Opis:: In this paper,we prove a theorem which gives an equivalent formulation of summability by weighted mean methods. The result of Hardy [1] and that of Móricz and Rhoades [2] are special cases of this theorem. In this context, it is important to note that the result of Móricz and Rhoades is valid even without the assumption \(\frac{p_n}{P_n}\to0\) as \(n\to\infty\).

We prove a few characterizations of Schur matrices in \(K\). We then deduce some non-inclusion theorems modelled on the results of Agnew [1] and Fridy [3] in the classical case.

Generalized eigenvalue problem and chosen aspects in matrix perturbation theory

Opis:: Uogólniony problem wartości własnych to ważne zagadnienie w teorii metod numerycznych czy w teorii sterowania. Podejście to rozszerza standardową definicję wartości własnej na pary macierzy. W pierwszym rozdziale przedstawiono wprowadzenie do teorii ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem par regularnych, będących centralnym pojęciem tego działu matematyki. Omówiono również inne szczególne przypadki par macierzy, tj. pary standardowe i pary zdefiniowane. W celu badania perturbacji par macierzy wprowadzono definicję metryki na zbiorze uogólnionych wartości własnych. Drugi rozdział pracy poświęcony jest Twierdzeniu Bauera-Fikego, które stanowi centralny wynik w teorii perturbacji. Udowodnimy jego wersję dla jednej oraz dla par macierzy. W trzecim rozdziale zawarto wyniki poświęcone zachowaniu się zbioru wartości własnych dla perturbacji rzędu jeden. Na zakończenie pracy sformułujemy i udowodnimy wynik będący wnioskiem z zastosowania Twierdzenia Bauera-Fikego do perturbacji rzędu jeden.
Generalized eigenvalue problem plays one of the central roles in the numerical methods and control theory. This approach extendes the classic definition of an eigenvalue to the situation of matrix pairs. In the first chapter we present an introduction to the theory with focus on regular pairs, which are the basic notion for generalized eigenvalue problem. Various special kinds of matrix pairs are discussed, such as standard and definite pairs. In order to study matrix pairs' perturbations we introduce a definition of a metric on the set of generalized eigenvalues. The second chapter is devoted to Bauer-Fike theorem, which is one of the most fundamental theores in perturbation theory. The standard version of this theorem for one matrix and its generalization for matrix pairs is proved. In the third chapter we show selected results concerning matrix perturbations of order one. We finish this part of the thesis with a theorem that gives bounds for the diameter of the set of eigenvalues of a perturbed matrix. It is a corollary from Bauer-Fike theorem.

Equiangular tight frames in finite-dimensional real space

Opis:: Głównym celem pracy jest prezentacja równokątnych ramek ciasnych w skończenie wymiarowej przestrzeni rzeczywistej. Opisane zostały zależności jakie zachodzą w klasach unitarnej równoważności ramek i równokątnych ramek ciasnych. Przestawiono ograniczenie górne liczy elementów równokątnych ramek oraz warunek, jaki musi spełniać wymiar przestrzeni, aby ograniczenie to było osiągane przez rzeczywistą równokątną ramkę ciasną. Ponadto rzeczywiste równokątne ramki można przedstawić za pomocą grafów, co daje kolejne warunki opisujące te ramki. Rozważania są zakończone warunkami koniecznymi na istnienie tytułowych ramek.
The main goal of the thesis is to present equiangular tight frames in finite-dimensional real space. Firstly the focus is on characterisations of unitary equivalent tight frames and equiangular tight frames. The upper bound on the possible number of elements of equiangular frame and a condition for which this bound is met for real equiangular tight frame is shown. Moreover, equiangular frames are associated with graphs which gives additional conditions for this class of frames. At the end of the thesis necessary conditions for the existence of real equiangular tight frames are proven.
