Opis:
Application of the pile joining is a new solution of the complex pile foundation including the base, made in the ground, and the piles joining the base with the girt. This kind of piles can be used for foundation under special geological conditions (proglacial stream valleys) for foundation reinforcement of the existing buildings and new foundations. The solution proposed may be used in the swelling soils. In this work, the possibilities of applying joining piles in different soils, like fine sands, silts, clays, clay shale, sandstones, which can be the foundation for the pales have been considered.

Opis:
The possibilities of using concrete piles in a polymer composite reinforced with glass fibres in offshore facilities were shown. Laboratory tests of CFGFRPT type piles compressed axially and in eccentric compression for the analysis of CFGFRPT piles were used. Methods of analysis of dynamic systems for mathematical modelling of the displacement of the hammer in the pile driving process were applied. The possibilities of combining CFGFRPT piles, including the creation of hybrid piles were also presented. For example, concrete piles can be combined with concrete piles in a polymer composite reinforced with glass fibres with different fibre beam angles. The possibilities of using such hybrid piles in offshore facilities were indicated.

Opis:
Ordinary pile bearing capacity tests are usually carried out to determine the relationship between load and displacement of pile head. The measurement system required in such tests consists of force transducer and three or four displacement gauges. The whole system is installed at the pile head above the ground level. This approach, however, does not give us complete information about the pile–soil interaction. We can only determine the total bearing capacity of the pile, without the knowledge of its distribution into the shaft and base resistances. Much more information can be obtained by carrying out a test of instrumented pile equipped with a system for measuring the distribution of axial force along its core. In the case of pile model tests the use of such measurement is difficult due to small scale of the model. To find a suitable solution for axial force measurement, which could be applied to small scale model piles, we had to take into account the following requirements: – a linear and stable relationship between measured and physical values, – the force measurement accuracy of about 0.1 kN, – the range of measured forces up to 30 kN, – resistance of measuring gauges against aggressive counteraction of concrete mortar and against moisture, – insensitivity to pile bending, – economical factor. These requirements can be fulfilled by strain gauge sensors if an appropriate methodology is used for test preparation (Hoffmann [1]). In this paper, we focus on some aspects of the application of strain gauge sensors for model pile tests. The efficiency of the method is proved on the examples of static load tests carried out on SDP model piles acting as single piles and in a group.

Opis:
The research topic relates to the subject of deep foundations supported on continuous flight auger (CFA) piles and screw displacement piles (SDP). The authors have decided to conduct model tests of foundations supported on the group of piles mentioned above and also the tests of the same piles working as a single. The tests are ongoing in Geotechnical Laboratory of Gdańsk University of Technology. The description of test procedure, interpretation and analysis of the preliminary testing series results are presented in the paper.

Modelirovanie sklona možet byt’ provedeno s pomoŝ’û MKÈ v programmnom komplekse Plaxis. Bisvajnaâ konstrukciâ pozvolâet ukrepit massiv slabogo grunta, obladaŝego reologičeskimi svojstvami. Prostota montaža, men’šaâ glubina zadelki svaj v nesuŝij sloj po otnošeniû k stolbam-nadolbam i svaâm-špil’kam, a takže men’šaâ veličina poperečnogo sečeniâ železobentonnoj svai, čto svâzano s pereraspredeleniem usilij v bisvajnoj konstrukcii âvlâetsâ dostoinstvom predlagaemoj konstrukcii.
Omówiono kwestie wzmocnienia masywów ziemnych zapobiegającego powstawaniu osuwisk, przedstawiono też podstawy teoretyczne i obliczenia komputerowe sparowanej konstrukcji pali, służącej stabilizowaniu zboczy zagrożonych ruchami masowymi. Modelowanie nachylenia zboczy można przeprowadzić za pomocą MES w pakiecie oprogramowania Plaxis. Konstrukcja podwójnych pali (bipali) pozwala wzmocnić słabe masy ziemne o właściwościach reologicznych. Zaletą proponowanego rozwiązania jest łatwość montażu, mniejsza głębokość posadowienia pali w warstwie nośnej w odniesieniu do pali wbijanych i mikropali, a także mniejszy przekrój pala żelbetowego, co wiąże się z rozdziałem obciążeń w zaproponowanej konstrukcji palowej.

