Opis:: The article is part of the design and research work conducted at the Gdansk University of Technology, Faculty of Ocean Engineering and Ship Technology, in cooperation with a number of other research centres, which concerns offshore wind farms planned to be built in the Polish zone of the Baltic sea in the next years. One of most difficult tasks in this project is building suitable foundations for each power unit consisting of a tower and a wind turbine mounted on its top. Since the water regions selected for building those wind farms have different depths, there was need to study different possible technical variants of this task, with the reference to both the foundation structures themselves, and the technology of their transport and setting, or anchoring. The article presents the technology of towing, from the shipyard to the setting place, and installation of the foundation having the form of a floating platform of TLP (Tension Leg Platform) type, anchored by tight chains to suction piles in the waters with depth of 60 m.

The governance mechanism benefits the platform owner the most and creates asymmetries among platform members. These asymmetries trigger coopetition tensions between governance costs and co-created value, autonomy, and control. Resolving tensions between complementors and real-time visibility platform provider is a key for the successful performance of a real-time visibility transportation platform. The fee share and bonus malus scheme should balance the asymmetries of benefits from being part of a real-time visibility transportation platform.

Opis:: Seismic refraction investigations, performed in Poland between 1964 and 1978, are reviewed. Examples selected from the many seismic profiles, totalling approximately 15 000 km in length, are shown. The most useful profiles as regards geological interpretation are in the Precambrian Platform and along its southwestern edge. Both the top of the crystalline basement and a system of faults, downfaulting the basement towards the south-west, can be identified in that area. In the Carpathians and its foreland, the top of this basement may be identified together with the bases of thrust flysch nappes. In the Fore-Sudetic Monocline, the top of folded Carboniferous deposits can be determined. The most ambiguous results were obtained from the Palaeozoic Platform.

Opis:: Processing massive data amounts and Big Data became nowadays one of the most significant problems in computer science. The difficulties with education on this field arise, the appropriate teaching methods and tools are needed. The processing of vast amounts of data arriving quickly requires the choice and arrangement of extended hardware platforms. In the paper we will show an approach for teaching students in Big Data and also the choice and arrangement of an appropriate programming platform for Big Data laboratories. Usage of an e-learning platform Moodle, a dedicated platform for teaching, could allow the teaching staff and students an improved contact with by enhancing mutually communication possibilities. We will show the preparation of Hadoop platform tools and Big Data cluster based on Cloudera and Ambari. The both solutions together could enable to cope with the problems in education of students in the field of Big Data.

The goal of the thesis is to create a model of a comprehensive sales platform and then implement it. The main part of the platform is a PostgreSQL database on a server using Amazon's Cloud Computing technology. Applications using the database were implemented using Microsoft's .NET Framework and programmed in C Sharp; the web store uses the latest ASP.NET MVC 5 Framework that implements Model-View-Controller architectural pattern.

Opis:: Background: The aim of the study was to analyse EU legislation and case law on the VAT status of the provider of goods and services for the platform economy. This issue is becoming increasingly important in the context of a rapidly developing platform economy, using the latest technological developments. The study conducted a comprehensive legal analysis of the issue, at the same time drawing attention to the doubts that exist particularly due to the lack of CJEU judgments on the concept of a taxable person in the platform economy. Research purpose: The aim of the study was not only to assess the relevant legislation or its interpretation, but above all to draw attention to the need to fill the legislative gap in the area studied, which has led, and may continue to lead, to non-uniform application of VAT rules in the EU Member States. Methods: The study was carried out predominantly using the empirical-dogmatic method, backed by a historical method and comparative method. Conclusions: Our analysis demonstrated that the provisions of the VAT Directive do not simply and clearly regulate whether a platform provider is a taxable person. There is also a lack of CJEU jurisprudence addressing this issue; judgments on the ‘traditional’ economy do not seem to ‘fit’ the specifics of the platform economy. In our opinion, legislative changes are needed, especially the VAT Directive, which would take into account the specifics of transactions in the platform economy. We present preliminary proposals that can be taken into account in the legislative work on the European Commission’s recently proposed provisions in this area.
Przedmiot badań: Celem opracowania była analiza przepisów i orzecznictwa UE w zakresie statusu VAT dostawcy towarów i usług dla gospodarki platformowej. Zagadnienie to nabiera coraz większego znaczenia w kontekście szybko rozwijającej się gospodarki platformowej, wykorzystującej najnowsze osiągnięcia technologiczne. W opracowaniu przeprowadzono kompleksową analizę prawną zagadnienia, zwracając jednocześnie uwagę na wątpliwości, które istnieją w szczególności z uwagi na brak orzeczeń TSUE dotyczących pojęcia podatnika w gospodarce platformowej. Cel badawczy: Celem opracowania była nie tylko ocena odpowiednich przepisów prawa czy ich interpretacji, ale przede wszystkim zwrócenie uwagi na konieczność wypełnienia luki legislacyjnej w badanym obszarze, która doprowadziła i może nadal prowadzić do niejednolitego stosowania przepisów o VAT w państwach członkowskich UE. Metody badawcze: Badanie zostało przeprowadzone w przeważającej mierze przy użyciu metody empiryczno-dogmatycznej, wspartej metodą historyczną oraz metodą porównawczą. Wyniki: Nasza analiza wykazała, że przepisy dyrektywy VAT nie regulują w sposób prosty i jednoznaczny, czy dostawca platformy jest podatnikiem. Brakuje również orzecznictwa TSUE odnoszącego się do tej kwestii, wyroki dotyczące gospodarki „tradycyjnej” wydają się nie „pasować” do specyfiki gospodarki platformowej. Naszym zdaniem potrzebne są zmiany legislacyjne, zwłaszcza w dyrektywie VAT, które uwzględniałyby specyfikę transakcji w gospodarce platformowej. Przedstawiamy wstępne propozycje, które mogą zostać uwzględnione w pracach legislacyjnych nad zaproponowanymi niedawno przez Komisję Europejską przepisami w tym zakresie.

