Carsharing is a business model whose goal is to rent a car for a short time. It is attractive for people using the car sporadically and for those who would like to have access to a particular type of car for a specific occasion. The aim of the article is to analyze and evaluate the popularity of a car rental service for minutes, among a selected age group on the example of the city of Szczecin.

Opis:
The study concerns Polish fencing (hussar sabre fighting) and Japanese kenjutsu (art of sword). It focuses on forms of their promotion as well as popularization and its scope. In the light of history, theoretical sociology and anthropology of martial arts selected relevant facts are discussed in an attempt to explain the reasons for the changes which have occured. An attempt is also made to compare the progress of the process of institutionalization in the case of both martial arts. Three complementary qualitative research methods were used: a long-term observation in the role of a participant (25 years), content analysis of the literature and the case study. In addition, the author presents the case study of an international seminar on kenjutsu of the Katori Shinto-ryu school organized in Kraków. The date of the seminar coincided with the 20th anniversary of the battle demonstration where a representative of the fencing school fought against W. Zabłocki, a master of the Polish hussar sabre, and the 25th anniversary of practising martial arts of aikibudō and kobudō in Poland (including kenjutsu of the said school). Japanese kenjutsu is much more advanced in comparison to the Polish historical art of fencing in terms of institutionalization and popularization. However, the two-day seminar on old Japanese fencing in Krakow was an example of a cultural meeting, dialogue and educational experience confirming validity of the theory of dialogue between cultures. Polish martial arts as part of the national heritage need to be supported by the state government.

Opis:
The main aim of this paper is to learn about an informal structure of a third grade sport class with extended curriculum in athletics of Junior Sport School no. 47 in Kraków and to show the relationship between students’ popularity and their physical fitness and safety in a group of peers. The research included 23 schoolgirls of III de class with extended curriculum in athletics. All participants were 15 year old. The following research techniques have been used: the sociometric method, the test of physical fitness, an analysis of school documents, an interview. In the light of the obtained results it can be stated that physical fitness in the examined III de class plays a significant role on becoming likeable and accepted among peers, there is high correlation between physical fitness and participants’ popularity, which is a positive phenomenon. In order to support students who have been rejected appropriate educational measures, aiming to change their image for better in the eyes of their peers and raise their status in the popularity hierarchy, should be taken.

Are narcissists sexy? : zeroing in on the effect of narcissism on short-term mate appeal

This research was aimed to provide a comprehensive test of the classic notion that narcissistic individuals are appealing as short-term romantic or sexual partners. In three studies, we tested the hypotheses that narcissism exerts a positive effect on an individual’s mate appeal and that this effect is mediated by high physical attractiveness and high social boldness. We implemented a multimethod approach and used ratings of opposite sex persons (Study 1), ratings of friends (Study 2), and records of courtship outcomes in naturalistic interactions (Study 3) as indicators of mate appeal. In all cases, narcissism had a positive effect on mate appeal, which was mainly due to the agentic self-enhancement aspects of narcissism (rather than narcissists’ lacking communion). As predicted, physical attractiveness and social boldness mediated the positive effect of narcissism on mate appeal. Findings further indicated that narcissism was more strongly linked to mate appeal than to friend appeal.

Blogs are a complex and diverse phenomenon. They can be grouped by many different indicators. One of the groups of blogs are politicians' blogs. For several years already, politicians have been taking benefits from blogosphere possibilities. Blogosphere of Polish politicians is really diverse and disproportionate. There are several indicators - both inner and outer - which are influencing on a popularity level of blogs. Those indicators are quite independent.
Blogi są zjawiskiem złożonym i różnorodnym. Można je podzielić według wielu różnych kryteriów. Jednym z rodzajów blogów są blogi polityków. Już od kilku lat politycy korzystają z możliwości oferowanych przez blogosferę. Blogosfera polskich polityków jest bardzo zróżnicowana i nieproporcjonalna. Istnieje kilka czynników - wewnętrznych i zewnętrznych - które wpływają na stopień popularności danego bloga. Czynniki te są od siebie dość niezależne.

Rodrigo Duterte, the president of the Republic of the Philippines, has been heavily criticized by the local and international media, primarily for his brutal anti-drugs campaign and suppression of political opposition and journalists. Nevertheless, despite controversial decisions, Duterte remains, as surveys show, extremely popular among Filipinos. In this context, this study aims at answering the following questions: 1. What are the sources of the popularity of Rodrigo Duterte in the Philippines? 2. What are the mechanisms of legitimation of his actions? Beginning with a theoretical discussion of the differences between legitimation, popularity, support, and trust, the article concludes by pointing out a combination of structural, situational, personal, and technological factors that impact his popularity.

Background. The aim of the study was to determine the class hierarchy and to find out if there is a relationship between students’ physical fitness and their popularity in the class. Material and method. The research was carried out on fifth grade students of primary school. In the research the following techniques were employed: 1. classic sociometric techniques based on two criteria (personal ties, i.e. “mate at the same desk” and material ties, i.e. “class council”) and Korczak’s “plebiscite of kindness and reluctance”, 2. the physical fitness test by Z. Chromiński. Measurement of students’ motor performance was assessed by Chromiński’s test. The maximum number of points students could get in each trial was 100, and the minimum was 0. The student’s popularity in the class was calculated adding up the numbers of choices received in all three sociometric techniques. It was assumed that a popular student (with a high acceptance rate) is the one who accumulated the positive choices from at least half of the class and is not rejected (discarded) by more than 33% of his/her classmates. On the contrary, an unpopular student (with a very low or low acceptance rate) is one who received only negative choices, or was ignored in the selections (both positive and negative) or his ratio of positive and negative choices was 1 to 3. Conclusions. There was a low correlation found between students’ popularity and their physical fitness.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest wskazanie czynników kierujących odbiorcami podczas wyboru treści w YouTube oraz określenie, jakimi cechami charakteryzują się najbardziej popularne w serwisie materiały filmowe. Badania zostały przeprowadzone w oparciu o analizę treści znajdujących się na karcie Na czasie w serwisie YouTube oraz analizę odpowiedzi uzyskanych od użytkowników serwisu za pośrednictwem kwestionariusza ankiety. Pracę uzupełnia analiza krytyczna YouTube, w której w wątpliwość zostały poddane kwestie związane z charakterem prowadzonej przez serwis działalności.
Network users are striving through the social media to unceasing exchange of knowledge, competences and experience. YouTube gives to users the opportunity to publish videos and free access to published content. The aim of this thesis is to indicate factors which are guide useres during the selection of YouTube content and identification of factors which are have an influence on video popularity. The study was conducted on the content analysis of the trending YouTube videos and analysis of responses received from the YouTube users. Thesis is completed by critical analysis of YouTube in which are considered issues are related with functioning of the social service.
