Opis:: The article considers the problem of proverb stability and modifications, difference between the terms modification and transformation. Characterized are the main methods of transformation of the proverb “The devil is not as terrible as it is depicted” in newspaper discourse and social networks, while the functional potential of anti‐proverbs formed on its basis is described. The author draws the conclusion that standard modifications within the national paremiological corpus cannot be perceived as textual or occasional modifications. They should be taken as systemic variations within the language norm that exist in the mind of native speakers, ones that do not add another semantic meaning and are not recognized by native speakers as proverb deformations. Differences between proverbs (sayings of an edifying character, which contain the centuries‐old experience of the people) and anti‐proverbs (the authors consider anti‐proverbs to be the semantic antithesis of proverbs) are highlighted. The authors pay special attention to the study of the semantics of proverbs and their transformants to identify any relevant semantic and cognitive characteristics. The productive transformation of classical proverbs convinces one of the heredity of folk wisdom, the change of the deep meaning and formal plan of the original proverbs testifies to their adaptation to new social and historical conditions and values. As a result of the investigation it was observed that proverbs as with folklore small genre texts are flexible, open to transformation, reproduction, semantic and textual deviations. These communicative units are distinguished with dynamism, evolution, formal and semantic deviations. They go back to the precedent texts, starting their new life.

Opis:: This article is an attempt to analyze anti-proverbs related to the SARS-COV-2 pandemic, extracted from Twitter under the hashtag #covidsprichwörter. The subject of the study is all paremiological neologisms in relation to their source proverbs, in order to be able to determine which of the traditional proverbs enjoy particular popularity among Twitter users due to the number of existing variants. In order to achieve the stated goal, the topic of anti-proverbs is first analyzed. In the next part, the new formations are examined for their formal similarity with the prototypical proverbs in relation to the syntax and type of transformation.

Opis:: Proverbs and sayings with adversative conjunctions in the Russian language fall into three categories: mono-, multi- and non-predicative structures. They are built according to various syntactic patterns, which proves that the spontaneity of their appearance in the language is not absolute but relative, as their formation is determined by specific laws of derivation. Russian proverbs and sayings with adversative conjunctions are based on contrast, contradiction and contrary expectation. The stylistic devices used in them, namely rhyme, personification, metaphor, metonymy, simile, gradation, chiasm, serve a number of functions. The structure of proverbs and sayings with adversative conjunctions is stable although their components are subject to morphemic, morphological, syntactic and quantitative variation. There are several synonymous and polysemous units among them, as well.
W języku rosyjskim można wyróżnić trzy kategorie powiedzeń i przysłów ze spójnikami przeciwstawnymi: struktury jedno- i wielopredykatowe oraz konstrukcje bez predykatu; są zbudowane według różnych wzorców składniowych, co dowodzi, że spontaniczność ich pojawiania się w języku nie jest absolutna, lecz względna, ponieważ ich tworzenie podlega określonym zasadom derywacji. Rosyjskie przysłowia i powiedzenia ze spójnikami przeciwstawnymi opierają się na kontraście, sprzeczności i przeciwnych oczekiwaniach. Zastosowane w nich środki stylistyczne – rym, personifikacja, metafora, metonimia, porównanie, gradacja, chiazm – pełnią różne funkcje. Struktura takich powiedzeń i przysłów jest stabilna, pomimo że ich składniki podlegają zmianom morfemicznym, morfologicznym, syntaktycznym i ilościowym. Występują wśród nich również jednostki synonimiczne i polisemiczne.

