Opis:: The paper discusses technological solutions that are used to organize communication between technical devices within the electrical substation area. Design and operation of presently used supervision and control systems are based on various communication solutions. Ever growing standards concerning the required quantity of data and their transmission rate induce a search for new solutions. The paper presents new concepts of LAN-based data exchange and an equipment that can be applied to develop SCADA systems using that technology. An example physical model of communication has been used to present a configuration of devices that form a frame of the network and remote control elements that use it.

Opis:: For imaging of the biogas process fast and long-term stable measurement methods misses for certain parts of the process. Thus, it is necessary to know the development of organic acids. These metabolites, which are generated during the bacterial degradation, are important indicators. The process is generally very confusing, not only in terms of the number of occurring bacteria and chemical compounds, but also their variabilities. For the knowledge of such changes a direct, low-wear and permanent monitoring of organic acids would be extremely useful. Upon the occurrence of a change like hyperacidity we could react quickly. There are already some proven methods. However, these methods have several disadvantages: the information gathering is logistically difficult by long journeys, by process conditions information’s are delayed and distorted, quickly worn sensors, etc. Therefore, a innovative development is presented here, which avoids all the disadvantages listed. The sensor unit has been developed in cooperation with KSI Meinberg, Logic Way Schwerin, IBZ Hohen Luckow, University of Rostock and a polish colleague. According to Raoult law a characteristic is used in principle, which is typical of some liquid and gaseous media that are touching. This means volatile substances, which for example, are also in the fermenter broth, among others organic acids, are also detectable in the gaseous phase. If in the gas phase such acids can be detected, conclusions about the acid content in the substrate broth are possible. In different experiments evaluable matches between the developments of organic acids on the one hand in the liquid phase (broth) and on the other hand, in the gaseous phase were found. These results are based on an acid sensor unit with which distant standing biogas plants can be controlled remotely. A project regarding this topic is supported by research programme ZIM. Project executing organization is AiF (Arbeitsgemeinschaft industrieller Forschungsvereinigungen “Otto von Guericke” e.V.).

Opis:: Presentation of selected structures of remote laboratory. The presented structure enables remote control through the Internet and the acquisition of measurement data. The measurement data are presented using a web interface. The final result is microcontroller measuring and control system with web server. System flexibility and ease of access to its resources allow parallel planning an experiment to multiple users simultaneously.

Opis:: This paper deals with handling abnormal situations raised on remotely controlled railway lines, in particular how to maintain an automatic operation that is a core function of such systems. Unlike conventional traffic control, in case of remotely controlled stations the operational personnel is not located on the stations, thus nobody can intervene in the railway traffic locally, if necessary. In addition, replacing staff with technical devices and automatism makes the number of potential failure modes even higher. The most critical event happens when the data connection between the control centre and the station is lost, so that the human supervision of the traffic terminates. This paper presents the human, technological and technical aspects of treating such failures and offers some potential solutions in order to maintain railway traffic and minimize disturbances.

Opis:: This paper presents an analysis of various natural and man-made disasters being angled as possibilities of usage of remote control or autonomous machines and vehicles. The certain requirements which such machines and vehicles have to meet to remove effects of natural disasters and local military conflicts or terrorist attacks are described. Proposal for remote-controlled vehicle assigned for operations in conditions hazardous to human live is presented. The value of unmanned vehicles is directly related to the applications to which it can be successfully applied. This paper will highlight applications, missions, and capabilities that have been demonstrated on the "Lewiatan " platform to date as well as future application and mission considerations. This platform – assigned for both water and land operations - is equipped with remote control, surroundings observation and visualization systems. In this paper the advantages of hydrostatic power systems as the power transmission units for unmanned vehicles have been also presented. Resolving problems with navigation of vehicles will allow expansion of it 's applications from a military point of view in the upcoming few years, to a wide range of applications in times of crisis with direct human life threat.

The article presents historical and current methods of controlling Sandvik machinery operating in underground mining. It indicates the direction of roadheaders development, with a special focus on various stages of introducing technical innovations that can be used in mining. The currently developed machines fit the idea of “Industry 4.0”, and the solutions presented in this article allow underground plants to improve safety and productivity, making the mining branch an industrial trendsetter.

Opis:: Artykuł prezentuje system zdalnego sterowania i pomiarów rozproszony w sieci Internet. System składa się z urządzeń końcowych (instalowanych w zdalnych lokalizacjach) oraz infrastruktury informatycznej (IT). Technologia wirtualizacji pozwala na wykorzystanie zaawansowanej infrastruktury przy zachowaniu niskich kosztów. Przykłady instalacji obejmują monitorowanie wymiennikowni ciepła (m.in. zdalny odczyt liczników energii), czy zdalne pomiary meteorologiczne (za pośrednictwem sieci GSM).
The paper presents a SCADA system distributed in the Internet. The system consists of endpoint devices (installed in the remote localizations) and an information technology (IT) infrastructure. The virtualization technology allows maintaining a low cost of an advanced IT infrastructure. The cost is proportional to the used computing power and each user does not require an individual, professional server. Moreover, the devices communicate with the server only to exchange recently acquired data and control commands. All data storage is done by a virtual server. Thus, the cost of data transfer in case of the GSM devices is very low (data is transported to the server once, and there is no additional data access cost). Moreover, the server provides flexible interfaces for integration with other SCADA and IT systems. The endpoint devices are very simple (no advanced data processing), which results in low fixed costs of installation. Data exchange between the devices and the virtual server is secured. Example installations cover monitoring of a heat power exchange station (along with reading of remote M-bus energy meters) or a meteo station. The system architecture is shown in Fig. 4.

Opis:: The need for remote control of a television is uniform, expressed mainly in the ability to change TV channels, TV settings or use the functions built into the TV set. Remote controls have changed over time to meet users' expectations. The latest technologies make it possible to customize remote controls and configure them according to the user's needs. For the average per-son not well familiar with technology and applications, choosing the right one for a particular brand of TV is not the easiest thing to do, as the amount available is overwhelming the Google offer. The aim of the study is to analyze, compare and identify the most functional application for controlling modern TV sets based on classic Smart TV and Android TV software. The analysis covers applications available on the Google platform, i.e. the Play Store.

Opis:: Remote patient monitoring (telemonitoring) has the potential to bring about reductions in the costs associated with caring for patients equipped with cardio-active implants. Partial replacement of classic very resource absorbance follow ups of the devices held in specialized clinics will reduce costs for patients and the healthcare system. Using BIOTRONIK Home Monitoring ® system can easily detect early changes in the patient's condition associated with atrial arrhythmias, or heart failure and technical problems as compared to the conventional model of periodic visits to the clinic. This ability to early detection may significantly reduce the incidence of atrial arrhythmias and heart failure and related hospitalizations, which translates into significant cost savings.
