Opis:: This paper presents a personal, autoethnographic account of how a distinct theory, namely selected aspects of the extended mind theory, can give rise to novel aesthetic experiences while dancing Argentine tango. It illustrates the enhancement of an aesthetic practice that is forged by, but also transcends, the interplay between theory and practice. The report recounts how theoretical propositions regarding the distribution of agency in extended cognition, when applied to a somatic practice, can uncover novel aesthetic experiences and approaches towards the author’s own dance practice. The aesthetic experience is described as the sensation of being danced by the interactions between the dance partners and the music, which afford somatic awareness. Furthermore, the paper emphasises the often-neglected significance of a researcher’s personal inclinations towards and the practical effects of the theoretical propositions they engage with.

Opis:: Types of oncological rehabilitation and its objectives are described. It includes information on many manifestations of oncological diseases that an internist has to deal with, which are conditioned not only by the oncological process itself, but by the cancer treatment conducted, as well as the attitude of doctors and patients to cancer pathology. The specific characteristics of the “cancer disease” are described, as well as a combination of somatic disorders which depends on the ongoing or arrested tumor development. It is necessary for doctors to observe the cancer patients before, during and after treatment for complication of cancer or treatment over the life span.

Opis:: The main intention of my text is to describe the specific of the somatic turn of cultural studies and, to follow Chris Barker’s proposition, “the desire to understand the ways in which the body becomes the object of shaping and disciplining by social and cultural forces – i.e. how the body acquires meaning in contemporary culture”. The above problem provokes the consideration of the mutual relationships between the culture of late modernity and the category of identity (especially the body in the process of identity construction). The goal outlined in this way aims to present contexts and space for the manifestation of the issues of the body in contemporary culture, The aim of the proposed deliberations is to present the problem of the body from the perspective of reflexive identity (A. Giddens), constructivism perspective (Z. Melosik, A. Gromkowska, M. Bogunia-Borowska), in selected therapeutic systems (J. Kabat-Zinn, A. Lowen, S.&C. Block) and in the final section I present the category of the body in the integral approach to development (K. Wilber). Also, I shortly summarize my analysis and I point to the dangers of the presented approaches especially in the dominant instant culture practices.
