monthly monitoring of the water of Lake Batllava to achieve a real assessment.
