Opis:: Celem artykułu jest analiza wymiarów profesjonalizmu współczesnego nauczyciela w kontek-ście specyfiki nauczycielskiej pracy. Przyjęto stanowisko, że profesjonalizm nauczyciela to nie tylko fachowość, ale spełnienie wysokich standardów poznawczych, działaniowych i etycznych. W związku z tym profesjonalizm współczesnego nauczyciela rozpatrzono w trzech wymiarach: 1) wymiar poznawczy, oznaczający kompetencję w zakresie wiedzy nauczyciela; 2) wymiar działaniowy, który jest kompetencją praktyczną nauczyciela; 3) wymiar etyczny, stanowiący o odpowiedniości moralnej nauczyciela. Ta definicyjna droga wyłonienia trzech wymiarów na-uczycielskiego profesjonalizmu została wzbogacona wymiarem czwartym, który współdecyduje o jakości wykonywania zadań: 4) wymiar pasji.
The aim of the article is to analyze the dimensions of the professionalism of the contemporary teacher in the context of the specificity of the teacher's work. It is assumed that the professional-ism of the teacher is not only the competence, but the fulfillment of high cognitive, behavioral and ethical standards. As a result, the professionalism of the modern teacher has been studied in three dimensions: 1) cognitive dimension, meaning competence in the knowledge of the teacher; 2) activity dimension, which is the practical competence of the teacher; 3) ethical dimension, which represents the moral suitability of the teacher. This definitive way to identify the three dimensions of teacher`s professionalism is enriched by the fourth dimension, which co-decides on the quality of making the tasks: 4) dimension of passion.

Pierwsza z nich poświęcona jest rozwojowi w aspekcie zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi, w drugiej omówiony został coaching, jako nowoczesna forma wspierania rozwoju pracownika w ujęciu teoretycznym oraz praktycznym.
We are living in the time where competence and professionalism matter, that is why social reasons say that people should try to develop strong professional qualifications and strive for a development change for ourselves and organization. This article introduces the idea of the modern method of employee development, which is coaching. It can be divided into two parts. The first one is dedicated to the development in the context of human resource management and the second one discusses the coaching, as a modern method of employee development in theory and practice.

Opis:: In England over the period 2004–2010 there was significant change in the education and training for those working with children and young people to meet policy objectives. This article aims to briefly outline some of the impacts for ‘associate professionals’ who were working in educational settings during this period, and to discuss how these changes may influence their professional status in the longer term. In addition, the article seeks to draw attention to the ways in which policy can reinforce or undermine workforce professionalism, and the variable resources that professions may have to manage these processes. The intention is to provide an insight into processes in one European country that may be of interest to other countries where reform to the organisation of care and education for children may be in development, for example through the development of pre-school infrastructure to meet policy and labour market objectives (i.e. ‘Program MALUCH’ in Poland), as outlined by the Polish Ministerstwo Pracy i Polityki Społecznej (2011).

Opis:: The assault on referees is an act committed by an individual involved in a match such as players, substitutes, coaches, team officials or spectators against a referee that is of a violent or intimidating nature. This study, therefore, investigated the level of assault of referees in Nigeria’s Premier Football League. The participants for the study consisted of two hundred and fifty (250) Nigerian Premier League elite referees, footballers, coaches, and spectators. The purposive sampling technique was used for the study to select the respondents. Sampled used for the study was survey research design. A structured questionnaire with validated and reliability value of 0. 75 was used for data collection. The data was analyzed using the inferential statistics of Chi-square (x2) to test the research questions and hypotheses at 0.05 alpha levels. The three hypotheses of officiating, organization of the league and win at all cost tested, were all rejected. Consequently, some recommendations were made based on the findings of the study.

Opis:: The composition of information law’s terminological lexicon requires a comprehensive study in view of its diversity. The article attempts a linguistic characterization of professionalisms and nomens as important functional elements of the specific vocabulary of the informational and legal field. The purpose of the article is to clarify the specifics of different types of special lexemes (nomens and professionalisms) in informational and legal discourse in comparison with the main lexical unit of the terminological system – the term, which involves the analysis of established views of linguists and new trends in terminological studies regarding the studied types of special vocabulary, the linguistic interpretation of professionalism and the nomenclature unit of scientific style. It has been established that in the speech of specialists, professionalisms verbalize special knowledge, and act as synonymous professional‑conversational doublets, name realities and convey special information. They appear in use, replacing officially recognized terms and adapting themselves to oral collective communication. It was found that professionalisms not codified in dictionaries often penetrate into written speech during the coverage of topical issues by journalistic publications or professionally oriented texts. As part of the terminology of information law, a special group has been identified and classified – nomens, which denote single names, most often their own. It was found that they reveal certain difficulties for codification, since a new nomen is not always accompanied by a characteristic. The presence of professionalisms and nomens in information and legal discourse is quite obvious and is explained by the functional expediency of the names used by specialists in special communication.

