Opis:
In accordance with the legal rules that applied until the end of December 2013, the Polish real estate intermediary was obliged to perform in accordance with these rules as well as professional standards, with particular accuracy and care appropriate for the nature of the profession as well as the principles of professional ethics. On 13 June 2013 Polish Parliament adopted an Act amending the existing law on the exercise of certain professions, abolishing regulation of the profession of real estate intermediary or agent. From 1 January 2014, virtually all requirements became obsolete, like the need to possess a license, to possess proper education, the completion of an apprenticeship and the lack of a criminal record. The question arises how the real estate market coped with compliance with the law as well as professional standards and ethics. The aim of this article is to present proposals for new solutions in the area of professional standards for real estate intermediaries, in response to the changed markets conditions, and to compare the changes in the principles of professional ethics.

Opis:
Contemporary conservation-restoration practice is affected by theoretical and ethical principles and by social factors. They are often discussed separately, but their effect on the processes of conservation-restoration is complex and intertwined. This paper offers an overview of the development of professional codes of ethics in conservation-restoration and as they relate to and inform professional competences. It looks at how ethics and competences are defined and link with professional education. It also discusses relationships with other professions in the preservation of cultural heritage and the need for clarification on the role and obligation of these respective professions. The legal and social issues they generate at a European level are touched upon.

Teacher professional activity, its quality and work efficiency are conditioned by social changes and educational reforms. The following question guides this analysis: What is the impact of professional burnout and professional satisfaction on the development of teachers’ professional career? The analysis of scientific literature was selected for the theoretical explanation of the research problem as well as a quantitative research method was selected for the empirical research. The indicators on the questionnaire scales provided an opportunity to determine the links between Lithuanian teachers’ professional burnout and vocational satisfaction according to different stress dimensions. Statistical analyses were performed using IBM SPSS 23. The results of theoretical and empirical research made it possible to establish the main factors affecting teachers’ professional career:1) significantly reduced ability to work, productivity, lack of work-life balance and self-control at work (professional burnout factors); 2) personal fulfilment and self-realisation and wishing to contribute to social well-being (professional satisfaction factors).

This brief report presents preliminary findings of a qualitative investigation into five Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) academics’ professional attributes and identities in China. The findings revealed that the participants possessed diverse types of capital essential to CLIL, including human, social, psychological, cultural, identity, and agentic capital, though with mixed controls. The temporality of personal experiences and the social networks surrounding the participants were deemed influential in shaping and negotiating their professional identities. The study concluded with implications for institutional administrators and leaders, who should consider teachers’ development needs, especially their learning, social and psychological needs, to create an academically supportive, emotionally engaging and socially collaborative organisational climate.

This paper aims at presenting the conclusions drawn from a systematic review of the studies conducted among Polish journalists since the 1970s. By comparing results of the studies on journalists with expectations and attitudes of current Polish journalism students, the paper offers an insight into the ongoing changes that have been observed among Polish journalists in the last four decades. In particular, the review revealed signi# cant changes in a demographic profile of Polish journalists regarding gender, education, and employment, as well as their motivation to work in the profession. Furthermore, professional values of journalism in Poland have been slightly shifting from a traditional pro# le of a social educator and watchdog to new ones, such as a news provider.

The paper is devoted to the analysis of a phrase describing a ‘professional criminal’ in Article 65 § 1 of the Polish Criminal Code (CC). The meaning of the amendment of 2004, which changed the description of the professional criminal, is discussed in detail. While earlier such a criminal was defined as a person who ‘has made the commission of offences his or her regular source of income’, since 2004 it is sufficient if the regular income comes from the ‘commission of an offence’. It is argued that this change means that also cases in which the offender commits only one offence that can be the source of long-lasting income should be treated as offences committed by the professional criminal under Article 65 § 1 CC. Yet, there are no sound criminal policy reasons supporting such a broad application of the provision. Furthermore, the case law examined in the paper demonstrates that in practice the courts assume that a regular criminal activity is the prerequisite for applying Article 65 § 1 CC. Therefore, the following amendment to the discussed provision is suggested: either to restore the previous description of the professional criminal as a person whose income comes from the commission of offences (and not just one offence) or to indicate criminal activities as the source of such income.

