Opis:: Objectives The diverse list of tasks and needs related to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic may lead to different professional experiences in nurses working with patients infected with and not infected with SARS-CoV-2. The aim of the study was to measure the professional challenges of nurses working during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in Poland. Material and Methods The study was conducted in 2021 in a group of 151 nurses. The following scales were used: the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), the Impact of Event Scale – Revised (IES-R), the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ-SF), the Areas of Worklife Survey (AWS) and the Maslach Burnout Inventory – Human Services Survey (MBIHSS). Results Nurses working with patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 showed a positive correlation between workload and emotional exhaustion (ρ = 0.26, p = 0.02), as well as positive correlations among control, community and depersonalization (ρ = 0.25, p = 0.02; ρ = 0.23, p = 0.04). Among nurses working with uninfected patients, positive correlations were found among control, community, fairness and emotional exhaustion (ρ = 0.40, p = 0.000; ρ = 0.41, p = 0.000; ρ = 0.25, p = 0.03), as well as correlations between control and depersonalization (ρ = 0.33, p = 0.01), and among control, community and personal accomplishment (ρ = 0.23, p = 0.05; ρ = 0.27, p = 0.02). Conclusions Nurses working during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic with infected and uninfected patients both experienced a variety of psychosocial challenges in coping with the demands of their work, social relationships and personal life. Opis:: The aim of the paper is the presentation of the assumptions and the existing, selected project re-sults of the „Modern Pedagogue” project (No. POWR.03.01.00-00-K423/16) co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund, conducted (and granted by the National Centre for Research and Development) at the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. The main aim of the project is to improve labour-market-required professional competencies, communicational abilities, in the field of entrepreneurship, IT abilities and analytical skills among students of pedagogy and special education – of the last two semesters of first and second degree studies. The „Modern Pedagogue” project incorpo-rates: workshops, study visits at employer’s facility and a team work on the design method con-cerning, among others, the Hokus Focus therapy, „In somebody else’s shoes” – elaboration on the method of developing empathy among students, or „Departmental meetings with labour market experts”, being a favourable space for a debate with practitioners, including searching for an answer to the following question: What are the prospective fields of activity modern pedagogues these days? The answer to the above question is not an easy one, as it constitutes the starting point for further reflection and it’s part of discussion on the role of a modern peda-gogue in the changing socio-professional reality.
Celem artykułu jest prezentacja założeń oraz dotychczasowych, wybranych rezultatów projektu „Nowoczesny pedagog” (Nr POWR.03.01.00-00-K423/16) współfinansowanego ze środków Unii Europejskiej w ramach Europejskiego Funduszu Społecznego, realizowanego (z ramienia NCBiR) na Wydziale Nauk Pedagogicznych Uniwersytetu Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego w Warszawie. Celem głównym projektu jest wzmocnienie pożądanych na rynku pracy kompe-tencji zawodowych, komunikacyjnych, w zakresie przedsiębiorczości, informatycznych i anali-tycznych studentów pedagogiki i pedagogiki specjalnej – słuchaczy ostatnich dwóch semestrów studiów I oraz II stopnia. Projekt obejmuje: warsztaty, wizyty studyjne u pracodawców oraz ze-społową pracę metodą projektu w zakresie m.in.: Terapii Hokus Focus, „W cudzych butach” – opracowywania metod rozwijania empatii wśród studentów, czy „Wydziałowych spotkań z eks-pertami rynku pracy – stanowiących dogodną przestrzeń do debaty z praktykami, w tym m.in. poszukiwania odpowiedzi na pytanie: Jakie są perspektywiczne obszary aktywności współcze-snych pedagogów? Odpowiedź na powyższe pytanie nie jest prosta, jest punktem wyjścia do dalszych rozważań i częścią dyskusji na temat roli nowoczesnego pedagoga w zmieniającej się rzeczywistości społeczno-zawodowej.

