Opis:: The purpose of the paper is to highlight the risk of child disability in the period between birth and commencement of primary education. The first part of the paper analyses differences in defining the target group of early development support and intervention, a distinction is made between disability and the risk of disability. The paper describes selected concepts of early developmental support and traditional psychological concepts regarding human development. The second part of the paper presents concepts of speech and language disorders in children. The paper discusses the dependence between linguistic competencies and global development of a child and the problem of early development diagnosis and evaluation of cognitive functions, listing the methods and tools used to examine young children.

Opis:: The long-awaited handbook by the special pedagogy educators issued by the Committee on Terminology and Classi cation of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (Schalock et al, 2010) appeared nally in 2010. This article discusses the way of understanding the prevention of intellectual disability represented in the aforementioned handbook which is an expression of the position of the AAIDD. The analysis embraces these forms of intellectual disability for which the reference point is the early interpersonal interaction between the parent/guardian and the child at intellectual disability risk or the child with intellectual disability. These are simultaneously understood by the AAIDD as forms of support for parents and/or guardians of a child threatened with intellectual disability or a child with intellectual disability. The article concludes with ndings drawn from the presented material.

Opis:: The article is the forth one prepared by our team in the series of research on life quality and occupational activity among people with ability limitations („Nauka” 1/2008, „Nauka” 2/2008, „Nauka” 3/2008). The aim of the presented analysis was to create the complex model of determinants for occupational activities of people with disabilities that takes into account the broadest possible look-out. That is why we used the variables from all the fields analyzed in the previous papers in this series i.e. (1) SES; (2) characteristics of disabilities (the type, the degree, the age of acquiring disability); (3) upbringing characteristics in childhood; (4) social network; (5) personal capacities. In order to discover the significant determinants of occupational activities and quality of life among people with different disabilities – which could be both risk and success factors – we have divided the subjects into four groups according to two variables: (1) occupationally active or inactive patients and (2) patients satisfied/dissatisfied with their own income.The group with the largest observed number of risk factors has consisted of the subjects that have been inactive (non-looking for a job) and unsatisfied with their own income. Gender, city size, education, received support, social relations, disability characteristics, upbringing characteristics and personality traits have turned out to be significant risk/success factors. Moreover the results show that in different groups of people with disabilities we find different settings of risk and success factors.

Opis:: The article discusses the problem of sexual violence towards people with intellectual disabilities. It presents the definition and occurrence of this phenomenon by taking into account the difficulties in estimating the scale of sexual violence towards people with intellectual disabilities. Risk factors for sexual violence that are typical of the general population and people with intellectual disability are analyzed. People with intellectual disabilities are characterized as victims of sexual abuse. This article also deals with the consequences of experiencing sexual violence for the development ofpeople with intellectual disabilities.

Opis:: The basis for the legislator's action is to create the legal basis for a specific right or obligation. An unusual act of law is a law that sanctions an existing practice and at the same time modifies the existing concept of the risk of old age, regulating the benefit for reaching 100 years of age. It createsblegal certainty, defines the premises of the right to the benefit and its amount, and the manner of proceeding. The mechanism for granting the old‑age benefit, which had been non‑statutory so far, has been replaced by a legal regulation, which, however, is not exhaustive and precise. The article discusses the legal constructions introduced by the new legislation and indicates the areas that require clarification.

Opis:: In the work "Disability pension", it is described how the disability pension functions in the social insurance system. All the most important aspects of it, such as the rules for receiving, contributions, required documents and concepts necessary to understand what it is are presented. The disability pension is a tool that protects employees against the effects of random accidents. It allows employees to work calmly, without the pressure that if something unexpected happens, they will be left without livelihood. It seems to be an indispensable element of a prospering state that should support its most needy citizens in a difficult situation.It is material assistance, legally regulated by:- Act on the social insurance system,- The act on pensions and disability pensions from the Social Insurance Fund.Inability to work is adjudicated for a period not longer than 5 years, in special cases a longer period of the pension is adjudicated, we are talking here about cases which, from a medical point of view, are not able to regain fitness before the expiry of 5 years.In the event of incomplete work incapacity, it is possible to apply for a training pension. This pension is granted for the purpose of professional retraining due to incapacity to work in the current profession. It is granted for a period of 6 months and may be extended to a maximum of 30 months.Of course, the length of service entitling to acquiring the relevant pension is also important, ie the contributory and non-contributory period that is required to receive the pension. However, these guidelines do not apply if the insured person has become unable to work due to an accident on the way to work or from work.Undoubtedly, the disability pension is a security for every employee who, at any time, may find himself in a random situation that prevents him from continuing work or impeding his continuation in a given profession or position.
W pracy „Renta z tytułu niezdolności do pracy”, zostało opisane w jaki sposób funkcjonuje renta w systemie ubezpieczeń społecznych. Przedstawione zostały wszystkie najważniejsze jej aspekty, takie jak zasady otrzymywania, składki, wymagane dokumenty oraz pojęcia niezbędne do zrozumienia czym jest. Renta z tytułu niezdolności do pracy to narzędzie, które niejako zabezpiecza pracowników przed skutkami wypadków losowych. Pozwala pracownikom na spokojną pracę, bez presji, że gdyby wydarzyło się coś niespodziewanego zostaną bez środków do życia. Wydaje się być niezbędnym elementem dobrze prosperującego państwa, które powinno wspierać swoich najbardziej potrzebujących obywateli w trudnej sytuacji.Jest to pomoc materialna, uregulowana prawnie przez:- Ustawę o systemie ubezpieczeń społecznych,- Ustawę o emeryturach i rentach z Funduszu Ubezpieczeń Społecznych.Niezdolność do pracy orzekana jest na czas nie dłuższy niż 5 lat, w szczególnych wypadkach orzekany jest dłuższy czas renty, mowa tutaj o przypadkach, które z medycznego punktu nie mają możliwości odzyskania sprawności przed upływem 5 lat.W przypadku niepełnej niezdolności do pracy, możliwe jest ubieganie się o rentę szkoleniową. Renta ta przyznawana jest celem przekwalifikowania zawodowego ze względu na niezdolność do pracy w dotychczasowym zawodzie. Przyznawana na okres 6 miesięcy, maksymalnie może zostać przedłużona do 30 miesięcy.Oczywiście ważny jest również staż uprawniający do nabycia odpowiedniej renty, tj. okres składkowy i nieskładkowy, który jest wymagany do otrzymania renty. Jednak te wytyczne nie mają zastosowania, jeżeli ubezpieczony stał się niezdolny do pracy z powodu skutku wypadku w drodze do pracy jak również z pracy.Niewątpliwie renta z tytułu niezdolności do pracy jest zabezpieczeniem dla każdego pracownika, który w każdym momencie może znaleźć się w losowej sytuacji uniemożliwiającej kontynuowanie pracy lub utrudniającej jej kontynuację w danym zawodzie bądź stanowisku.
