Opis:
The article concerns the challenges for the teachers who are engaged in preventative actions in the contemporary school. The author takes the issues relating to the problems faced by teachers implementing school prophylaxis programs. This problem was taken up in the study because during interviews and work with teachers the author noted that they are struggling with problems in constructing and implementing school prevention programs. Not every teacher knows what the standards for prophylaxis interventions are and how they are designed to build programs. The research was conducted using the diagnostic survey method, survey technique, questionnaire survey tool. The research group counted a total of 111 subjects. The goal of theoretical and cognitive research was to diagnose the problems teachers face when designing and implementing a school prophylaxis program. The practical and implementation objective was to develop recommendations for schools and municipalities in support of teachers who implement the school prophylaxis program. Research shows that respondents have the support to implement prophylaxis impacts at school, these activities are rather monitored and evaluated, the climate is conducive to school prophylaxis, and the programs are based on scientific basis. However, according to the educators, there are insufficient funds for prophylaxis, and they are rather low in their competence. In addition, teachers with work experience up to 5 years worse than others evaluate some areas related to prophylaxis. In the end there are shown also areas in which teachers feel the need to improve their competence in the field of prophylaxis. At the end are presented conclusions and practical recommendations for use in educational institutions, which implement programs in the field of universal prophylaxis. Keywords: prophylaxis, school prophylaxis program, competence of prophylaxis.

Opis:
Introduction: Malaria is the most common tropical infectious disease caused by parasitic protozoa, affecting every year about 220 million of people with about 1-3 million deaths. It is known that every 30 seconds one African child dies from malaria. Moreover, malaria as the most common imported tropical disease is the most frequent cause of deaths. Currently, in African countries, every year, about 300-500 million people have malaria, and more than a million die from malaria. A high percentage of deaths refers to children under 5 years old, pregnant women and susceptible individuals. Materials and methods: The examination was carried out from July to September, 2011 year in 60 peoplepatients of the Out-patients Clinic f St. Francis Hospital, in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, using the questionnaire created by author. Results: As many as 96.7% of respondents answered that the best method was avoiding mosquitoes via using bed mosquito nets and protective clothing. A total of 51.7% indicated chemical substances as an effective protective method against malaria. The surveyed named repellents such as liquids, aerosols, creams and sticks. Thirty two people (53.7%) wrote that an effective protective method against malaria was to avoid mosquitoes’ incubation sites, to remove garbage frequently and to clear regularly ponds round the houses. Conclusion: Ugandan patients identified the risk factors and groups, non-key symptoms and prophylaxis against malaria. The majority of Ugandan patients indicated there was vaccine against malaria. More than half of Ugandan patients (65%) declared that a mosquito bite is the route of malaria infection, however, more than 50% of those living in rural areas thought on other routes such as, e.g. unboiled water.

Opis:
The aim of the following work is to evaluate faulty posture rate among kindergarten children. The following article describes the objective and the character of the promotional and prophylactic program conducted by the Wrocław City Council (Urząd Miasta Wrocławia) concerning the “Keep straight” (“Trzymaj się prosto”) campaign. The program includes youth between age of seven and seventeen in whom slight symptoms of faulty posture, concerning lower limbs and the spine, were revealed during examination. The only prophylactic activity assumed by the “Keep it straight” campaign are corrective exercises in gymnasium and swimming pool. The screening of the children and youth also allows introductional diagnostics and recognition of permanent faults and direction of the patients to specialist treatment in orthopedic and rehabilitation clinics. The screening was conducted on the verge of October and November 2007. A physical posture examination method was used to evaluate the faults that appeared. The children from five of Wrocław`s kindergartens were examined. The following work presents the symptomatology of the most frequent faults and highlights the necessity of conducting prophylactic activity at a very young age. The faulty posture is a serious diagnostic and therapeutic problem among young children and can be a source of severe health problems in their future. 373 children were examined. Faulty posture was revealed among 295 what represents 79,08% of the patients; 78 were described as healthy (20,92%). There were 160 boys (80,8%) and 135 girls (77,14%) in the group with faulty posture. There were 38 (19,2%) boys without faulty posture and 40 (22,86%) girls in the same group.

Opis:
Introduction. According to statistics, breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in Poland. Progress in treatment and diagnosis gives an opportunity of a quick diagnosis, but women are reluctant to undergo prophylaxis screening. Aim. To identify women’s attitudes about breast cancer prophylaxis. Material and methods. The diagnostic survey was conducted in a group of 200 women. The research tool was the questionnaire developed by the authors. Results. Knowledge about breast cancer and prophylaxis was on an average level. Nearly half of the women surveyed (45.5%) declared that they do not ask for a breast examination while visiting a gynecologist. Only 26.8% of the surveyed women were systematically subjected to preventive examinations for breast cancer, while 18.7% of them performed breast self-examination. Every fifth respondent used invitation for a free mammogram. Conclusion. The women’s knowledge about breast cancer is average, but it does not translate into their attitudes towards the prevention of this cancer. Most women niether perform breast self-examination nor benefit from free prophylaxis programs. Younger respondents most often use the Internet. Education and place of residence do not affect the participation of women in preventive examinations for breast cancer.