Conceptualizing of values of the professionalism of nurses

Opis:: Accepted values are motivating and give direction to taken actions. The object of projected studies are values that underlie professional competence of nurses: (1) professional knowledge and skills, (2) relations among employees, (3) concern for the best interest of the patients. An assumption that the values can change along with the lenght of service has been done. In the research in which participated 60 nurses, modified questionnaire concerning Professional Life Dilemmas, based on Biographic Dilemmas Questionaire by Adam Niemczyński, was used. The results indicate that all the three values are reflected in the way of thinking about the professionalism, reconstituted from the statements in the questionnaire. The assumptions concerning the change in the way of understanding of the professionalism during working life, that goes from knowledge and skills, through the importance of the relation among nurses to the concern for the patient are confirmed.
Wartości uznawane przez ludzi odgrywają rolę motywującą i ukierunkowującą podejmowane przez nich działania. Przedmiotem zaprojektowanych badań są wartości leżące u podstaw profesjonalizmu zawodowego pielęgniarek/pielęgniarzy: (1) profesjonalna wiedza i umiejętności, (2) relacje między pracownikami, (3) troska o dobro pacjenta. Założono, że wartości te mogą się zmieniać wraz ze stażem pracy. W badaniu, w którym uczestniczyło 60 pielęgniarek, wykorzystano zmodyfikowany wywiad o Dylematach Życia Zawodowego, który swoje korzenie ma w Wywiadzie o Dylematach Biograficznych autorstwa Adama Niemczyńskiego. Wyniki wskazują, że wszystkie trzy wartości znalazły swoje odzwierciedlenie w zrekonstruowanych na podstawie wypowiedzi sposobach myślenia o profesjonalizmie. Potwierdziły się także założenia dotyczące zmiany w sposobie rozumienia profesjonalizmu w toku życia zawodowego, który przyjmuje kierunek od wiedzy i umiejętności, przez znaczenie relacji między pielęgniarkami, do troski o pacjenta.

Opis:: This study examines the relationship between professionalism and public service delivery efficiency in Oredo Local Government Secretariat, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. A descriptive research method was adopted and data was collected via a survey of six hundred and seventy one (671) respondents using simple sampling technique. Data collected were analyzed using correlation and linear regression analysis with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 21. The results of the study revealed that there is significant relationship between professionalism and public service delivery efficiency. As predicted, the study also showed that professionalism exerts a positive and statistically significant impact on public service delivery efficiency in Oredo Local Government Secretariat, Benin City, Edo state, Nigeria. On the basis of these findings, the study recommends among others that civil servants should be professional to the core, this is attainable when training and seminars, retraining and reorganization of the system is enforced, by ensuring that the right persons are placed on the right job to yield expected outcome.

Opis:: Introduction and aim. Pediatric nurses play an important role in ensuring quality healthcare through job satisfaction and professional behaviors. This study aims to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and professional behaviors in pediatric nurses. Material and methods. This was a descriptive and cross-sectional study. The sample of the study consisted of 244 pediatric nurses who worked in tertiary university hospitals in Turkey and agreed to participate in the study. Data were obtained through face-to-face interviews using a personal information form, the job satisfaction scale for nurses (JSSN), and the behavioral inventory form for professionalism in nursing (BIPN). Data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 software and evaluated using descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression analysis. Results. The nurses’ JSSN and BIPN means scores were 3.42±0.59 and 5.69±4.05, respectively. A statistically significant moderate positive relationship was found between the pediatric nurses’ professional behaviors and job satisfaction (R=0.342; p<0.001). The regression analysis revealed that professional behaviors significantly and positively influenced job satisfaction in pediatric nurses (β=0.050; p<0.001). Conclusion. This study found that pediatric nurses had a moderate level of job satisfaction and a low level of professional behaviors, and as their professional behavior increased, their job satisfaction also increased.
