Opis:
This study was conducted to find out how large was the impact of the tsunami incident of 1996 on the mangrove spatial change and also to understand the distribution and level of mangrove density before and after tsunami in Biak Island (Oridek District and East Biak District), Biak Numfor Regency, Indonesia. In order to determine the condition of mangrove before tsunami, landsat 5 TM satellite image acquisition of July 6, 1994 and landsat 7 ETM+ satellite image acquisition of August 31, 2000 were used. The information about the distribution and extent of mangroves was obtained by analyzing the spectral values based on color composite image (RGB 453) and NDVI analysis. Overlay map of the result satellite image interpretation was used to learn the change of mangrove spatial extent area due to tsunami. The result showed that the mangrove area before the tsunami was 286.83 Ha (high density 36.63 Ha, medium density 140.60 Ha and small density 109.60 Ha), meanwhile the mangrove extent area after the tsunami was 102.51 Ha (high density 24.39 Ha, medium density 22,86 Ha and small density 55.26 Ha). The mangrove conditions before tsunami were crucial to the impact of mangrove area degradation directly. The change of mangrove spatial extent into two districts after tsunami occurred in 1996 amounts to 184.32 Ha, which it approximately 202.50 Ha mangrove being lost and the addition of mangrove in the new area are 18.18 Ha. The tsunami that occurred in 1996 affected the coastal ecosystems, especially the mangrove ecosystems in Oridek District.

Opis:
Agricultural land use and land cover dynamics were investigated in the Araban district of Turkey during the periods 1984–2019 by the use of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Landsat TM and Landsat TIRS / OLI satellite imageries were used to determine land use and land cover changes. Using unsupervised classification method of ERDAS 8.3 software, three main agricultural activities were identified namely irrigated farming, dry farming, and horticultural / garden farming. The analysis has revealed that during the last three decades dry farming has decreased significantly by 14.69% (3802.14 ha) whereas horticultural/garden crops and irrigated farming lands have increased by 11.32% (667.19 ha) and 2.51% (2929.41 ha) respectively. Araban has been under intensive agricultural use due to its fertile soil and preference for horticultural crops such as pistachio, grapes and olives that provide more profit over dry farming crops such as wheat and barley has changed land use. Decrease in dry farming in a semi arid climate where Araban is located, has a potential ecological consequence, including a rapid drop of groundwater level, drying of wetlands and the disappearance of the biodiversity, thus, a necessary measures should be taken to implement an environmentally friendly, sustainable agriculture and settlement plan.

Owing to the high toxicity of cadmium (Cd) towards biota and the considerable quantities of this element entering the environment from anthropogenic sources, interest in its biogeochemistry is increasing. This is also true for the marine environment, which serves as a sink for both natural and anthropogenic Cd loads entering the hydrosphere and the atmosphere. The distribution of Cd in the coastal zone of the marine environment is governed primarily by the flux of the so-called fluffy layer suspended matter (FLSM), which spreads across the top of the sea floor as a several-centimetre-thick layer containing highly concentrated suspended matter. Both total contents and solid speciation of Cd was measured in FLSM collected in the Pomeranian Bay – Arkona Deep system (Western Baltic Proper) in the course of the three-year-long study. Seasonal changes in the total Cd content (0.5–1.8 μg g−1 dry matter) were attributed to the contribution of organic suspensions originating from algal blooms. The decreasing content of Cd in FLSM offshore is due to the input of Cd-rich suspended matter from the River Odra (Oder), and the decreasing organic matter content in FLSM with increasing depth. The contribution of labile fractions (adsorbed and bound to iron(III) hydroxides) was found to be from 50 to 75% of the total content. In view of the substantial mobility and bioavailability of the fractions, this is a highly alarming feature.

Ogromne zmiany instytucjonalne, strukturalne i technologiczne, jakie zaszły w polskim przemyśle w okresie ostatnich 25 lat, zachęcają do refleksji nad tym, jaki wyraz znalazły one w przekształceniach przestrzennej organizacji tego sektora gospodarki. Autor podejmuje próbę wskazania podstawowych procesów przemian przestrzennych, jakie zaistniały w tym okresie w przemyśle kraju, przede wszystkim w skali regionalnej. Stanowi to punkt wyjścia do próby odpowiedzi na dwa zasadnicze pytania. Po pierwsze, jakie są główne czynniki i mechanizmy obserwowanych przemian przestrzennych przemysłu, a po drugie, w jakim stopniu zmiany zachodzące w przemyśle przyczyniają się do rozwoju regionalnego i lokalnego w różnych częściach kraju. Analiza trendów pojawiających się w okresie transformacji pokazuje, że zarówno czynniki endogeniczne, jak i egzogeniczne sprzyjały wzmocnieniu potencjału produkcyjnego obszarów metropolitalnych. Wpływały na to w szczególności zasoby wykwalifikowanej kadry, dostępność komunikacyjna i korzystne położenie względem rynków zbytu. Przyczyniło się to w istotny sposób do zwiększania znaczenia w polskim przemyśle rozwiniętych regionów zachodniej części kraju – Dolnego Śląska i Wielkopolski. Względnie udana restrukturyzacja cechowała Górnośląski Okręg Przemysłowy, a częściowo również Łódzki Okręg Przemysłowy, procesy deindustrializacji dotknęły przede wszystkim stare okręgi Sudecki i Staropolski. Interesujące jest to, że rola przemysłu w obszarach poza metropolitalnych nie uległa generalnemu zmniejszeniu, rozwój postępował tu w głównej mierze w oparciu o czynniki endogeniczne. Oddziaływanie polityki państwa na rozmieszczenie działalności przemysłowej miało miejsce głównie poprzez inwestycje drogowe, a nie specjalne strefy ekonomiczne.
Radical institutional, structural and technological changes which took place in Polish manufacturing and mining in the last 25 years are a good reason to discuss changes in spatial organization of this sector. The author aims at identifying the main processes of spatial change of industrial activity in the country at regional scale. This leads to two fundamental questions. First, what are the major factors and mechanisms of the identified spatial industrial change, and second, to what extent industrial changes find expression in regional and local development in various parts of the country. The analysis of trends in the transformation era show that both endogenous and exogenous factors contributed to the industrial growth of metropolitan areas. This was particularly stimulated by skilled labour, market and transport accessibility. The developed regions of Western Poland – Lower Silesia and Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) benefited most of all. A relatively successful restructuring took place in the Upper Silesian Industrial District and to some extent in the Łódż region too. Old industrial regions of the Sudety Mountains and Staropolski were significantly affected by deindustrialization processes at the same time. It is interesting, that the role of manufacturing in non-metropolitan areas has not decreased in general. Industrial development mainly rested on endogenous factors here. The impact of governmental policy on spatial changes in Polish manufacturing and mining took place primarily by means of road investment (new motorways) rather than special economic zones.

