Opis:
This paper presents the analysis of costs and cost-efficiency of the repair of modern fuel injection systems in compression-ignition engines. The requirements for modern Diesel engines are low emission of toxic substances into the atmosphere and low fuel consumption. In order to meet the rigorous standards, the Common Rail fuel injection system has been implemented. By increasing fuel injection pressure to 200 MPa and introducing multi-stage dosing, engine designers have improved the process of air-fuel mixture combustion and engine ecological and economic parameters. The price for these changes is an accelerated wear of fuel injection equipment in modern CI engines. Regular fuel filter replacement and periodical cleaning of the systems would minimise the risk of damage. Unfortunately, most users do not comply with vehicle servicing times, and come to car repair shops only when a failure occurs, but then it is too late and the repair costs are high.

Article describes diagnose and research methods Common Rail system fuel injectors. Professional diagnose modern fuel injectors is very difficult procedure. Basic theirs work parameter influencing on correctly work parameters are magnitude injection and return dosages by definite pressures prevailing in system and injection times. Sometimes dosages during diagnose by coordinate task and actual fuel injector are correct but engine work is not proper. So that during diagnose should extend tests procedure in range varie work conditions. Fuel injectors work characteristics are one of method researching in whole range work. During researches has been used Continental fuel injector.

This paper presents the analysis of costs reduction of Common Rail fuel injectors repairs. The task of fuel injectors is to spray and distribute fuel very precisely in combustion chamber. It has to be reliable to accomplish this task. The requirements for CI engines are low emission of toxic substances in fumes and low fuel consumption. In order to meet the rigorous standards, the Common Rail fuel injection system has been implemented, which increased fuel injection pressure and introduced multi – stage dosage. The cost of this ‘s repair is very high due to sophisticated spare parts and technology. This article describes how to lower the cost of modern fuel injectors repair.

Opis:
The paper characterises the current state of development and use of equipment and monitoring-diagnostic systems of engine cylinders and reciprocating compressors. It has presented a prototype system for monitoring and diagnostics of motor compressors of GMVH type natural gas installed in the Krio Company in Odolanów. The system monitors on-line 5 stands of motor compressors. Simultaneously 12 engine cylinders and 6 compressor cylinders of each motor compressor are indicated - a total of 90 cylinders. Driven by the need to reduce the number of monitors in the control room, aprinciple to operate the system through one monitor with the capability of immediate switching-off of a monitored motor compressor has been adopted. A charts menu provides for simultaneous on-line observation of the work of all the cylinders of a selected motor compressor. For each cylinder of both engine and compressor, against the background of the average from 16 runs and average for the cylinder's unit there are presented a few indicator diagrams, which allows for observation of the variability of a cylinder 's work, which in a spark-ignition engines can be significant. Values of main parameters ofthe cylinder's work are presented in tables and bar charts. These include: the maximum pressure of combustion and compression as well as average indicated pressures. The indicated powers are determined for the engine and compressors and a mechanical efficiency of the unit. The fiber-optic "Optrand" sensors have been used for indication, mainly to meet the need of spark-safety requirements. For the measurement of pressure, 12-bit converter cards ofown construction have been applied. Values of pressure have been sampled with angle axis pulses 0.5° crankshaft rotation. Ethernet connections were applied to transfer data between the pumping station and control room. The study characterises the main conclusions arising from past experience of system use.

Opis:
The field test of the sewer system in a rural area was made. The results from two different pressure-gravity systems localized in two settlements were compared. The investigated sewer system operates in serial connection; the sewage from one settlement is pumped to the expansion well in the next one. In both systems, the high concentration of hydrogen sulfide, exceeding 200 ppm, and visible concrete wells corrosion effects were recorded. The samples of corroded concrete from the internal walls of the chosen wells were collected. The results of an electron microscope with the EDS attachment (Energy dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy) analysis showed a significant sulfur content in a concrete surface layer from 11.2% to 64.2% for the first system and from 7.53% to 42.9% for the second one. The exposure of concrete to high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide and relatively high content of sulfur on the surface of concrete might be a reason for hydrogen sulfide corrosion of concrete in the investigated systems.

Opis:
A simple hydraulic model of liquid and gas flow from a collecting sump via vacuum service lateral to a vacuum main has been presented. The model was formulated and validated on experimental data and CFD simulations. The standard gas (air) to liquid (sewage) volumetric ratio is roughly equal to the ratio of subsequent admittance times of these two phases, provided that the liquid plug is not fully sucked from the service lateral to the vacuum main during the valve open time. A longer air suction time is needed only when the service lateral is too short to provide enough air to transport the sewage past the nearest downstream lift on the vacuum main. Sizing properly the active sump volume and valve open time for a given service lateral length, one can provide the required air to liquid ratios along the vacuum main, thus minimizing the energy consumption by the vacuum pumps.

Opis:
The subject of the paper is to modify the procedure of inference for TPMS (Tyre-Pressure Monitoring System) with regard to an earlier identification of the excessive temperature rise in tyres before they exceed thermal limits. This shall allow to limit the risk of accidents caused by destruction of a tyre. An important issue indicating functional features of TPMS consists in a possibility of rapidly warning a driver immediately after a potentially dangerous rise of temperature. Traction tests have been carried out with use of a passenger car equipped with TPMS with P409 sensors and TH9P409S measuring module. Time characteristics of tyre temperature signals were included indicating the way of their use for the process of estimation of a warning signal. A change trend model of an analysed parameter in time function was developed.
Przedmiotem publikacji jest modyfikacja procesu wnioskowania w systemie TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) w zakresie wcześniejszej identyfikacji nadmiernego przyrostu temperatury opony zanim zostaną przekroczone limity dopuszczalne. Pozwoli to na ograniczenie skutków destrukcji opony zmniejszając przy tym ryzyko wypadkowości. Istotnym zagadnieniem wyrażającym cechy funkcjonalne układu TPMS jest zdolność szybkiej estymacji sygnału ostrzegawczego o stanie awaryjnym opony. Przeprowadzono testy trakcyjne samochodu osobowego wyposażonego w układ TPMS z czujnikami P409 i modułem pomiarowym TH9P409S. Zamieszczono charakterystyki czasowe sygnałów temperatury opony wskazując na ich wykorzystanie dla estymacji sygnału ostrzegawczego. Opracowano model trendu zmiany analizowanego parametru w funkcji czasowej.

Opis:
The aim of the research was to determine changes in the elemental composition of concrete under the influence of exposure to hydrogen sulphide in the existing sewage system. The system operator pointed to significant problems with odours in this system. The research included a fragment of the pressure sewage system. The concentration of gases: hydrogen sulphide, ammonia and methane was measured in selected wells. High concentrations of hydrogen sulphide (over 200 ppm) were recorded in the studies. Concrete samples were taken from the internal walls of the well for testing. The samples were used for a microscopic analysis of their composition, using an electron microscope with an EDS attachment. Also, concrete samples from a new sewage well were tested to compare their elemental composition. Gas measurements confirmed the problem of odors, while the analysis of the elemental composition showed a significant proportion of sulphur(from 7.53% to 42.9%) on the surface of the well compared to the reference sample (0%).
