The paper deals with the carrying out of prevention of socio-pathological phenomena in the school environment with specific focus on practising the prevention of drug addiction. Inter alia it presents the results of research done in 2004 and in 2007, which was carried out among prevention coordinators at primary and secondary schools It focuses on the current state of the individual forms of prevention It analyses cooperation of schools with experts in the area of prevention (with the police, facilities of educational prevention) as well as cooperation of school with the family.

Polish Forum for Prevention in years 2005–2009In 2005 the Health Promotion Committee of the Polish Cardiac Society (PTK) invited seven other Polish professional societies to collaborate in a development of unified recommendations on CVD prevention in Poland. To coordinate the collaboration Polish Forum for Prevention (PFP) was founded. The PFP recommendations are in concordance with the current European guidelines however national characteristics and local epidemiologic data are also considered. They are broadly distributed to the subscribers of all official journals of the PFP Member Societies, and additionally published in Polish Heart Journal. The same information are published in a patient – friendly format on the website and as  a booklet. Additionally, PFP does efforts to influence the health policy and currently is especially involved now in encouraging politicians to ban smoking in public places.

Opis:
The aim of this article is to present the activities of the Child Protection Centre (COD) in the field of protection of children and adolescents from sexual abuse. COD is an interdepartmental unit operating at the Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow. The primary tasks of COD include training and educational activities in the psychological, pedagogical and spiritual fields on the subject of CSA, and the design and development of prevention programmes and models of good practice for various pastoral, formative and educational environments. The Child Protection Centre focuses on preparing and building structures for the effective implementation of the policies for the protection of children and young people, and on working to change the awareness not only of the clergy but also of people associated with the Church. The activities undertaken by the Child Protection Centre focus mainly on universal prevention, the basic aim of which is to stop potential perpetrators from harming children and to protect children – potential victims – from abuse.

Dance as an alternative strategy in universal prevention aimed at elementary school children

We współczesnym świecie występuje coraz więcej zagrożeń, dlatego zwrócenie szczególnej uwagi na ten problem jest konieczne i istotne. Czynniki ryzyka występują niemal wszędzie, stanowi więc to niebagatelny problem społeczny występujący na szeroką skalę. Konsekwencje takich zachowań mogą być poważne, dlatego niezbędna staje się realizacja profilaktyki uniwersalnej, która pozwala zapobiegać niepożądanym zjawiskom poprzez wzmacnianie czynników chroniących oraz redukcję czy też ograniczanie czynników ryzyka. W niniejszej pracy będę się skupiać na dzieciach i młodzieży w wieku 10-14 lat, ze względu na to, że są oni najbardziej podatni na występujące ryzyko, ponieważ dopiero kształtują swoją odporność, samoocenę czy też potrzebne umiejętności psychospołeczne. Celem niniejszej pracy jest poznanie zastosowania tańca w placówkach edukacyjnych jako metody strategii alternatywnej w profilaktyce uniwersalnej adresowanej do dzieci i młodzieży szkół podstawowych. Podjęłam w tym celu różne działania poprzez studiowanie i analizę literatury przedmiotu oraz przeprowadzenie badań w tym zakresie w szkołach podstawowych i instytucjach kultury w Krakowie. Niniejsza praca składa się z sześciu rozdziałów, które podzielić można na dwie główne części: teoretyczną i empiryczną. Dodatkowo opracowałam autorski program profilaktyczny jako przykład zastosowania strategii alternatywnej z wykorzystaniem zajęć tanecznych w profilaktyce uniwersalnej.
There are more and more risks in today's world, so focusing on this issue is necessary and principal. Risk factors are present almost everywhere, thus this is a major social problem occurring on a wide scale. The consequences of such behavior can be serious, so it becomes necessary to implement universal prevention, which allows undesirable phenomena to be prevented by strengthening protective factors and reducing or limiting risk factors. This paper focuses on children, and adolescents aged 10-14 years, because they are the most vulnerable to the risks involved, as they are just developing their resilience, self-esteem, and necessary psychosocial skills. The aim of this study is to explore the use of dance in educational settings as a method of alternative strategy in universal prevention targeting children and adolescents in primary schools. Various activities had been undertaken by studying and analyzing the literature on the subject and carrying out research in this area in primary schools and cultural institutions in Krakow. This thesis consists of six chapters, which are divided into two main parts: theoretical and empirical. In addition, I have developed an original prevention program as an example of the application of an alternative strategy using dance activities in universal prevention.
