Opis:: The purpose of the article was examining moral values of the prisoners. Prosociality was adopted as the conception of the moral order. It consists of three aspects: individual morality (personal norms), interpersonal morality (the motives of moral behaviour) and civil behaviour. The examination was carried out in the group of one hundred men imprisoned in Correctional Institution in Płock. The analysis of the examination results shows the differences of the moral values in the group of the convicts. The expectations expressed in the investigational hypotheses, that the level of the implementation of moral values is influenced by faith and religious observances, criminal record and the attitude to the rules of the criminal subculture, were partially confirmed. Having carried out the examinations, the assumption that the prisoners are rotten so turning down all or most moral values and norms is baseless. Among the convicts there are, of course, persons with high level of demoralization, the active representatives of the criminal subculture and antisocially disordered. However, it is not pertinent to scrutinize the whole population of the convicts.

Opis:: Inclusive classrooms provide new opportunities for group membership and creation of effective learning environments. In order to facilitate the success of inclusion as an approach and philosophy, it is important that all class members as well as their teachers develop the skills to understand one another, and to communicate and work together effectively. Students with or without disabilities have the right to be educated in the least restrictive, most appropriate environment. The movement toward less restrictive environments is not only a school phenomenon; it is a societal one with the ultimate goal being to have individuals with all types of disabilities live, work and be educated in their own communities. For this reason it is imperative that the schools adjust to serve all students. If we do not work in this line, it is conceivable that he/she will not develop the necessary skills for how to effectively live and work with them. EBE-EUSMOSI have the aim to identify and integrate, within a reference model, the research procedures which can contribute to an evidence-based validation of educational programs aimed at school inclusion for all pupils. The PROSEL program was conceived: (1) From the will to experiment with innovative didactic practices which support the structure of an inclusive school through the development of social, prosocial and emotional skills in all students; (2) From the commitment to give teachers, appropriate “tools” useful in their daily work and adaptable in the increasingly heterogeneous classes. Four basic approaches to implement the PROSEL program: Systematical teaching of the social-emotional and prosocial competences; Integration of the social-emotional and prosocial competences in others subjects; Create a positive climate in class; Engaging the families.

Opis:: Ethical education has more than a twenty-year-long tradition in Slovak education and still evokes discourse both in the professional community and among lay public. Therefore, alongside with practical measuring of efficiency of prosociality, research activity is focused on examination of ethical, philosophical, anthropological, psychological and pedagogical foundations of social relationality with regard to contemporary valid conception of ethical education in school education in Slovakia. Since the notion of prosociality is relatively unknown in the philosophical-educational discourse, the submitted paper offers several ideas on connection between prosocial behaviour and moral-philosophical thinking. At the same time, it briefly discusses the importance of presence of pedagogical love in education while implementing prosociality in contemporary school education in Slovakia.

Opis:: Prosociality, understood as the capacity to act in a way that benefits others, is an important feature for emerging adults to fulfill their personal needs and fulfill developmental tasks. This life period is a time of exploration within various areas of life, enabling individuals to try out and choose own worldview, lifestyle, work and preferred patterns of interpersonal relationships. This review aims at bringing together the evidence on how prosociality (prosocial orientations, values, behaviors) or deficits in such features may be linked to the fulfillment of three basic human needs as conceptualized by the self-determination theory in emerging adults. The relation of prosociality to the three tasks in the context of development in emerging adulthood: (1) reaching autonomy from the family of origin, (2) achieving own identity and (3) establishing positive relationships with others, are outlined based on a literature review. Implications for future research are also provided.

Introduction. The material presented here is an attempt to indicate the meaning and the role of prosociality in individual biographies, but it also captures the problem in a much broader social dimension. The subjective review of concepts and approaches conducted allows us to treat prosociality as an essential topic of scientific discourse while seeing it as a challenge for pedagogical practice, with particular attention to the responsibilities of key educational environments - family and school. Aim. The purpose of this inquiry is to draw attention to the need for forming pro-social attitudes, as well as opportunities for specific educational environments in this process. Emphasizing the positive effects of pro-sociality and the possible negative consequences of its absence, an attempt was made to justify its impact on human (co)existence. Materials and methods. The text is an overview, based on reference analysis. Results. The presented material allowed us to demonstrate the importance and benefits of prosociality both for the functioning of the individual and for societies. Also, it indicates the important role of the family and school environment in building and promoting pro-social attitudes.

Tytuł:: Grandiose and vurnerable narcissism and prosociality: do narcissists like to help? When do narcissists decide to help the other person, and when do they avoid it?

