Social responsibility is a multidimensional construct which manifests itself in many areas of human life – in both the private and professional spheres. In business, people’s individual attitudes are often the starting point for organizational activities. Even the most ethical business behavior, if not matched by changes on the part of individuals, will not create a change on a larger scale. Thus, personal social responsibility can be defined as a key element of corporate social responsibility (CSR), because the implementation of this idea in business depends on the behavior of the individuals working in the company. The main purpose of the article is to investigate published knowledge concerning the concept of personal or individual social responsibility (PSR or ISR) and the personal or individual social responsibility scale. The authors made a systematic literature review, analyzing full-text scholarly articles published between 2000 and 2021. International databases and journal libraries – EBSCO, JSTOR, Mendeley, Wiley Online Library, Web of Science, and Scopus – were searched using the logical phrases “personal social responsibility,” “individual social responsibility,” “personal social responsibility scale,” and “individual social responsibility scale.” The analysis shows that the concept of individual/personal social responsibility is considered in the literature in various contexts, though few works are available on this concept and even fewer describe its indicators. Using keywords relevant to the area, 14 publications were selected for analysis. This leads to the conclusion that there is a research gap in this area, which the authors intend to fill in the course of further research.

Opis:
In the article, responsibility is treated as a basic category of education and a special individual and social value. Attention is paid to the nature of learning responsibility by a pre-school child. The aim of the article is to identify individual and social determinants of constructing a category of responsibility by a child. Their expressions visible in language, emotions and behavior are treated as carriers of the meanings of specific content. They point to certain situations in the child's life that are conducive to learning responsibility. This makes it easier to recognize what is a responsibility from the child’s point of view and how children experience responsibility in everyday life. The basis for the analyzes are the theoretical references concerning the sources of responsibility, while the direction and scope is determined by the analysis of the content of the category of responsibility.

The article presents various links between business and ethics. The idea of responsibility, used to describe legal, economic and ethical aspects, forms the main, unifying thread. The author employs it to analyze three spheres of human activity. The first sphere, the subjective one, concerns self-responsibility, when individuals are striving to satisfy their own needs and to achieve happiness. The second, the encounter with the Other, embraces two meanings: responsibility for and towards the Other. The third sphere, the social one, extends the idea of responsibility onto the historical community we belong to. The concept of co-responsibility is not confined to our life span, but it embraces the future generations as well. The author pinpoints an important element in creating the foundations of a given community, i.e., regulations that form its basis, especially the principle of justice, encompassing the distribution of goods. Many contemporary authors underline this ethical, political and economic aspect (Rawls, communitarians, Ricoeur, Habermas). The main thesis the author would like to substantiate is as follows: in business activities, the ethical conduct of an individual is not sufficient. It needs to be broadened to encompass other perspectives since contemporary societies are based on the multidimensional idea of co-responsibility.

W związku z tym, że w filozofii współczesnej fenomen odpowiedzialności nabiera coraz istotniejszego znaczenia, autorka postanowiła przyjrzeć się jego rozumieniu w kontekście myśli liberalnej i komunitariańskiej. Artykuł jest zatem próbą porównania fenomenu odpowiedzialności w ujęciu liberałów oraz komunitarian. Zawarte w tekście rozważania prowadzą autorkę do wniosku, iż oba te stanowiska odmiennie postrzegają fenomen odpowiedzialności; liberalizm, koncentrując się nieomal wyłącznie na jego jednostkowym rozumieniu, podczas kiedy w ramach myśli komunitariańskiej otwiera się przestrzeń do jego rozumienia w ujęciu wspólnotowym.
Due to the fact that in contemporary philosophy phenomenon of responsibility is becoming more significant meaning the author decided to look at its meaning in the context of liberal thought and comunitarin. The article is thus an attempt to compare the phenomenon of responsibility in terms of the liberals and communitarians. Included in the text the author considerations lead to the conclusion that both these positions differently perceive the phenomenon of responsibility, liberalism focusing almost exclusively about his understanding of the individual, while in the framework of comunitarian’s thought opens up space for its understanding in terms of the community.

Społeczna odpowiedzialność biznesu odgrywa coraz większą rolę w sektorze bankowym, wpływając na funkcjonowanie i reputację instytucji finansowych. Celem niniejszej pracy jest porównanie działań dotyczących społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu trzech wybranych banków: BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A., mBanku S.A. oraz Banku Ochrony Środowiska S.A., a także odpowiedź na pytanie czy ich aktywność jest zróżnicowana w zależności od głoszonych przez nie wartości i ich charakterystyki rynkowej. W pracy przedstawiono informacje dotyczące znaczenia, historii i różnych metod realizacji społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu oraz roli i zadań banków w gospodarce, a także celowości wprowadzania działań z zakresu społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu do ich strategii. Metodą badawczą było porównanie raportów omawianych banków dotyczących roku 2021, skupiających się na ich zaangażowaniu w inicjatywy dotyczące społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu. Wyniki analizy wskazują na jej realizację przez wszystkie trzy badane banki, a także, że zaangażowanie tych instytucji finansowych w projekty o charakterze społecznym, gospodarczym i środowiskowym jest w dużym stopniu zbieżne. Aktywność banków w przedmiotowym zakresie wyraźnie podkreśla istotne znaczenie społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu w sektorze bankowym.
The role of corporate social responsibility in the banking sector is increasingly growing, impacting the functioning and reputation of financial institutions. The aim of this study is to compare the actions related to corporate social responsibility of three selected banks: BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A., mBank S.A., and Bank Ochrony Środowiska S.A., and to answer whether their activities vary depending on their proclaimed values and market characteristics. The paper presents information on the significance, history, and various methods of implementing corporate social responsibility, as well as the role and tasks of banks in the economy, and the relevance of integrating corporate social responsibility activities into their strategies. The research method involved comparing reports of the mentioned banks for the year 2021, focusing on their engagement in initiatives related to corporate social responsibility. The results of the analysis indicate that all three examined banks fulfill corporate social responsibility. Furthermore, the involvement of these financial institutions in social, economic, and environmental projects is largely aligned. The banks' activity in this area clearly underscores the significant importance of corporate social responsibility in the banking sector.

The paper discusses the relationship of the global responsibility crisis with values. The author shows that the source of this crisis is the loss of perspective defined by universal values. She uses the European concept of creativity and the Chinese concept of crisis /wej-dżi/ to show the ethical dimension of the crisis. She draws attention to the usefulness of the crisis for creative crossing the limits of what is possible as set by the current situation.
W artykule omówiono związek kryzysu globalnej odpowiedzialności z wartościami. Autorka pokazuje, że źródłem tego kryzysu jest utrata perspektywy określonej przez uniwersalne wartości. Korzystając przy tym z europejskiego pojęcia twórczości i z chińskiego pojęcia kryzysu wej-dżi, odsłania etyczny wymiar kryzysu. Zwraca uwagę na przydatność kryzysu do twórczego przekraczania granic możliwości wyznaczonych przez aktualną sytuację.

Responsibility is a “core issue” in philosophy of law. “Responsibility” in a legal discourse refers primarily to formal sanctions or it expresses an idea of having to answer for something. I argue in the study that the legal responsibility can be attached to social roles (or even tasks), which are important to the functioning of the society. I try to elucidate the notions of a role (social role) and role-responsibility. This analysis leads to the conclusion that the role responsibility (the notion of the role-responsibility is derived from the Herbert Hart’s philosophical works) is largely constituted by inter-connected sets of rights, duties and responsibilities. Moreover, the role responsibility plays an important role in the law.
