Opis:: The stud frame of stretching station WSH 400/15 was the main subject of the researches presented in this paper. The aim of the article was the quality analysis of the stud frame during its production process. Construction and scheme of production process of stud frame was presented. Analysis of main areas which generate incompatibilities of researched element was made. Proposals of process improvement with the help of relation diagram and affinity diagram were presented.

Opis:: W pracy zaprezentowano przykłady zastosowania wybranych narzędzi zarządzania jakością w przedsiębiorstwie zajmującym się produkcją cementu. Na podstawie przeprowadzonej analizy i zastosowania diagramu Pareto-Lorenza zidentyfikowano najczęściej występujące w procesie produkcji cementu niezgodności. Analizę przyczyn powodujących powstawanie licznych niezgodności przeprowadzono na podstawie diagramu relacji i diagramu drzewa.
The paper presents selected examples of quality management tools application in a company involved in the production of cement. Based on the analysis and application of the Pareto-Lorenz diagram the most often noticed (in the production of cement) incompatibility have been identified. Analysis of the reasons causing the formation of a number of non-compliance was based on the diagram of relation and the tree diagram.

Opis:: This paper analyses the causes of fires on board merchant ships and fishing vessels. The study attempts to identify the causes of fire occurrence on board ships and to determine their interrelations using the relations diagram, also known as the interrelationship diagram or digraph. This diagram identifies relations not only between causes and effects but also between two or more causes. Elements of the diagram, which have the greatest number of directed connections from/to, are the starting points for further ship safety analysis. The relations diagram is used as a basis for planning corrective measures and actions directly increasing shipping safety at sea. Knowing the various causes of fire occurrence, it is possible to eliminate or to reduce their number in the future by revising and drawing up relevant maritime transport regulations. This, in turn, can enhance shipping safety.

Opis:: Tradycyjna sylogistyka proponuje wysnuwanie wniosku o relacji między dwoma zbiorami z dwóch przesłanek kategorycznych, z których każda stwierdza coś o relacji łączącej jeden z tych zbiorów z trzecim (którego nazwa stanowi tzw. termin średni). Od średniowiecza znana jest metoda sprawdzania poprawności formalnej sylogizmu na podstawie wnikliwej oceny jego składni, a od XIX wieku również metoda graficznego przedstawiania przesłanek na diagramie Venna dla trzech zbiorów, których wzajemne relacje stanowią temat sylogizmu. W diagramie tym pewną trudność stanowi pojawiająca się w wielu przypadkach niepusta suma obszarów. W przedstawianym artykule proponuje się nową metodę przedstawienia przesłanek sylogizmu, polegającą na prezentacji obszarów, w których mogą lub muszą według przesłanek znajdować się elementy zbiorów, i tych obszarów, które z pewnością są puste. W szczególności dla niepustej sumy obszarów proponuje się wykorzystanie relacji rotalnej między dwoma obszarami tworzącymi niepustą sumę i możliwe ujednoznacznienie tej relacji przez wskazany w przesłance pusty obszar diagramu.
Traditional syllogistics sugests inferring a result about the binary relation between sets from the two categorical premisses each of which state something about a relation between one of them to a third set (whose name is called the middle term). Since the Middle Ages it is known how to check the formal correctness of a syllogism by the detailed analysis of its syntax, and since the 19th century also how to present the premisses graphically on the Venn diagram for three sets, whose mutual binary relations consttute the subject of syllogistics. The non-empty sum of subregions is sometimes not very comfortable to deal with. In the paper a new method is described for presenting syllogisms premisses, which consists in indicating the subregions, in which the premisses say some elements may or have to be located and those subregions which are announced empty. In particular, for the non-empty sum of two regions the rhotal relation is suggested together with the possible corresponding empty region, had it been suitably indicated by one ot he premisses.