Opis:
Hemorrhoid is protrusion of plexus or blood vessels in the anal canal. The hemorrhoid may cause symptoms that are: bleeding, pain, prolaps, itching, soilage of feces, and psychologic discomfort. There are many methods for treatment of hemorrhoid like, medical therapy, cryo-therapy, rubber band ligation, sclerotherapy, laser, and surgery. All methods have some complication in postoperative period and recurrence.The aim of the study was to evaluate Diode laser for treatment of hemorrhoid.Material and methods. This study included patients who suffer from the hemorrhoid. Cases with fistula and fissure had been omitted. Patients with hemorrhoid in grade 2, 3, 4 and mixed were treated with diode laser. Follow up was done 1,7,14, 30, 90, and 360 days laser therapy.Results. In this study, 341 patients with hemorrhoid treated with diode laser were included. Results of follow-up were as follows: need for analgesia in hospital stay and home was very low total complication was seen in 12 patient (3.51%), edema in 8 patient (2.34%), hemorrhage and abscess each of them in 2 patient (0.58%), stricture and recurrence was zero after one year.Conclusions. All methods used for hemorrhoid treatment has advantages, disadvantages, and limitations. But treatment of hemorrhoid by Diode laser, which is done by skilled surgeon has several advantages over other treatments. This advantages include, less operation time, less pain and bleeding, allow quick healing of piles, no stricture, and minimal recurrence after operation.

The problem of determination of lateral earth pressure of the soft soil on piles related to the safe design of construction founded on deep piles is presented in the paper. The examples of lateral earth pressure acting against piles are described, as well as properties and response of non-cohesive, cohesive and organic soils forming a soft layer subjected to unsymmetrical loading. Current approaches related to the determination of lateral earth pressure loading the piles are shown. The influence of consolidation on the change of soil strength parameters is presented as well as the application of own model and laboratory test results to the Winter-Leinekugel proposal of earth pressure calculation. Many years research have been carried out in cooperation with Prof. Helmut Mei\ssner from Kaiserslautern University, Germany under the common project entitled "The lateral earth pressure of soft soil acting against piles" as well as in the frame of grants of Polish Research Council.

Opis:
This paper deals with the process of pile foundation installation for a civil building. Deep soil mixing technology is under investigation. We’ve used time study method to obtain a necessary material for designing of cost. We've calculated normative values of time, workers’ labor and building materials for the manufacturing of a 1 m3 of reinforced soil-cement pile for the first time. Presented results allow adequate calculation of an estimate and designing of a project for construction with an application of the reinforced soil-cement piles.

The existing report is rigorous on the ethnic knowledge of indigenous remedial medicinal plants curing in piles by pastoral people of Telangana, India. A total of 17 species were recorded as natural therapeutic plants treating in piles. Of individual’s species, representing 16 families. The extreme, herbs were in the information are measured. In the present results the importance of the indigenous remedial plants wisdom have been observed. Apart from efforts are ruined to educate the further generations about their importance, it may be missing in future. This diversity of information might contribute comprehensively in modern drug conniving or in government policies to advancement contemporary innovative drug design systems in rural, folkloric areas, and in the enhancement of advance formulas with reference to indigenous remedial medicinal plants.

Opis:
A series of cone penetration tests with standard cone and mini-cone were performed in the calibration chamber at Gdańsk University of Technology. Medium size, double wall chamber permits full control of stress and strain acting on the soil mass. The calibration chamber houses cylindrical soil sample 53 cm in diameter and 100 cm high. Lateral and vertical stresses, as well as strain conditions can be applied independently. The results of pushed-in model piles of small diameter, dilatometer tests, standard cone and mini CPT probe were analysed to determine size and boundary effects in penetration testing for calibration chamber and model sand. Free field values of cone resistance, independent of size and boundary effects, are proposed for Lubiatowo sand.