Opis:: Socjoterapia jest często oferowana w Polsce jako forma pomocy dla dzieci i młodzieży z trudnościami w funkcjonowaniu psychospołecznym. Praca socjoterapeutów i socjoterapeutek jest oparta na zaufaniu społecznym i wymaga funkcjonowania w wielu złożonych uwarunkowaniach. Celem niniejszej analizy było poznanie perspektywy socjoterapeutów i socjoterapeutek na trudności i wyzwania w ich codziennej pracy socjoterapeutycznej. W tym celu zostało zebranych 37 wypowiedzi pisemnych od socjoterapeutów pracujących w różnychplacówkach, głównie szkołach i świetlicach socjoterapeutycznych. Wypowiedzi zostały zanalizowane metodą analizy tematycznej (w podejściu autorstwa Braun i Clarke), pozwalającej nawygenerowanie pięciu tematów, które obejmują doświadczenie wyzwań: 1) wyzwaniem jest uczestnik; 2) dbać o grupę jako efektywne środowisko terapeutyczne; 3) pracować „z otwartym sercem”; 4) balansować między pewnością i niepewnością; 5) pracować mimo poczucia, że „nie wszyscy jadą w tę samą stronę”. Tematy mogą otworzyć dyskusję na temat tego, jak wspierać profesjonalistów/tki w ich codziennej pracy, na przykład przez wprowadzanie działań, które mogą zwiększyć ich poczucie wpływu i kontroli nad procesem socjoterapeutycznym. Jednocześnie praca socjoterapeutyczna jawi się jako wymagająca integrowania różnych celów związanych z kontekstami funkcjonowania uczestnika, grupy i instytucji, w których prowadzona jest socjoterapia.
Sociotherapy is often offered in Poland as a form of help for children and youth with psychosocial difficulties. The work of sociotherapists and sociotherapists relies on socialtrust and requires functioning in many complex conditions. The aim of this analysis was to discover the perspective of sociotherapists on difficulties and challenges in their everyday sociotherapeutic work. For this purpose, 37 written statements were obtained from sociotherapists working in various institutions, mainly schools and sociotherapeutic community centers. The statements were analyzed by means of thematic analysis (in Braun and Clarke’s approach), allowing to generate five themes that include the experience of challenges: 1) the challenge is the participant; 2) caring for the group as an effective therapeutic environment; 3) working „with an open heart”; 4) balancing between certainty and uncertainty; 5) working despite the feeling that „not everyone is heading in the same direction”. These themes may open up a discussion on how to support the professionals in their daily work, for example by introducing activities that may increase their sense of influence and control over the sociotherapeutic process. At the same time, sociotherapeutic work appears as requiring the integration of different objectives associated with the contexts of functioning of the participant, the group and the institution in which the sociotherapy takes place.

Opis:: Warto podjąć próbę zmierzenia się z rzeczywistością w kontekście realiów przyjętych norm etycznych i ekologicznych biorąc pod uwagę wyposażenie nauczyciela w nowy profil kwalifikacji zawodowych. Obecne wyzwania, które zostają skutecznie wdrażane w edukację, budzą obawy przed potencjalnym zagrożeniem, ale też wyzwalają pewne nadzieje. Daje się zaobserwować, że ówczesna praca pedagogiczna instrumentalizuje często młodego człowieka, stawiającego pierwsze kroki w roli nauczyciela–przedmiotowca, wychowawcy, do osiągnięcia konkretnych celów politycznych, ekonomicznych oraz pełnienia specjalnych wytyczonych zadań.
It is worth a while to consider the reality of being a teacher in light of accepted ethical and ecological standards, while taking into account new professional qualifications of a teacher. The current challenges that are becoming a vital part of education are at the same time worrisome and a source of hope. It can be observed that the previous pedagogical work often instrumentalizes a young person, who begins his work as a teacher, so as to achieve political and economic objectives, and to perform specific fixed tasks.

The full-scale armed conflict in Ukraine as a challenge for academic military education in Poland

Opis:: The article presents a general assessment of the current state of higher military education in Poland (five military academies). The main purpose of the study was to identify challenges for academic military education in Poland and to propose changes that should be made to improve the situation in the aspect of using experiences from the armed conflict in Ukraine. The study presents, among others: the needs of the Polish Armed Forces in terms of the supply of officer staff; main goals and profiles of education at military universities; challenges facing military universities, competences of management and teaching staff; inappropriate proportions between the number of full-time civilian and military students; problems regarding educational programs, teaching and social infrastructure; and recommendations for systemic changes in the aspect of using experiences from the armed conflict in Ukraine. The author used the methods of analyzing the literature and normative documents, observing phenomena and processes in PME, and comparing and synthesizing research results. The article indicates the solution to the main research problem by formulating the recommendations regarding the directions of changes and systemic reform that should be carried out in higher military education in Poland so that it meets Allied standards and allows for the preparation of Polish Army officers at an optimal level. The chapter may be of interest to decision-makers of the Ministry of Defense, researchers of international and national security, and research workers (teachers and students) of military and civilian universities dealing with professional military education.

The article analyzes the case of the use of Problem based learning, PBL in the aspect of adapting employees to the requirements and expectations of Industry 4.0. The fourth industrial revolution is the next step towards full automation and robotization of activities previously performed by qualified and unqualified production and administrative employees. The work analyzes the usefulness of this method in training production workers to the needs of Industry 4.0. PBL is one of many training techniques conducted outside of the workplace and called in the literature Off the Job. The effectiveness of PBL in the training process in the production workers will be presented, also the advantages of reaching knowledge through the continuous stimulation of the education process will be presented by asking questions and putting challenges / problems before the participants of the training.

It can certainly be said that transport is one of the most significant sectors of the economy today. Without it, most enterprises would not be able to function. This would lead to the disruption of the entire market. The tasks of a driver in road transport do not end only with driving a truck. This article aims to present the tasks, barriers and problems that professional drivers have to deal with on a daily basis and the possible directions for the development of this industry. The article is based on reports of institutions operating on the Polish market, but also on the European market and articles on industry portals. The article concludes with a summary.
