FUNKCJONOWANIE ORGANIZACJI STUDENCKICH NA TLE ORGANIZACJI POZARZĄDOWYCH W POLSCE.

Opis:: Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie funkcjonowania organizacji studenckich na tle organizacji pozarządowych. Praca zmierza do ukazania funkcjonowania tych organizacji oraz przedstawienia ich analizy porównawczej pod kątem podobieństw i różnic. Ponadto dokonano w niej przedstawienia funkcjonowania trzeciego sektora w Polsce oraz specyfiki funkcjonowania organizacji studenckich w Polsce na podstawie wybranych organizacji. Praca zawiera również wnioski i rekomendacje wynikające z przeprowadzenia wywiadów swobodnych z pięcioma organizacjami oraz analizy ich dokumentacji. Praca ma charakter poznawczy zmierzający do udowodnienia tezy, iż organizacje studenckie i pozarządowe funkcjonują na bardzo zbliżonych zasadach. Stanowi to nowy obszar wiedzy w dziedzinie zarządzania.
The present thesis focuses on the way non-profit student-run organizations operate compared to other types of non-profit organizations. The author’s aim is to analyze their similarities, as well as differences. Furthermore, the thesis presents the Polish third sector characteristics, as well student organizations forms of activity and financial condition on the basis of chosen organizations. The thesis includes conclusions and recommendations derived from undertaken unstructured interviews. Members of five student organizations were interviewed; moreover their official documents, such as charters, were thoroughly examined. The thesis aims at proving the hypothesis claiming that very similar rules of management apply to both student organizations and other types of NGOs.

Opis:: The main aim of the article is to describe the activity of members and supporters of Academic Scientific Circle of Spatial Management over the years. It was achieved by presenting the origins of Scientific Circle, people associated with and carried out activities. In author evaluation the role of Scientific Circle is constantly growing. It is a result of focusing on practical project and activities that affect in the urban space. Nowadays, the main aim of scientific circle is to establish the forum of co-operation between Polish circles of spatial management and increase the activity in the sphere of scientific research.

Tytuł:: Czynniki wpływające na zaangażowanie w pracę w organizacjach studenckich.
Factors influencing the commitment to work in student organizations.

Opis:: Non-profit organizations are not engaged in generating private profit, but in a pursuit of specific objectives related to their mission. Given the lack of financial remuneration, we assumed that there must be other factors guiding people working in the structures of such organizations.In this thesis, we presented various factors influencing one’s involvement in work. We have carried out a study aiming to verify the importance of the 14 non-wage factors we have singled out. In our analysis, we compared their significance in two chosen student organizations. We have also checked whether there are differences in the perception of work for an organization, considering differences in job seniority (with the division into: less than 1 year and more than 1 year).The research material was obtained by means of online surveys and individual interviews. In the study, 82 respondents answered the questions included in the survey, we also conducted 4 interviews and personal participant observations. The groups we examined consisted of students and graduates of universities of Krakow. They were both ordinary members of these organizations and persons performing managerial functions. Their seniority ranged from a few months of work to up to as many as 6 years.The results of the study show that all of the aforementioned factors are significant for one’s engagement in the workings of the organization, but 4 of them play a statistically significantly greater role. In the breakdown by membership in the organization, the differences have been demonstrated with respect to the factors related to access to non-formal education, access to job offers and commitment of the leader in the organization’s operations. The breakdown by seniority showed only one factor significantly differentiating the subjects in both groups, that is the mission and the ideas that guide the organization. However, it is undeniably an important factor in the context of internal motivation.During the interviews, my interlocutors enumerated problems connected with the level of activity and retention of new members in organizations. These conversations have shown that the problem is the external image of the organization (an apparently closed group) and the reactivation of the previously active persons.
Organizacje non- profit nie zajmują się generowaniem prywatnego zysku, a dążeniem do określonych celów związanych z misją organizacji. Ze względu na brak finasowych wynagrodzeń założyłam, że muszą istnieć inne czynniki kierujące ludźmi działającymi w ich strukturach.W niniejszej pracy przedstawiłam zróżnicowane czynniki wpływające na zaangażowanie w pracę. Przeprowadzone zostały przeze mnie badania mające na celu zweryfikowanie istotności wyodrębnionych 14 czynników pozapłacowych. Podczas analizy porównana została ich istotność w 2 przykładowych organizacjach studenckich. Sprawdziłam także, czy pojawiają się różnice w postrzeganiu pracy na rzecz organizacji w przypadku różnic w stażu pracy (przy podziale na poniżej 1 roku oraz powyżej 1 roku).Materiał badawczy został zgromadzony za pomocą ankiet online oraz indywidualnych wywiadów. Na potrzeby niniejszej pracy użyto 82 ankiet, 4 wywiadów oraz obserwacji własnych. W przebadanych przeze mnie grupach znaleźli się studenci i absolwenci krakowskich uczelni wyższych. Byli to zarówno zwyczajni członkowie tychże organizacji, jak i osoby pełniące funkcje zarządcze. Staż ich pracy wahał się pomiędzy kilkoma miesiącami działalności, a nawet 6 latami.W generalnym rozrachunku respondenci wskazali na isotność wszystkich wymienionych czynników, jednakże na uwagę zasługują 4 z nich ukazujące różnice w postrzeganiu swoich motywów przez ankietowanych. Przy podziale ze względu na członkostwo w organizacji różnice zostały wykazane w przypadku czynników związanych z dostępem do edukacji nieformalnej, z dostępem do ofert pracy oraz zaangażowaniem lidera w działania organizacji. Podział ze względu na staż pracy wykazał jedynie 1 element znacząco różniący badanych w obu grupach, a jest to misja oraz idee, którymi kieruje się organizacja. Niezaprzeczalnie jednak jest to czynnik istotny w kontekście motywacji wewnętrznej Podczas wywiadów moi badani wymienili problemy związane z aktywnością oraz utrzymaniem nowych członków w organizacjach. Rozmowy te wykazały, że problem stanowi obraz zewnętrzny organizacji (pozorne zamknięcie) oraz ponowna aktywizacja uprzednio aktywnych osób.