W artykule poddano analizie stałość oraz zmienność przysłów, rozróżniono pojęcia zmienności i transformacji. Normatywna uzualna zmienność nie jest tożsama z tekstową, okazjonalną zmiennością, lecz stanowi zmienność systemową, wypracowaną w procesie historycznego rozwoju zasobu paremijnego w świadomości mówiących i nie ma dodatkowego ładunku semantycznego, nie uświadamia się przez etnos jako wykroczenie, wykrzywienie tradycyjnego przysłowia. O produktywnej transformacji klasycznych paremii przekonuje dziedziczenie mądrości ludowej, a przekształcenie głębokich treści i cech formalnych takich przysłów świadczy o ich dostosowaniu do nowych społeczno-historycznych warunków i wartości. Resemantyzacja tradycyjnych przysłów jednoznacznie dowodzi ich istotności oraz aktualności, bo przecież jeżeli tradycyjna wypowiedź nie jest zmieniana, nie jest oceniana przez każde nowe pokolenie na swój sposób, staje się nieaktualna i nieistotna dla społeczeństwa. Antyprzysłowia częściowo burzą wypracowane przez stulecia stereotypy kosztem komicznego przepracowania ich semantyki.

Opis:: In the paper the author puts forward basie tenets of paremiostylistics - a study of the sty listic values of proverbs in literary texts. The author suggests that proverbs be analysed as stylistic devices separately from other phraseological units due to their having specific and unique features. However, the author emphasises the similarities between proverbs and other fixed expressions, which makes his comments on proverbs applicable to an ana- lysis of other phraseological units as well. In the paper the author discusses, among other things: paremic style, paremic selection, the use of canonical forms of proverbs and their modifications, paremic allusion, functions of proverb in literary texts. His illustrative materiał comes from Salman Rushdie’s novels, which are remarkably phraseological. The author postulates that quantitative and qualitative methods be used in analyses of proverbs in literary texts.

Opis:: Artykuł dotyczy komizmu słownego zawartego w przysłowiach hiszpańskich. Korpus wykorzystany do analizy stanowią przysłowia z zakresu ograniczonego do tematu kobiety. Komiczność nie jest cechą konieczną, by dany twór językowy zakwalifikować jako przysłowie, ale w niektórych kręgach tematycznych jest ona dlań bardzo charakterystyczna. Tematyka przysłów została tu wybrana właśnie ze względu na ich reprezentatywny charakter: wiele z nich zawiera niewątpliwie szereg elementów komicznych. W opracowaniu, składającym się z 6 części, znaleźć można jasną klasyfikację mechanizmów komicznych, podzielonych na ogólne i typowo językowe. Wśród mechanizmów ogólnych szczególną uwagę zwrócono na kontrast (w tym głównie zestawienie), zaskoczenie i przesadę (zarówno typowo słowną jak i pozajęzykową). Mechanizmy typowo językowe opisane w artykule to komiczna modyfikacja wyrazów, neologia, komiczne użycie tradycyjnych jednostek języka oraz rym. Poza tą klasyfikacją znaleźć tu można również podział przysłów na żarty słowne tendencyjne i niewinne, z których te pierwsze stanowią bez wątpienia większość.

Opis:: Figurative language has been the subject of interdisciplinary research for ages. It is considered by philosophers, linguists, as well as psychologists and pedagogues. The forms of figurative languages include for example., metaphors, proverbs, phrasemes and oxymorons. The metaphoric language is deeply in human’ experience and it is used unconsciously in everyday situations. Lakoff and Johnson (1988) stress that metaphors are a showcase for man: “Show me your metaphors, and I tell you who you are”. This quote very well highlights the omnipresence of the metaphorical language in human life. The article discusses the notion of figurative language and its forms. Moreover, the subject of the description is three the most popular forms of metaphorical language: metaphor, proverb and phraseological. In addition, the problem of figurative language in school education is emphasized at every level of education.