Opis:: Rotation modulation can significantly improve the navigation accuracies of an inertial navigation system (INS) and a strap-down configuration dominating in this type of INS. However, this style of construction is not a good scheme since it has no servo loop to counteract a vehicle manoeuvre. This paper proposes a rotary upgrading method for a rotational INS based on an inertially stabilized platform. The servo control loop is reconstructed on a four-gimbal platform, and it has the functions of providing both a level stability relative to the navigation frame and an azimuth rotation at a speed of 1.2°/s. With the platform’s rotation, the observability and the convergence speed of the estimation for the initial alignment can be improved, as well as the biases of the gyroscopes and accelerometers be modulated into zero-mean periodic values. An open-loop initial alignment method is designed, and its detailed algorithms are delivered. The experiment result shows that the newly designed rotational INS has reached an accuracy of 0.38 n mile/h (CEP, circular error probable). The feasibility and engineering applicability of the designed scheme have been validated.

Opis:: Gospodarka platform internetowych jest umownym pojęciem używanym do określenia ogółu przedsiębiorstw, osób fizycznych oraz internetowych platform, współpracujących w modelu biznesowym, w którym platformy pełnią rolę pośredników pomiędzy pozostałymi podmiotami będącymi dostawcami i odbiorcami określonych dóbr. W artykule omówiono część tej gospodarki, obejmującą platformy pośredniczące w odpłatnym świadczeniu usług. Wyodrębniono właściwości gospodarki platform internetowych, które wywierają wpływ na bezpieczeństwo i higienę pracy osób świadczących usługi. Stwierdzono, że sposób organizacji pracy w gospodarce platform internetowych wpływa negatywnie na poziom bhp, powodując powstanie nowych zagrożeń bądź powiększając ryzyko związane z istniejącymi. Postuluje się kontynuowanie i pogłębianie badań dotyczących bhp w gospodarce platform internetowych celem zidentyfikowania źródeł zagrożeń i opracowania środków profilaktycznych w postaci rozwiązań prawnych i organizacyjnych.
The platform economy is a conventional term used to describe enterprises, individuals and Internet platforms, cooperating with each other under a business model in which the platforms act as intermediaries between remaining two parties that are suppliers and recipients of specific goods. The article discusses the part of this economy that includes platforms intermediating in the provision of services against payment. The characteristics of the platform economy, which have an impact on the health and safety at work of workers providing services, were identified and the nature of this impact was characterized. It was found that the work organization in the platform economy has a negative impact on the health and safety, causing new hazards or increasing the risk associated with the existing ones. It is postulated to continue and deepen research on OSH in the platform economy in order to identify sources of hazards and develop preventive measures in the form of legal and organizational solutions.

Opis:: The problem of the western and southern borders of the East European Platform is still subject to debate; different authors variously put this border on the geological maps of Europe. The deepness of the crystalline basement between the T–T zone and the Variscan orogen and within the so-called Scythian Platform makes recognizing the geotectonic structure of the area difficult. There are relatively few and small regions with rocks older than Mesozoic. There is no direct access to Precambrian strata over most of the area. Most structural information is provided by geophysical methods, but they do not allow to date the age of consolidated basement. The paleomagnetic studies of the area give equivocal results. Our analysis of available materials from between the T–T zone and the Variscan orogen and the Scythian Platform suggests that the Precambrian Platform has a larger extent than it was generally assumed. The platform extends westwards even as far as the front of the Variscan orogen, and to the SWand S it may reach the Alpine folded structures.
