Opis:
The most commonly quenching process for carburizing gears is the oil-quenching (OQ) and salt-quenching (SQ), and finite analysis and comparison of OQ and SQ on the carburizing gear ring were performed. Wherein, the accurate simulation of gear carburization was obtained by the alloying element coefficient for diffusion coefficient and experiment validation. The heat transfer coefficients measured by the inverse heat transfer method was used to the temperature simulation, and the gear distortion mechanism was analyzed by the simulated results. By the comparison of OQ, SQ had higher cooling capacity in the high temperature region and slow cooling rate in the temperature range where martensite transformation occurs. The martensite transformation was more sufficient, and the compressive stress of the tooth was greater in the SQ. The tooth showed a drum-shaped and slight saddle-shaped distortion in the OQ and SQ, respectively. The simulated distortion results have good consistency with the measured results, and the SQ distortion was more uniform and stable based on the measured results.

Opis:
This paper presents a comparison of the deformations and residual stresses in gear wheels after vacuum carburizing process with quenching in high-pressure nitrogen and oil. The comparison was made on a medium-sized gear wheels, made of AMS6265 (AISI 9310) steel. This steel is applied in the aerospace industry for gears. The study has provided grounds for an assessment of the effect of the method of quenching on the size of deformations. Compared to oil quenching, high-pressure gas quenching following vacuum carburizing resulted in more uniform and smaller deformations.

Gaining insight into mechanisms of nonphotochemical quenching of chlorophyll fluorescence in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii via the observation of dark-induced state transitions
Autorzy:

Opis:
Photosynthetic organisms are usually exposed to fluctuating light, and therefore they evolved mechanisms enabling fast acclimation to changing light conditions. Among them, two important ones are energy-dependent quenching of excited chlorophyll (qE) and state transitions (ST). qE is a photoprotective mechanism regulated by pH gradient across thylakoid membranes, in which excessive energy is dissipated as heat. ST are rearrangements of antenna systems regulated by the phosphorylation of LHC II complexes. Both of these mechanisms result in changes in NPQ parameters. In the present article, changes of NPQ in the green microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii were evaluated in the dark period, after various lengths of actinic light exposure, and after the application of the thiol reducing reagent dithiotreitol and the cyt $b_{6}f$ inhibitor 2' ,4' -dinitrophenyl ether of 2-iodo-4-nitro-thymol. The impact of the length of actinic light exposure on xanthophyll cycle progression in C. reinhardtii was also analysed. The obtained results enabled us to gain more insight into the nonphotochemical quenching of chlorophyll fluorescence in model organism C. reinhardtii, i.e. the role of zeaxanthin-dependent quenching and chlororespiration-induced pH gradient, and the inhibitory action of tested compounds on state transitions in this species.

Opis:
The results of study of the influence of boron and phosphorous doping and hydrogen content on transport properties and thermally induced metastability of LPCVD a-Si are reported. The thermally induced metastability has been observed in both unhydrogenated and hydrogenated P-doped a-Si films. Metastability is a barrier for wide application of a-Si such solar cells. In this paper we report our studies on the effect of thermally induced metastability in LPCVD a-Si as a function of implanted boron and phosphorous concentration. We have investigated films unhydrogenated and hydrogenated by ion implantation. The results are qualitatively agreed with bond breaking model.

Opis:
Adenylation domain (A domain) is a model of non-ribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPs), responsible for binding and activating the substrates-amino acids. In this study, a pGEX-2T-sare0718 recombinant plasmid (the gene sare0718 was cloned from Salinispora arenicola CNS-205, S.arenicola CNS-205) was transformed and expressed as a protein GST-Sare0718. Fluorescence quenching (FQ) was conducted to investigate the binding of 20 common amino acids to GST-Sare0718, then isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) also be used[changed]. The results of FQ revealed that intrinsic fluorescence of GST-Sare0718 is quenched steadily by addition of aspartic acid (Asp) and glutamine (Gln) through static quenching mechanism. The binding constants Ka are Asp (1.504×106 L/mol) ≥ Gln (1.468×105 L/mol). And there is one binding site on the protein GST-Sare0718. We confirmed Asp preference of GST-Sare0718 by ITC. Therefore, Asp is the specific substrate. In addition, the experimental data indicates that the prediction system, “the specificity-conferring code”, is not suitable for marine actinomycetes. So it is urgent to set up a special predictive system for marine actinomycetes.

Opis:
The original idea of the grain coarsening inhibition by preliminary nitriding preceding the vacuum carburizing process is a useful option of FINECARB technology. The steel vacuum carbinitriding method based on the alternative dosing of the carbon carriers and nitrogen, and on the computer simulation of the layer growth under the conditions of unsteady concurrent diffusion of the nitrogen and carbon is presented in this paper. The application examples are also described.