Opis:: This quasi-experimental study looks at how self activation influences the behavior and prosociality of people with different levels of narcissism. The study began by measuring levels of various forms of narcissism - grandiose, vulnerable and communal one. The level of agentic narcissism among the respondents (N = 344, age range 18-48) was determined in the survey using the NPI13 scale, and the level of vulnerable narcissism using the HSNS scale. The results of people with a high level of agentic narcissism and people with a low level of agentic narcissism were compared to check whether and how the activation of various aspects of self influences behavior in the context of prosociality (research question). Activation of various aspects of the self was carried out with the help of instructions: The participants of the study were randomly assigned to three groups, in which they were asked to recall a situation in which they selflessly put the needs of others above their own (communal success) or an event when, thanks to their own efficiency and competence, they succeeded in an agentic domain (agentic success), or a situation in which they have failed due to their behavior (agentic failure). In the next section, the respondents completed tasks that examined their level of prosociality. Prosocial motivation was tested using three instruments. The first was the SVO task - an instrument for measuring interpersonal orientation. The second measure of prosociality was the narrative task The Case of Little Kasia, and the third possibility of making a real donation to charity, in the case of this survey, 50 groszy for each completed page of the survey. A hypothesis was made that a given situation (mentioning communal success, agentic success, agentic failure) would significantly moderate the relationship between narcissism and the investigated measures of prosociality. These effects were also expected to vary with the form of narcissism studied.In the study, the statements contained in the hypotheses were mostly confirmed. However, the hypothesis H1.2 that in the condition of agentic failure we expected no relationship or a positive relationship between magnitude and grandiose narcissism with prosociality measured in three ways – was not confirmed. Also, in one case (concerning the hypothesis H2 - vulnerable narcissism) the various results turned out to be inconsistent, and thus the conclusions are ambiguous. This encourages further research on the problem of the relationship between vulnerable narcissism and prosociality.
Niniejsze badanie quasi-eksperymentalne dotyczy tego, w jaki sposób aktywizacja ja wpływa na zachowanie i prospołeczność osób o różnych poziomach narcyzmu. Badanie zaczęło się od pomiaru poziomów różnych form narcyzmu – sprawczego, nadwrażliwego i wspólnotowego. Poziom narcyzmu sprawczego wśród ankietowanych (N=344, przedział wiekowy 18-48 lat) został w ankiecie określony poprzez zastosowanie skali NPI13, natomiast poziom narcyzmu nadwrażliwego przy użyciu skali HSNS. Porównano wyniki osób z wysokim poziomem narcyzmu wielkościowego sprawczego i osób o niskim poziomie narcyzmu sprawczego, aby sprawdzić czy i w jaki sposób aktywizacja różnych aspektów ja wpływa na zachowanie w kontekście prospołeczności (pytanie badawcze). Aktywizacja różnych aspektów ja została przeprowadzona przy pomocy instrukcji: Uczestnicy badania zostali losowo przydzieleni do trzech grup, w których zostali poproszeni o przypomnienie sobie sytuacji, w której bezinteresownie postawili potrzeby innych ponad własnymi (sukces wspólnotowy) lub wydarzenia, gdy dzięki własnej skuteczności i kompetencji odnieśli sukces (sukces sprawczy), lub sytuacji, w której przez swoje postepowanie ponieśli porażkę (porażka sprawcza). W kolejnej sekcji respondenci wypełniali zadania, które badały ich poziom prospołeczności. Motywację prospołeczną zbadano przy pomocy trzech instrumentów. Pierwszym było zadanie SVO - instrument do pomiaru orientacji interpersonalnej. Drugą miarą prospołeczności było zadanie narracyjne Przypadek małej Kasi, a trzecią możliwość przekazania prawdziwego datku na cele charytatywne, w przypadku tej ankiety 50 groszy za każdą wypełnioną stronę badania.Postawiono hipotezę, że dana sytuacja (wspomnienie sukcesu wspólnotowego, sukcesu sprawczego, porażki sprawczej) będzie istotnie moderować związek narcyzmu z badanymi miarami prospołeczności. Spodziewano się, że efekty te będą również różnić się w zależności od badanej formy narcyzmu.W badaniu stwierdzenia zawarte hipotezach w większości potwierdziły się. Jednak założenie w hipotezie szczegółowej (H1.2) tego, że w warunku porażki sprawczej spodziewaliśmy się braku związku lub pozytywnego związku narcyzmu wielkościowego sprawczego z prospołecznością mierzoną na trzy sposoby – nie sprawdziło się. Natomiast w jednym przypadku (dotyczącym hipotezy H2 – narcyzmu nadwrażliwego) wyniki okazały się ze sobą sprzeczne, a co za tym idzie wnioski są niejednoznaczne. Zachęca to do dalszych badań nad problemem związku narcyzmu nadwrażliwego z prospołecznością.

