Opis:: In the article we describe the methods of teaching language and speech at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb (Croatia) and at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana (Slovenia). We start by describing how language and speech are taught as individual subjects, we present the trends in teaching language and speech and compare the teaching practices at both academies. The main part of the article intends to show the connection between theory and practice in teaching, which should result in a stronger connection between the scientific and artistic approach in teaching. The goal of comparing the teaching practices at both academies is to show the similarities and differences in teaching and to explicitly present models of teaching and models of assessing the speech of actors, which have proved to be indisputable according to the comparison.

Opis:: The рарег is focused оп different aspects of the соггеlatioп between stylistics аnd types of speech сulture. It is argued that апу kind of stylistics studies оnlу the highest type of speech culture common to people who have a perfect command of all language varieties. In other words, stylistics always deals exclusively with the accepted model of good speech. The first part of the paper concentrates on the essence of three branches of stylistics: functional stylistics, literary stylistics, and practical stylistics. Functional stylistics studies functional differentiation of standard language (the Russian equivalent of the English term standard language is numepamypmrn язык). Practical stylistics is aimed at choosing the best synonym.Literary stylistics analyses fictional texts whose authors make a maximum use of language resources. Only people of the fully functional type of speech culture can cope with the above-mentioned tasks.The second part of the paper is devoted to a study of the peculiarities of speech culture markers manifestation in different language varieties. A close analysis of extensive factual data has led the author to the conclusion that speech culture markers are most active in public and fiction discourse and least active in standardized documents and casual everyday conversation.

Opis:: The article deals with one specific approach towards the language (speech) culture (jazyková kultura), which links this discipline with stylistics. The approach is deeply rooted in the Czech context, namely in the functional approaches towards language developed since the 1920-1930s by members of the Prague School and still widely used. The field of interest of this discipline can be divided into four main spheres: 1) present-day situation and 2) possibilities of influencing A. language and B. speech (langue and parole in the established Saussurean terminology, in other words - system and usage). In university courses described in the article, the focus is on the 2A and 2B types - the materials examined in seminars are mainly various attempts at influencing language in both above-mentioned respects, i.e. system and usage. Although various present-day materials dominate, materials from previous centuries, e.g. by Jan Hus (15th century), are also used to illustrate approaches towards such problems in the past. The main aim of the courses is to understand better 1) function, 2) methods and 3) theoretical background presented in the investigated materials and to make qualified theoretical conclusions about them, rather than to support or reject directly the opinions expressed in the materials. Attention is therefore paid above all to a description and analysis of all of the above-mentioned three points, which links the discipline of language (speech) cultivation to stylistics, but also to other disciplines (e.g. sociolinguistics). The students, as future qualified experts in the Czech language, should then be better prepared for issues they may face in their future professional career (teachers, language experts etc.), when asked to express a qualified and reliable opinion of some phenomena in modern Czech.

Opis:: The article considers the question of the correlation of the subject and research methodology of functional stylistics and discourse analysis (primarily French tradition of discourse analysis - DA). It takes into account the change of modem linguistics from a structural paradigm to a functional one. It states the compared subjects refer to speech studies (speech linguistics) and account for the process of speech activity and its extralinguistic factors. It also proposes the definition of «discourse» . The emphasis is that unlike traditional stylistics which P. Serio distanced away from, modem works on functional stylistics are close to discourse analysis (DA).

