Opis:
Exploitation of oil and gas deposits is often associated with a negative impact on the environment. This impact may be associated with the the activities on drilling rig, mine as well as situations in which there is a leakage or an eruption of a dangerous substance. The main sources of gaseous and particulate pollutants include the engines of drilling equipment and machines, boilers and transport used in the course of drilling, as well as the exploitation of the deposit. The risk of emissions of hazardous gases such as methane and hydrogen sulphide concentrations into the atmosphere occurs at the time of the eruption or leakage from the pipeline. The paper presents an attempt to assess the impact of the technical work related to the exploitation of “V” gas deposit on the atmosphere including a variant in which there was a rapid leakage of the gas system. It discusses the type of pollutants emitted into the environment, and estimates the amount of emissions related to the equipment on the deposit (boilers, engines). The authors performed modelling of selected exhausted gases from the boiler spread into the air. The authors also performed simulations of the spread of hydrogen sulphide and natural gas, which leaked into the atmosphere by the eruption due to pipeline damage. Modelling was performed based on hazard modelling software ALOHA (Areal Locations of Hazardous Atmospheres) created by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The modelling made possible to determine the impact of air pollution zones and zones of dangers caused by hydrogen sulphide. It so allowed to nominate the evacuation zones in case of an emergency situation.

Opis:
This article presents results of the experimental measurements of the cavitation phenomena in a Venturi tube with water as the working medium. Three variants of such tube were tested. Angles of converging and diverging sections are equal to 45o and 45o, 30o and 60o, 45o and 60o, respectively. In every case the throat diameter is equal to 3 mm and the throat length to 6 mm. The average flow velocity ranges from 0.1 to 0.5 m/s. During measurements, the average flow velocity, upstream and downstream pressure and water temperature were recorded. Additionally, by the use of a high-speed camera and a simple digital camera, information about the size and the shape of the bubble clouds for different flow conditions was collected. The aim of the article is data acquisition for the further numerical analyses. The experimental runs executed for this paper are to help provide more information about this type of flow, since numerical modeling of the cavitation phenomena in Venturi tubes is still very difficult and in many cases even quantitative agreement is impossible to obtain.

Opis:
In Poland the perspective shale gas formations concentrate in the area of the Baltic Basin, Podlasie Depression and Lublin Basin. Their depth varies from slightly above 2,000 to 4,500 m, depending on the location. Accordingly, novel rigs of high hoisting capacity and installed power capacity of master motors have to be used for opening natural gas deposits with the use of directional wells. The operation of such systems creates an acoustic hazard for the environment, especially in the close vicinity to the rig. The results of noise analyses of a prospecting well for hydrocarbons from unconventional sources in the north of Poland performed with the use of a rig MASS 6000E are presentedin this paper. The noise analyses concentrated on the rig area among the direct noise sources and the neighborhood to show the influence of drilling operations on the acoustic environment. The obtained results revealed that the noise emission in the rig area can be limited by optimizing the localization and placement of particular objects and systems within the rig site. This also applies to the placement of the noise barriers on the border of the rig to limit the noise emission towards objects requiring protection.

Opis:
The article presents the structure of the battery drive of a self-propelled mining vehicle on the example of a drilling rig, used in the room-pillar system of copper ore exploitation. Such solutions, due to the ore mining in increasingly difficult operating conditions, are becoming more and more popular in the world. The main assumptions required for the synthesis of this type of drive were indicated, as well as the adopted structure of such a solution was described. The selection of the appropriate drive structure determines the final work characteristics of the self-propelled mining vehicle, and thus the actual suitability of such a machine for use in mining conditions. The paper also details the main technological advantages of this type of drive over classic internal combustion drives.

Opis:
Pipe conveyors represent a continuous transport system that is difficult to obtain real operating data from in terms of operational characteristics’ research. That is why the research of these conveyors is mainly supported with the data from special, static testing rigs. However, the measurements do not provide corresponding operating results and can differ from actual operating conditions. That is why, a dynamic testing rig was designed for the research which also represents the smallest pipe conveyor worldwide. The article describes options of conveyor belts and pipe belt conveyor components examination with the use of static and dynamic testing rig, and researches a new design and implementation of a dynamic testing rig - the smallest fully functional pipe belt conveyor in the world with a length of 11 m and belt width of 0.6 m. The said testing device can provide data obtained during dynamic operation of the pipe conveyor, which compared with a static rig increases the accuracy and value of obtained data and results.

Opis:
The article presents the assumptions and main functionalities of two operator support systems - the FGS (Feeder Guiding System) and the remote control system of a drilling or bolting rig. Both of these systems greatly facilitate the work of an operator of a self-propelled mining vehicle in the conditions of an underground metal ore mine. The first of the described system allows for real-time control of the current position of the mining boom and facilitates the drilling of blast holes according to a predetermined drilling pattern. The second of the systems - a remote control system - is used especially in conditions of unstable rock mass or in the case of work in particularly difficult operating conditions, where it is advisable to limit the presence of the crew from the face-up to the necessary minimum. The intensity of these vibrations was related to the conditions of the cutting process.

Opis:
Prospecting and production of natural gas from unconventional gas fields is performed through regular diameter, multi-bottom wells a few hundred to a few thousand meters deep. Due to their character, drilling such wells creates a potential threat for all environmental elements. The degree of potential environmental impact depends on numerous factors, the most important of which include: location of a rig, level of urbanization of an area, sensitivity of environment to pollution, as well as type and scope of operations stimulating flux of hydrocarbons to the wells. Drilling natural gas prospecting and production wells involves a number of technological operations which generate significant noise emission, air pollution with exhaust gas from driving engines and significant quantities of waste, especially waste from matrix acidizing and fracturing. The paper presents results of analyses of noise emission and air pollution generated by drilling machines selected for drilling deep prospecting and exploitation wells. The investigations were focused on rigs Skytop TR-800, National 110 UE and IRI-750/Cabot, which differ in technical and technological parameters. The obtained results confirmed differences in environmental impact of individual types of rigs. The differences appeared related to distinct directional acoustic characteristics, oscillating noise level and magnitude of air pollution emissions. Figs. 1 and 2 show distribution of noise level A in proximity of rig IRI-750/Cabot and Skytop TR-800 during hoisting operations, and Fig. 3 - exemplary distributions of NO2 and H2S concentration in air near the rig during drilling operations. Types and quantities of waste generated in drilling natural gas wells to the depth of 3000 m and accompanying hydraulic fracturing of rocks, are also presented in the paper.