Life in general passes among various situations and personalities in constant rush. One has no influence on many actions. We live “in a world of produced risk, which is a price of technological and civilizational progress” said Piotr Sztompka, a famous Polish sociologist. Unfortunately, new kinds of risks have been still occurring not only in professional but also in private life. We have to deal with a great deal of uncertainty at almost every turn. Moreover, Sztompka pointed out that “the risk connected with the results of certain actions is a perennial and common factor of social life”. This uncertainty causes frustration as well as nervous tension in several aspects. However, in a positive way, being under stress is one’s regular response to the physical, mental and emotional sphere. There is no way to avoid stress, so people have to get used to living with it and learn how to defend themselves against its destructive influence. You can prepare to do it effectively enough to make the stress as inconsiderable as possible. What is more, there are many ways of solving difficult problems so as to overcome the stress, not become its victim. Summing up, in spite of many life’s adversities, you should look ahead with the optimistic attitude to the world and people around.

Praca zawodowa człowieka może mobilizować go bądź hamować jego rozwój. Nauczyciel jest to zawód, który wymaga ciągłego podnoszenia kompetencji i rozwijania różnych umiejętności potrzebnych do pracy z dziećmi. Przedmiotem badań mojej pracy było poznanie opinii nauczycieli edukacji wczesnoszkolnej na temat rozwoju zawodowego. Celem pracy było znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytania: Jaka jest opinia nauczycieli na temat ścieżki ich rozwoju zawodowego ustanowionej przez prawo? Jakie wsparcie otrzymali nauczyciele edukacji wczesnoszkolnej ze strony szkoły i grona pedagogicznego? Na jakie trudności napotykają na swojej drodze rozwoju nauczyciele edukacji wczesnoszkolnej? Jakie pozytywne doświadczenia spotkali na swojej drodze rozwoju nauczyciele edukacji wczesnoszkolnej? W jakich formach doskonalenia zawodowego brali udział badani nauczyciele edukacji wczesnoszkolnej? Jakie są plany nauczycieli odnośnie dalszego rozwoju zawodowego? W badaniach posłużyłam się metodą sondażu diagnostycznego oraz skorzystałam z techniki wywiadu i ankiety w celu poznania opinii nauczycieli na temat rozwoju zawodowego. Badania przeprowadziłam w Szkołach Podstawowych na terenie gminy Kalwarii Zebrzydowskiej w województwie małopolskim. Na podstawie zebranego materiału empirycznego można stwierdzić, że opinia nauczycieli edukacji wczesnoszkolnej na temat rozwoju zawodowego jest uzależniona od wielu czynników, od wsparcia środowiska szkolnego, ich motywacji do ciągłego kształcenia się oraz od wymogów i oczekiwań, jakie stawia przed nimi dyrekcja oraz system awansu zawodowego.
Professional work can mobilize people or inhibit their development. The teacher is a profession that requires continuous improvement of competence and development of special abilities needed in work with children. The subject of my research is to investigate the opinions of teachers on early childhood education professional development. The aim of this master thesis is to find answers to the questions: What is the opinion of teachers about their career development path created by the law? What kind of support do early childhood education teachers receive from the school and the teaching staff? What kind of difficulties do they encounter on their development path? What positive aspects do they experience during their career? In what forms of professional trainings do they have opportunity to attend? What are the plans regarding further teacher professional development? In my research I used the method of diagnostic survey, interview and other survey techniques in order to get to know the teachers opinions on their professional development. I conducted surveys in Primary Schools in the municipality of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska in the Malopolska province. Based on collected empirical materials I can state that the opinion of teachers about early childhood education professional development depends on many factors. The major impact on gathered opinions was among others: the support of the school environment, motivation for continuous learning, requirements and expectations posed by the management and the system of promotions.