Opis:: In the following work I examine and analyze the issue of student satisfaction from participation in the student organization AIESEC. I start my considerations by presenting a short history of student organizations in Poland. Then I move on to the description of international student organizations. In the next part of my thesis I present a study of a group of students prepared by me and analyze the results. The conclusion I draw from the in-depth analysis of the survey results is that the students are satisfied with their work in AIESEC. In the final part of my thesis I summarize and make recommendations on what can be improved to make the results of the survey even better.
W poniższej pracy badam i analizuje zagadnienie jakim jest satysfakcja studentów z uczestnictwa w organizacji studenckiej AIESEC. Rozpoczynam rozważania od przedstawienia krótkiej historii organizacji studenckich w Polsce. Następnie przechodzę do opisu międzynarodowych organizacji studenckich. W kolejnej części pracy magisterskiej przedstawiam przygotowane przeze mnie badanie grupy studentów oraz analizuję wyniki. Wnioski jakie nasuwają się po dogłębnej analizie wyników badania to, że studenci są zadowoleni z pracy w organizacji AIESEC. W części końcowej mojej pracy podsumowuję oraz wysuwam rekomendacje co można poprawić aby wyniki badania były jeszcze lepsze.

Opis:: Artykuł przedstawia powstanie i działalność Koła Naukowego Edukacji Międzykulturowej, organizacji studenckiej istniejącej od dziewięciu lat na cieszyńskim Wydziale Etnologii i Nauk o Edukacji Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Katowicach. Udział studentów w konferencjach naukowych, projektach międzynarodowych i podejmowane przez nich inicjatywy pozwalają poszerzać wiedzę i zdobywać umiejętności społeczne (w tym międzykulturowe), organizacyjne, menedżerskie, a także naukowe. Okazują się one przydatne w dalszej pracy zawodowej, przez co wielu członków KNEM po studiach zostaje cenionymi przez pracodawców specjalistami.
The article presents the foundation and activity of the Science Club of Intercultural Education, a students’ organization which has existed for nine years at the Faculty of Ethnology and Education of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Students’ participation in academic conferences or international projects and the initiatives which they undertake allow for broadening the knowledge and for acquiring social (also intercultural), organizational, managing and scientific skills. They turn out to be useful in further professional career, therefore after graduation many club members become specialists who are highly valued by employers.

Opis:: This paper examines the experiences of Jewish university students in Warsaw, Lvov, Wilno and Cracow, focusing on their interactions with each other as well as with other students. These experiences are divided into three categories: daily encounters and mutual relations (or the lack thereof), the vision of the academic community to which the students aspired, and Jewish students' reactions to antisemitism. I argue that for many Jewish students, these daily university experiences both on campuses and beyond strengthened their sense of being outsiders. Having been excluded from most of the general student organizations they had to form their own, which limited their interactions with other students even further, and, above all, strengthened feeling that they were being singled out and victimized.

Opis:: Student scientific organizations and research groups create numerous opportunities for the development of interests and passions related to many fields of science. In case of geological sciences, student research groups are organizations which are conducive to exchanging first scientific ideas between young geologists and experienced researchers. These associations constitute also a generational bridge between students and their teachers. The beginnings of the firstformal organizations of geology students date back to the second halfof the 1940s and 1950s. Due to the nature of geological studies, membership in scientific circles, is associatedfrom the beginning of their activities with many research trips and participation in conferences. This paper aims at presenting the history and contemporary activity of geological student research groups in Poland. We describedfive organizations, whose activities constitute an integral part of geological studies in our country. Authors wish to remind distinguished teachers and members of student research groups, who contributed to their development in a special way.