Opis:
The aim of the presentation is to present preventive measures and preventive measures being taken by the Polish Police in the area of domestic violence, using the feature films e.g. Pręgi and Plac Zbawicela. In this article, the following issues will be shown: existence of domestic violence with its psychological, emotional, social and religious determinants and long-term consequences for the victim as well. It is also appropriate to discuss socio-psychological context of violence. Firstly, we will show the sustainability of pathological conditions of the situations. Secondly, we will consider reasons for lack of defence activities. At the very end we will present negation attitudes and behaviour of the offender and the factors causing enslavement of the victims (affection and dependency in terms of social functioning in family, marriage or in concubinage). In order to present the whole problem included in the title of this presentation, we ought to point the regulations and the legal basis for all actions that have to eliminate this phenomenon (the Constitution, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Criminal Code, the Law on prevention of domestic violence, the procedure NK). The practical part of the discussed issues will be the analysis of specific forms of violence: threats punishable with art.190 of the Penal Code, stalking with art. 190a of the Penal Code, coercion with art.191 of the Penal Code, domestic violence with art. 207 of the Penal Code, pimping of art. 204 of the Penal Code, paedophilia and pornography presenting people with Article minors. 200 of the Penal Code, the Penal Code 200a, 200b of the Penal Code, trafficking in human beings (so called – Abdomen for rent) and human organs; trafficking for prostitution. Another issue there will be linguistic and rhetorical analysis of prophylactic actions regarding to its stylistics e.g. an visual imagery, comparisons and a paraphrase. As far as working tools are concerned, it should be stressed that beyond the previously parsed spoken word, it is reasonable to discuss the role of the merits of a multimedia presentation, as also to analyze and highlight the role of the feature film. It is worth stating that films graphically and emotionally relate to the presented issues using the depicted history and the ensuing timeless content. What is more, they help to enhance the acquisition and consolidation of the meeting’s theme and they enable to sensitize on identical pathological phenomena that occur in the real environment of each of the participants. The last but not least is the fact that films encourage to protect themselves and others and they teach how to maximize the effectiveness of preventive actions. At the very end, there is a place for the conclusions that follow our analysis of forms and methods of work in crime prevention in domestic violence. First of all, they will give opportunities for a better impact on the recipient as well as they will help to improve further action in this regard.

Opis:
Introduction. The epidemic of human immunodeficiency virus has had a tremendous effect on the epidemic of tuberculosis. Together with the spread of HIV, a great increase has been observed in morbidity due to tuberculosis, both in endemic countries and in those where earlier, as a result of treatment, the frequency of occurrence of tuberculosis had decreased. In 2018, the WHO data demonstrated that the EECA region was the only region worldwide where the epidemics of HIV was still rapidly increasing. The EECA region still struggles with a serious epidemic of tuberculosis. Materials and method. The research method applied was comparative analysis of the results of own study and studies by other researchers, concerning the effectiveness of tuberculosis prophylaxis in patients with HIV/AIDS when treated with isoniazid. Results. In own study, it was found that primary morbidity among patients administered isoniazid significantly decreased within 5 years. Incidence rates of primary morbidity were significantly lower than among patients who had not received isoniazid. Relevant studies conducted worldwide, in many cases differed from own study with respect to both the results and approach to the problem, by country or selection of the type of patients participating in the study. However, in all studies, isoniazid was generally a safe and well-tolerated drug, without special side-effects. Conclusions. All studies analyzed concerning the effectiveness of tuberculosis prophylaxis in patients with HIV/AIDS treated with isoniazid, confirmed the effectiveness of this drug. In the compared studies, applied isoniazid preventive therapy showed no difference in effectiveness according to its duration. Analyzed studies showed similar effectiveness also with respect to a decrease in mortality among patients with TB/HIV/AIDS.

Opis:
Comparison of personalized and standard prophylaxis prevention therapies based on octocog alfa in pediatric patients with hemophilia A. Studies on a general population (adults and children) demonstrate a statistically significant advantage of personalized prevention therapy over standard prophylaxis prevention therapy in terms of annual bleeding rate (ABR) and annual joint bleeding rate (AJBR) while studies on a pediatric population included insufficiently large populations, however, their results demonstrate a numerical advantage of personalized approach over standard prevention strategy prophylaxis regimen.