Tytuł:: Influence of contact with music on prejudice
Wpływ kontaktu z muzyką na uprzedzenia

Opis:: The presence of prejudice is a relevant, complex and vital issue, and tools that can counteract them are needed. Considering the important role that music has always played in human life, the social impact it can make in this context was described and tested, as well as its possible mediators and moderators. In an intergroup study, participants were exposed either to a silence, a song with a pro-social text, an instrumental version of it or a song from the Middle East region. In the groups with instrumental and Middle Eastern music, the level of prejudice among right-wing subjects was significantly lower. Music with pro-social text did not have such an influence. Simple intergroup effects have not been clearly demonstrated, and postulated mediators were statistically insignificant. Causes of the observed results and the directions of further research are discussed.
Tematem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest wpływ kontaktu z muzyką na uprzedzenia. Dokonany przegląd literatury pozwolił na stwierdzenie, że obecność uprzedzeń w relacjach międzygrupowych to aktualna, złożona i ważna kwestia, także w kontekście polskim i istnieje potrzeba znajdywania narzędzi służących ich przeciwdziałaniu. Rozpatrzywszy istotną rolę, jaką w życiu ludzkim zawsze odgrywała i wciąż odgrywa muzyka, opisany i sprawdzony został wpływ społeczny, jaki odgrywać może ona właśnie w kontekście zmniejszania uprzedzeń, a także możliwe mediatory i moderatory tego wpływu. W badaniu przeprowadzonym w schemacie międzygrupowym, uczestnicy w grupach eksperymentalnych wystawieni zostali na kontakt z utworem z tekstem prospołecznym, jego instrumentalną wersją lub utworem z rejonu bliskowschodniego. Przeprowadzone analizy wykazały, że w grupach z muzyką instrumentalną oraz bliskowschodnią poziom uprzedzeń wśród osób o prawicowych poglądach był istotnie niższy niż w grupie, w której kontakt z muzyką nie nastąpił. Wpływu takiego nie miała muzyka z tekstem prospołecznym. Proste efekty międzygrupowe nie zostały jednoznacznie wykazane, a większość postulowanych w literaturze mediatorów tego efektu okazało się być nieistotna. W dyskusji opisano prawdopodobne przyczyny zaobserwowanych wyników i dalsze kierunki badań.

Opis:: This work was aimed at investigating relationships between grandiose narcissism and Problematic Internet Use ) as well as unempathetic responding in social media. Prior studies provided conflicting findings concerning the link between narcissism and Problematic Internet Use. We hypothesized that Problematic Internet Use would be linked to unempathetic responses and that narcissism and its components would be related to unempathetic responding to other people s requests for help via Problematic Internet Use. We explored the role of gender in these relationships. In the correlational study we used Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI), Internet Addiction Test and behavioral measures of unempathetic responding: verbal reactions to a fictitious post from another Facebook user asking for help in searching for a lost dog as well as declared willingness to help by reposting the lost dog post to ones own profile. Facebook users (N = 87) completed an online survey. Results showed that Problematic Internet Use was related to unempathetic responses only in women. Furthermore, only one component of narcissism Demand for Admiration (partly overlapping with Entitlement/Exploitativeness subscale of NPI) was significantly related to Problematic Internet Use and the latter mediated the link between narcissism and unempathetic responses exclusively in women. In men the relationship between narcissistic Demand for Admiration with unempathetic responses was direct and independent from Problematic Internet Use. We discussed implications of the results and limitations of the current research.

Opis:: In the article I used fragments of my research studies, prepared on the basis of narrative interviews. I formulated the main research problem in the form of a question: What is the significance of the family in shaping prosocial attitudes among those who perform over-personal tasks? I am also looking for answers to the following questions: Can you find sources of interest in social issues within your and your family biography? Thanks to the use of narrative interviews, I was able to read and understand elements of the subjects reality. I was able to look into the sources and experiences related to the over-personal tasks of the examined persons. Their subjective interpretations of their behaviors, experiences related to different situations, people and events gave a clear picture about the importance of the family in forming a prosocial profile.
W artykule wykorzystałam fragmenty moich badań, przygotowanych na podstawie wywiadów narracyjnych. Główny przyjęty przeze mnie problem badawczy sformułowałam w formie pytania: jakie znaczenie ma rodzina w kształtowaniu postaw prospołecznych u tych osób, które realizują zadania ponadosobiste? Poszukuję również odpowiedzi na pytanie: czy w biografii własnej i rodziny można odnaleźć źródła zainteresowania problematyką społeczną? Dzięki zastosowaniu wywiadów narracyjnych mogłam zrozumieć elementy rzeczywistości badanych. Mogłam dokonać wglądu w źródła i doświadczenia związane z realizacją zadań ponadosobistych badanych osób. Ich subiektywne interpretacje swoich zachowań, przeżyć związanych z różnymi sytuacjami, osobami, wydarzeniami, dały obraz znaczenia rodziny w formowaniu postaw prospołecznych.