Opis:: Celem pracy magisterskiej jest kontrastywne przedstawienie przysłów pogodowych w języku niemieckim i polskim. Pierwszy rozdział poświęcony jest założeniom frazeologicznych badań, a szczególnie pojęciu "frazeologizm". W rozdziale drugim są wprowadzone różne definicje przysłów, ich wiek, pochodzenie i najważniejsze źródła przekazu. Następnie pojawia się użycie przysłów w przeszłych i obecnych czasach. Rozdział czwarty zajmuje się szczególnym rodzajem przysłów mianowicie: przysłowiami pogodowymi i rolniczymi, które przez wielu naukowców są zaliczane do najstarszych przysłów. W rozdziale ostatnim przedstawione i zanalizowane są niemieckie i polskie pary przysłów pogodowych według typów ekwiwalencji. Jak przybliża tytuł pracy przysłowia wybrane koncentrują się na temacie "czterech pór roku".
Das Ziel der Arbeit unter dem Titel "Vier Jahreszeiten in deutschen und polnischen Sprichwörtern" ist Wetter- und Bauernregeln als ein phraseologisches Subsystem des Deutschen und Polnischen kontrastiv darzustellen. Das erste Kapitel wird allgemein der Grundlagen der phraseologischen Forschung gewidmet. Es werden auch Merkmale der Phraseologismen genannt und beschrieben. Im Kapitel zwei ist es die Betrachtung zu Problemen der parömiologischen Forschung zu finden. Darüber hinaus werden die Definitionen der Sprichwörter und ihre Verhältnis zu anderen verwandten Gattungen (wie Sentenz, Aphorismus, Maxime, das geflügelte Wort, Slogan und die sprichwörtliche Redensart) dargestellt. Das Kapitel drei befasst sich mit dem Alter und der Herkunft von Sprichwörtern, zeigt die wichtigsten Überlieferungsquellen und Gebrauch der Sprichwörter. Im Kapitel vier werden die Wetter- und Bauernregeln näher bestimmt. Sie bilden eine interessante Sonderform der Sprichwörter, die am ältesten sind. Um das Thema klarer zu machen, kann man dafür ein Beispiel nennen: "Mai kühl und Juni nass, füllen beides Scheun' und Fass". Im letzten Kapitel fünf werden 44 deutsch - polnische Sprichwortpaare kontrastiv nach ihrer Äquivalenz dargestellt und analysiert. Bei der Analyse werden unterschiedliche Stufen von Gemeinsamkeiten und Parallelen festgestellt.
The research of my work are German and Polish proverbs, which are connected with four seasons. First I present the concept of phraseology and idioms, next the study of proverbs called paremiology, its definitions and relations to another related subcategories. There are also some informations about sources, the age and the using of the proverbs. The last chapters in my work present the oldest group: the weather proverbs, which are usually based on observations of the people. There are 44 German and Polish weather proverbs analysed and divided by the types of equivalence.

Opis:: During my research I found many similarities related to women’s image retained in proverbs of both nations, but also some differences. There are common characteristics conditioned by the similarities of women’s position and role in the Korean and Polish history. For example, women were, in both cultures, the inferior sex, illogical beings, the objects subordinated culturally and legally to men, the creatures prone to betrayal, chatty, clever, sly, mischievous, vain, extravagant and quarrelsome. Despite the apparent misogyny, the proverbs—both Korean and Polish—acknowledge in various aspects, the existence of women, who are better and nobler than men, also signal significant influence of women upon men. In addition, the authors of proverbs appreciate such positive qualities of women as feminine goodness, gentleness, economy, being a good companion of life for a man, etc. In contrast, clear differences between the image of women in the Korean and Polish proverbs are related to the fact that in the Polish proverbs the dominant image of women is the image of a person who is clever, often associated with the devil, which in the Korean proverbs does not occur at all. Another significant difference between the Korean and the Polish proverbs consists in the presentation of a tragic fate of women who, in the former Korea depended absolutely on men, believing in many superstitions associated with women.

Opis:: The article discusses proverb innovations in the aspect of textual criticism. On one hand, their functional specificity allows them to be still considered as fully-featured proverbs, on the other hand, it reveals an array of peculiarities related to modification and/or expansion of lexical composition of the output proverb, which is connected with identification of particular levels of meaning (literal, figurative and situational) by the receiver.
