Opis:: This paper discusses agency, regulatory capture, counterparty and political risks as aspects of the nonmarket financial risks that pension plans and their participants bear, using as examples the United States and Poland. The intent of the paper is to expand beyond financial market risks the discussion of financial risks that pension plans and participants bear in funded pension systems. Thus, this paper fits into the broader discussion of the relative merits of funded and unfunded pensions. The paper also relates to analysis of the increasingly complex environment in which pension plans operate.

Opis:: In article the technique of an assessment of personnel risks is developed at a choice of optimum version of the administrative decision. The analysis of alternatives in the course of decision-making assumes serial consideration of all candidates solution with determination of advantages and shortcomings of each option by all possible criteria, including on a factor of personnel risks. Following the results of an assessment the card of risks is formed, and the assessment of an acceptability of alternative is defined as average weighed by each stage of realization of alternative where as weight information evaluation test is accepted.

Opis:: An effective solution to security problems those small and global ones demands certain knowledge and skills from managers and executives of different ranks. In this regard, we have allocated a special class of the risks associated with decision-making at various levels ranging from everyday to global. These risks are referred to as “the risks of incompetence.” At the heart of these risks are, in particular, lack of knowledge, specialization, poor mental preparation. “Risks of deviance” were regarded as “risks of incompetence”, but now they are ring-fenced in a separate group. Risks of deviance - risks which are based on anti-social mentality, aggression, intolerance, racism, and so on. In the article the above mentioned types of risk are discussed. Definitions of risks of deviance and incompetence are formulated. Their characteristics and examples of them are provided. A special group of risks associated with a level of social development is highlighted.

Opis:: The global spread of the SARS COV-2 virus and the related Coronavirus Disease-19 (Covid-19) has forced the entire planet to suddenly adopt important safety standards and reorganize social reality. The present research investigates the perception of psychological, relational, and pedagogical risks and needs in the developmental age (3-18 years) by the parents of different Italian regions during the quarantine period. Specifically, we examined the opinions of parents regarding the rules of social distancing and the continuous and massive use of new technologies for distance learning (DL). The results showed that Italian parents have two main concerns: on the one hand, the emergency in terms of health and health-related aspects; on the other, the teaching, training, and educational trajectories of children. They manifested mistrust and scepticism towards institutions and the school world, in terms of both management competence and structural and infrastructural capacity; aspects perceived as concerns also for Phase 2 and 3 of the epidemic curve.

Opis:: This contribution deals with the system of financial and economic relations, which is evolving due to supervision of digital financial products and services (DFSP). The article presents an overview of the most relevant DFPS and supervisory tools and practices. The contribution aims at analysing an available supervisory toolbox used in different countries. In order to achieve the aim, such methods as logical, systematic functional and situational analysis, as well as grouping and monographic methods, were employed. Digitalisation may boost competition, efficiency and profitability of banking sector and bring benefits to financial entities and customers. Nevertheless, it also carries certain risks posing major challenges to supervisory authorities. They have to find a balance between securing financial stability, protecting customers and fostering innovation.