Na odbywającym się w październiku 2010 roku w Katowicach II Śląskim Forum Budownictwa autor przedstawił stan planowania regionalnego w Polsce. Postulował, żeby stworzyć jeden podstawowy dokument planowania regionalnego. Nazwał go wtedy „przestrzenną strategią rozwoju województwa”. Podkreślał także, że „obecna praktyka, posługująca się dwoma dokumentami, Strategią i Planem, zdaje się tkwić w historycznych zaległościach” [1]. Po dziesięciu latach powraca do tego tematu i dokonuje przeglądu zmian w podejściu do planowania rozwoju zagospodarowania przestrzennego w województwie śląskim. W kontekście obowiązujących regulacji prawnych zwraca uwagę na dążenia do kształtowania, a także prowadzenia w województwie zintegrowanej polityki rozwoju. Przedstawia przesłanki i uwarunkowania związane z przygotowaniem zmian w Planie Zagospodarowania Przestrzennego Województwa Śląskiego 2020+.
At the II Building Forum in Katowice in October 2010, the author presented the state of the regional planning in Poland. He proposed to create one basic regional planning document: „spatial development strategy”. He said: „Present practice of using two documents, The Strategy and The Plan, is outdated” [1]. After ten years, he comes back to this subject and reviews the changes in the land development planning in the Silesian Voivodeship. In the context of the present law regulations, he draws attention to attemps to shape and conduct an integrated development policy in the voivodeship. He presents premises and determinants connected with preparation of the changes in the Spatial Development Plan of the Silesian Voivodeship 2020+.

Powieści Wiesława Myśliwskiego są znanymi i docenianymi pozycjami polskiej literatury powojennej. Zawdzięczają to uniwersalizmowi świata przedstawionego oraz bogactwu symboli inspirowanych chłopskim sposobem pojmowania rzeczywistości. Autor kreując powieściowe historie, dociera do uniwersalnych prawd rządzących światem i ludzkim losem, prezentując je na przykładzie mieszkańców polskiej wsi.Celem pracy jest analiza konstrukcji przestrzeni w trzech powieściach Wiesława Myśliwskiego: Pałac, Kamień na kamieniu i Traktat o łuskaniu fasoli. Postaram się przedstawić zaistniałe zmiany w przestrzeni opisywanych tam miejscowości oraz wyciągnąć wnioski, jaki wpływ wywarły one na bohaterów. Szczególnie interesować mnie będą przemiany tożsamości wywołane czynnikami przestrzennymi, a także kategoria pamięci związana z miejscami uważanymi za szczególne. Motywem wspólnym dla wszystkich powieści jest wojna oraz, będąca jej pośrednim skutkiem, przemiana społeczno-kulturowa, przeobrażająca wiejski krajobraz.Jako metodę badawczą zastosuję analizę porównawczą powyższych powieści z wykorzystaniem kontekstu zagadnień antropologicznych.
The aim of the study is analyze the structure of space in three novels by Wiesław Myśliwski: The palace, Stone upon stone and A Treatise on Shelling Beans. The thesis trying to present the changes in the space described there and to draw conclusions about the impact that they have on the heroes. Particularly purpose of this research was showed the transformation of identity caused by spatial factors, as well as the category of memory associated with places considered special. The motif common to all novels is war, and its indirect effect, socio-cultural transformation, changing the countryside.As a research metod was applyed a comparative analysis of the above novels using the context of anthropological issues.

For many years the Nordic Seas have been the subject of research into ocean circulation carried out by the Institute of Oceanology PAS, especially the inflow of Atlantic water and the intensive turbulent mixing of these waters with Arctic and shelf waters. Ocean currents affect various biological processes, among them the supply of organic matter and oxygen, which constitute the foundation for the unique flora and fauna of the Svalbard islands. Spectrophotometric examinations of surface waters using an M32 B spectroflu- orophotometer (LDI Ltd.) were carried out repeatedly during Arctic cruises on board r/v ‘Oceania’. The results presented in this paper come from the AREX campaigns of 2003 and 2006. Analysis of the chlorophyll a fluorescence excitation spectra recorded shows an increase in phytoplankton abundance and the changes in the spatial distribution of the phytoplankton species characteristic of Atlantic, Arctic and shelf waters. The spatial patterns of the phytoplankton pigments and their abundance were compared with the physical characteristics of water masses. The analysis confirmed that phytoplankton species move together with the Atlantic water as this flows into northern latitudes.