Opis:: Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden einzelne Forschungsergebnisse der 2020 verfassten Dissertation vorgestellt, die den stilistischen Besonderheiten von Texten deutschsprachiger Zooführer gewidmet ist. Die Analyse beruht auf den Grundlagen pragmatischer Stilistik und erfolgt mithilfe des integrativen Ansatzes (Brinker 2014, Adamzik 2016) bzw. des Mehrebenenmodells von Heinemann/Heinemann (2002), sodass kontextuelle, inhaltliche, funktionale und strukturelle Textmerkmale in ihrer Ganzheit beschrieben werden. Die Analyse ermöglicht, Stilstruktur deutschsprachiger Zooführer zu ermitteln, wobei der Stil als Komplex von Elementen auf verschiedenen Textebenen verstanden wird. Der Untersuchung liegt ein umfassendes Material zugrunde: Zooführer vom Zoo Berlin, Leipzig, Hannover und Tiergarten Schönbrunn im Zeitraum zwischen 1799 und 2013. Aufgrund vom Textsortenwandel im Handlungsbereich „Zoologischer Garten“ und Übergang von Zooführern zu den Informationsquellen auf dem Zoogelände selbst (Gehegeschilder, Tafeln, Flyer, Faltblätter), im Internet und in Apps können Zooführer als bedrohte Textsorte bezeichnet werden. Zooführer begleiten die Zoogeschichte seit ihren Anfängen, sie wurden aber bis zur oben erwähnten Dissertation keiner sprachwissenschaftlichen Untersuchung unterzogen. Erwartungsgemäß liefern Zooführer Wegbeschreibung und Informationen zu Tieren, Anlagen und Unterhaltungen im Zoo, enthalten aber auch weitere Elemente einer Textmakrostruktur. Der Beitrag befasst sich mit der Analyse von „Werbeanzeige“, „Vorwort“ und „Reglement“ (Verhaltensordnung im Zoo) und erschließt ihre spezifischen linguostilistischen Charakteristika und intertextuelle Beziehungen in der Textsorte „Zooführer“.
This paper presents selected results of the dissertation which deals with stylistic peculiarities of German zoo guidebooks. The research was carried out within the framework of the German pragmatic stylistics paradigm and based on an integrative approach (Brinker 2014, Adamzik 2016) and the multilevel model of text description by Heinemann/Heinemann 2002, according to which contextual, thematic, functional and structural features of the text are described and stylistic structure is identified. Language means appear as indicators of themes and functions of the text. This research was based on zoo guidebooks from Berlin, Leipzig, Vienna and Hannover zoos in the period from 1799 to 2013. Zoo guidebooks can be described as an “endangered” text type due to the tendency to abandon zoo guidebooks in favour of information sources in zoos, Internet and apps. Zoo guidebooks have accompanied zoo history since the very beginning, but they had not served as a research object in any linguistic study until the above-mentioned dissertation was written. Zoo guidebooks provide information about animals, objects and entertainment on the territory of the zoo; they also contain other compulsory components of the text macrostructure. In the paper the author analyses specific linguostylistic characteristics of “advertising messages”, “introduction” and “visitors’ regulations” (“rules of visitors’ behaviour”) and intertextual relations between these texts.

Opis:: Artykuł stanowi analizę napisów publicznych postrzeganych jako swoiste miniteksty. Funkcjonują one w przestrzeni publicznej, są w dużym stopniu sformalizowane, szablonowe, utrwalone i rozpoznawalne społecznie. Zaprezentowana analiza pragmatyczna i stylistyczna objęła elementy językowe napisów. Poszczególne napisy publiczne zostały potraktowane jako akty mowy według typu dyrektywności, tj. zakazy, nakazy, prośby, ostrzeżenia i pozwolenia. Materiał poddany analizie został zebrany w przestrzeni publicznej Pragi – pochodzi z tabliczek, wywieszek, kartek, nalepek czy przycisków umieszczonych na drzwiach, oknach, bramach, słupach, wiatach, ścianach budynków itp.
This article contributes to the study of public inscriptions perceived as a specific kind of mini-text. They function in the public space and are highly formalised, stencilled, fixed and socially recognisable. The pragmatic and stylistic analysis presented here includes linguistic elements of the inscriptions. Individual public inscriptions are treated as speech acts according to the type of directivity, i.e. prohibitions, injunctions, requests, warnings and permissions. The analysed research material was collected in the public space of Prague, and it comes from placards, posters, cards, stickers or buttons placed on doors, windows, gates, poles, bus shelters, building walls, etc.

Opis:: The article covers the broad problems of the scientific works of Maria P. Kotyurova – professor of Perm State University, the leader of Perm Scientific School of Functional stylistics. The bibliography of Maria P. Kotyurova includes 7 monographs, 15 textbooks, more than 300 articles, in which the main questions of stylistics of scientific speech, semantic structure of scientific text, legal linguistics and many others are put forward and solved. Special attention in the article is given to the analysis of the key notions of Prof. Kotyurova’s stylistic theory, which are now generally recognised and fundamentally important in functional stylistics. Among these notions are scientific text extra-linguistic factors, epistemic situation, reference scientific text, scientific speech culture, principles of scientific text editing, scientist speech individual style, etc. As the most important achievements of Prof. Kotyurova the author of the article considers: the model of scientific text semantic structure developed by Prof. Kotyurova (the model includes three components of scientific knowledge – ontological, methodological and axiological); description of the basic scientific text categories – coherence, integrity, wholeness, accuracy, density, etc.; justification of a multidisciplinary (complex) approach to scientific text study; and studying of stereotypes and creativity in scientist communicative activity. It is noted that M. Kotyurova is distinguished by the ability to see the non-obvious but fundamentally important properties in a scientific text. The dynamics of the research interest of Prof. Kotyrova, from classical functional stylistics to anthropocentric and discursive linguistics, are analyzed. The author of the article underlines that, while retaining a commitment to the ideas of her teacher – Prof. Margarita N. Kozhina, Maria P. Kotyrova at the same time is an innovator in the development of modern functional stylistics and the application of new approaches to research text. The fruitfulness of Prof. Maria P. Kotyurova ideas was confirmed by numerous works of her followers both in Russia and abroad.