Opis:: W pracy przedstawiono ekologiczne i zdrowotne aspekty użytkowania, zagospodarowania i unieszkodliwiania wełny mineralnej. Dzięki strukturze włóknistej, produkty z wełny mineralnej posiadają wiele unikalnych właściwości pozwalających na ich wszechstronne zastosowanie. Przy wszystkich zaletach, wełna mineralna ma jednak jedną bardzo istotną wadę – nie ulega rozkładowi. Z punktu widzenia spowalniania (retardacji) przekształcania zasobów środowiska, wprowadzenie wełny mineralnej do upraw pod szkłem, w bardzo dużym stopniu ograniczyło wykorzystanie torfowisk, które ze względów przyrodniczych, są zasobami niezmiernie istotnymi. Z drugiej jednak strony, problemy z racjonalnym wykorzystaniem poużytkowej już wełny mineralnej spowodowały m. in. powstawanie „dzikich wysypisk” i tym samym przekształcanie krajobrazu oraz, ze względu na swe cechy (włókna respirabilne), zagrożenie dla zdrowia. Produkcja wyrobów z włókien mineralnych może powodować konsekwencje ekologiczne w obrębie prawie wszystkich elementów środowiska. Do całościowej oceny wpływu wełny mineralnej na środowisko należy zastosować tzw. „ocenę cyklu życia produktu”– LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), powszechnie nazywaną “od kołyski, do grobu” - czyli od momentu wydobycia surowców do produkcji, poprzez przetworzenie, eksploatację, aż do składowania odpadu. Odpowiedzialność za ponowne zagospodarowanie poprodukcyjnej wełny mineralnej powinna spoczywać na producencie wełny.
In this study presents the environmental aspects of the use, management and disposal of mineral wool. Fiber structure makes that wool products have many unique properties enabling them to be versatile. With all the advantages of mineral wool is one very significant drawback - does not decompose. From the point of view of slowing (retardation) transformation of environmental resources, the introduction of mineral wool to crops under glass, in a very much reduced use of peatlands, which for reasons of natural resources are extremely important. On the other hand, problems of rational use of mineral wool already postconsumer caused among others formation of "wild dumps" and thus transforming the landscape, and, due to their characteristics (respirablefibers),the risk to health. Manufacture of asbestiform can cause ecological consequences within almost all elements of the environment. Therefore, the overall assessment of the impact in this case, mineral wool on the environment would need to be so. "Life cycle assessment" - called the method of LCA (Life Cycle Assessment)which is commonly called the "cradle to grave" - that is, from extraction of raw materials, through processing, exploitation, to the storage of waste. Therefore, the responsibilityfor the redevelopment of the post-production of mineral wool should lie with the producer of wool. These issues are the subject of discussion in this study.

Opis:: Background: This study aims to shed light on risk-mitigating tools and strategies that can be used in third-party logistics (3PL) companies to increase performance. Risk and risk management tools are identified and classified according to the managers’ feedback and the theoretical background. The most important risks for the road transportation industry are analyzed, their implications are discussed, and mitigating strategies are offered. Methodology: The study used purposive sampling from international road freight forwarders that were members of the Association of International Forwarding and Logistics Service Providers (UTIKAD) or International Transporters' Association (UND). The data were collected by questionnaire method and analyzed with SPSS 22 and AMOS programs. Results: The results show that the road transportation industry has important risks that managers have not effectively managed. According to the results, the main problems in 3PL companies are lack of coordination, lack of visibility, and poor service quality. The results support that delivery risk directly affects transportation quality and process risks. Originality In this study, transportation-related risks are analyzed, showing their impact on a company’s overall processes. Additionally, we examine whether the transportation quality creates a mediation effect or information sharing has a moderation effect on a company’s process risks. Few studies exist on transportation risks and the role of mitigating strategies in reducing these risks, and this is also a limitation of our research from the risk perspective.

Opis:: Ionizing radiation derived from radon isotopes and their derivatives is responsible for approx. 40% of the annual dose that every human being takes from all sources of radiation. These are alpha-emitting isotopes, which is important in terms of human health harms. In the article, the sources of radioactive radon entering the air in residential rooms are presented. It also shows the mechanism of forming its derivatives and their impact on human health. Moreover, it provides a list of diseases which these substances can trigger or stimulate and enumerates their medical, beneficial uses. In order to differentiate between positive and negative effects of radon on human body, the article brings together recommendations of international organizations and Polish legal norms.
Promieniowanie jonizujące pochodzące od izotopów radonu i ich pochodnych jest odpowiedzialne za ok. 40% dawki rocznej, jaką przyjmuje człowiek ze wszystkich źródeł promieniowania. Są to izotopy alfa-promieniotwórcze, co ma istotne znaczenie w aspekcie szkodliwości dla zdrowia człowieka. W artykule oprócz źródeł przedostawania się radioaktywnego radonu do powietrza w pomieszczeniach, przedstawiono mechanizm powstawania jego pochodnych i sposób oddziaływania tych substancji na zdrowie ludzi. Wymieniono schorzenia, do powstawania i rozwoju których przyczyniają się omawiane substancje oraz przedstawiono przykłady leczniczego ich zastosowania. Aby rozgraniczyć pozytywny i negatywny wpływ radonu na organizm człowieka podano zalecenia organizacji międzynarodowych i normatywy prawne obowiązujące w Polsce i na świecie.
