Opis:
Process of ensuring the security of citizens, objects and material goods requires access to the information from sensors located in diff erent points of monitoring and data acquisition systems. Th ey are a widely used in administration of carfleet or the visualization of selected functions of transport processes. However, transmission of data from multiple video sensors may lead to the degradation of video quality and even to lack of identification capabilities. As a result, the overall service reliability can be decreased. The process of the system exploitation can determine the reliability of the video monitoring services as well. This process includes the technical object (hardware and soft ware) and the man (operator) who exploits the system under certain environmental conditions (external and internal) and represents so called antropo-technical approach in which the operating requirements are taken into consideration (particularly related to reliability). The paper presents components elaborated for maintenance of reliable video monitoring services as well as the results of selected tests showing its efficiency. Proposition of comprehensive metrics for assessing the reliability of exploitation of video monitoring system, which takes into account antropo-technical approach is presented as well.

Opis:
Public transportation is often disrupted by disturbances, such as the uncertain travel time caused by road congestion. Therefore, the operators need to take real-time measures to guarantee the service reliability of transit networks. In this paper, we investigate a dynamic scheduling problem in a transit network, which takes account of the impact of disturbances on bus services. The objective is to minimize the total travel time of passengers in the transit network. A two-layer control method is developed to solve the proposed problem based on a hybrid control strategy. Specifically, relying on conventional strategies (e.g., holding, stop-skipping), the hybrid control strategy makes full use of the idle standby buses at the depot. Standby buses can be dispatched to bus fleets to provide temporary or regular services. Besides, deep reinforcement learning (DRL) is adopted to solve the problem of continuous decision-making. A long short-term memory (LSTM) method is added to the DRL framework to predict the passenger demand in the future, which enables the current decision to adapt to disturbances. The numerical results indicate that the hybrid control strategy can reduce the average headway of the bus fleet and improve the reliability of bus service.

Opis:
This paper proposes a reliability-based economic model predictive control (MPC) strategy for the management of generalized flow-based networks, integrating some ideas on network service reliability, dynamic safety stock planning, and degradation of equipment health. The proposed strategy is based on a single-layer economic optimisation problem with dynamic constraints, which includes two enhancements with respect to existing approaches. The first enhancement considers chance-constraint programming to compute an optimal inventory replenishment policy based on a desired risk acceptability level, leading to dynamical allocation of safety stocks in flow-based networks to satisfy non-stationary flow demands. The second enhancement computes a smart distribution of the control effort and maximises actuators’ availability by estimating their degradation and reliability. The proposed approach is illustrated with an application of water transport networks using the Barcelona network as the case study considered.

Opis:
The main idea of the current research is to apply customer satisfaction level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for supply chain reliability improvement. The Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model-based KPI metrics increase the quality of product/service by monitoring, visualising, and digitalising directly involved processes. In the long run, the solution will ultimately help reduce/eliminate the number of customer reclamations in the supply chain. An industry-oriented performance measurement model based on SCOR can be easily adapted for different sectors. The approach proposed in the current research is based on identifying key factors of supply chain performance of the SCOR model connected with the predictive and diagnostic capability of Bayesian Believe Networks. The difference in performance can be reached via applying the best practices to processes, affecting the performance on a larger scale.

Opis:
This paper presents a way of determining distribution of limit state exceedence time by a diagnostic parameter which determines accuracy of maintaining zero state. For calculations it was assumed that the diagnostic parameter is deviation from nominal value (zero state). Change of deviation value occurs as a result of destructive processes which occur during service. For estimation of deviation increasing rate in probabilistic sense, was used a difference equation from which, after transformation, Fokker-Planck differential equation was obtained [4, 11]. A particular solution of the equation is deviation increasing rate density function which was used for determining exceedance probability of limit state. The so-determined probability was then used to determine density function of limit state exceedance time, by increasing deviation. Having at disposal the density function of limit state exceedance time one determined service life of a system of maladjustment. In the end, a numerical example based on operational data of selected aircraft [weapon] sights was presented. The elaborated method can be also applied to determining residual life of shipboard devices whose technical state is determined on the basis of analysis of values of diagnostic parameters.

Przedstawiono działania w obszarze utrzymania gotowości technicznej pojazdów rolniczych. Zaprezentowano czynniki wewnętrzne i zewnętrzne występujące w procesie eksploatacji ciągnika. Omówiono charakterystyki przeglądów przed sprzedażą (P0) oraz przeglądów gwarancyjnych (PG) i pogwarancyjnych (PP). Analiza obejmowała rozkłady ilości usług serwisowych w latach 2003-2008. Przeglądy realizowane były w Dziale Serwisu przedsiębiorstwa handlowo - usługowego prowadzącego autoryzowaną dystrybucję ciągników i maszyn rolniczych. Wyniki badań opracowano metodą statystyczną wyznaczając wartość indeksów sezonowych dla badanego okresu. Usługi serwisowe (P0) i (PG-PP) poddano ocenie w odniesieniu do kalendarza zabiegów agrotechnicznych.
Practices in the area of maintaining technical efficiency of farm vehicles have been presented. The internal and external factors occurring in the process of tractor operation have been examined. The characteristics of pre-sale inspections (P0) as well as guarantee inspections (PG) and post-guarantee inspections (PP) have been discussed. The analysis includes the distributions of the number of maintenance inspection services in the years 2003-2008.The inspections were carried out in the Service Department of a trade and service enterprise which is an authorised distributor of tractors and farm machines. The results of the survey have been prepared with the use of statistical methods, determining the value of seasonal indices for the studied period. The maintenance services (P0 and PG-PP) have been assessed in relation to the calendar of agrotechnical operations.

Opis:
We investigate a novel maintenance service contract model. The service provider of the machine must determine the optimal pricing structure and staffing levels, while the client selects an appropriate plan for the warranty duration. We consider linear, quadratic, polynomial, and exponential pricing functions for three types of warranties. By building a service model with a non-cooperative game, we obtain the Nash equilibrium of the bargaining solution. Numerical analysis reveals that the optimal warranty period decreases monotonically with service provider revenue and increases monotonically with the maximum prospective service time. Additionally, the market size does not affect the ideal warranty duration when the machine’s lifetime is constant.

The paper is aimed to investigate the reliability metrics of a multi-unit fault-tolerant control (FTC) system wherein the units are subject to failure and those are repairable by two heterogeneous servers. Server 1 remains permanently available for essential service of failed units, whereas server 2 goes on vacation and renders service based on the N-policy threshold, which may also provide optional and essential services. Server 1 may break down at a steady rate during its servicing period but immediately gets repaired and resume servicing the failed units. When the working unit fails, the available warm standby unit holds responsibility for the smooth operation of the system. The transition of standby units to operational mode may be unsuccessful with switching failure probability. We develop a Markovian model to obtain the steady-state probabilities. We explore computational and sensitivity analysis of different performance measures for various variability of the parameters.

Opis:
The article presents new assumptions for reliability and life of machines, resulting from the development of technology. The innovative approach to reliability and life design as well as warranty duration planning is presented on an example of vehicle reliability characteristics. A new algorithm is proposed for the replacement of repairable objects costs by the price of life and reliability of new unrepairable ones. For the planning of the life of innovative machines, an effective method of technical progress rate determination is proposed. In conclusion, necessary modifications of machine and vehicle use systems, resulting from technology evolution and technical progress, are indicated. Finally, recommendations and directions of indispensable research in engineering and management of technical means of production are formulated.
