Opis:: Main factors affecting the social transformation process in UkraineThe aim of the study is to show the main socially determined reasons for the hitherto failure of the transformation process in Ukraine. Social factors of failures have been divided into external and internal ones. The main external one lies in the imperialist politics of the Russian Federation exploiting the existence of the "homo sovieticus'' and a large Russian-speaking minority in Ukraine. Internal factors are divided into the ones related to identity problems of Ukrainian citizens (ethnic diversity and, again, "homo sovieticus") and those resulting from the weakness of political elites, which, for almost the past quarter of a century have not been able to lead to the creation of even the initial phase of a civil society in Ukraine.

Opis:: The article presents a diagnostic assessment of the political and economic system transformation process in Poland. The author expresses an opinion that Solidarity as a mass social and political organization played a significant role only in the destruction of communism but not in the creation of a new political system. Its main leader, Lech Walesa, did not allow it to do so. And it was substituted in that role by the conservative - formerly communist - power after it had eliminated the orthodox communists' fraction. In co-operation with the Democratic Union and later the Union of Freedom, and Lech Walesa himself, it substantially contributed to the creation of a new post-communist system. In such conditions the economic system could not be formed following the model of fair capitalism but political capitalism based on the principles of pseudo-liberal ideology and propaganda and a contemptuous treatment of the academic science of liberal-market economics. The article also presents two forecast scenarios of future changes of the political system.

Opis:: The article describes changes in social awareness concerning social system, in particular the sphere of work. In theoretical dimension, the article refers to concept of social system and the perception of normative models: social, political, and economic. The empirical part presents the results of research into the field of social awareness, especially the awareness of members of a generation functioning in a liberal-democratic social system. The respondents were young residents of Warsaw with higher education. The research was carried out with a few-year time interval. The sphere of work is treated here as a key element of the wider social reality and included empirically through the individual orientation of the respondents in the normative models of society. In the light of research the sphere of work is clearly specific. In particular, the labour market regulations differs significantly from the reception of the remaining components of the social system.

Opis:: The key issue analyzed in the article are the changes in Polish media that occurred in the 1990s as an effect of political transformation started in 1989. However, in order to comprehend the complexity of the process in relation to media and to fully appreciate the tempo and scope of the changes one has to realize how media function during the Polish People’s Republic. The main idea of the process was to transform a non-democratic system with all its characteristics into a typically democratic system based on two fundamental values: freedom of speech and pluralism of media. The building of a democratic media system in Poland was relatively fast. In said system, the media are to guarantee freedom, which was firmly acknowledged in the 1997 constitution. The media are considered to be “the fourth power” and “a watch dog for democracy”. When evaluating the process one needs to bear in mind that the commencement of any changes was possible thanks to a consistent implementation of the concept of “new informational order” developed by “podstolik medialny” (a media sub-table) and put down in “Porozumienia Okrągłego Stołu” (“Polish Round Table Agreement”).

Opis:: The process of system transformation starting in the 90s and continuing its consequences since more than a decade directs to the functioning in the mentioned context of social actors with the specific scope of demands, related to their adaptation to the liberal and democratic reality. The demands are directed to the individuals as well as to the different institutions, among others to the educational ones. The process of adaptation to new social conditions and reaching more actual qualities, in the criteria of the highly advanced in specific aspects societies or communities, can take on the form of modernisation. In the paper there are analysed the characteristics of the actual social realities of pluralistic, liberal, democratic every-day conditions, their consequences for the spheres of the individuals' functioning and directions of the possibilities of utilizing the resolves implicated by the theory of modernisation in creating the educational and extra-educational reality.

Opis:: W artykule zostały przedstawione przesłanki o charakterze zewnętrznym zmian systemowych w ZSRR: ideologiczna ułomność systemu; dysfunkcyjność oparta na rozbieżnościach, wynikających z doświadczeń historycznych państw Europy Środkowej i Wschodniej; nieefektywność gospodarek socjalistycznych, osłabiająca potencjał ZSRR; szereg wydarzeń w przestrzeni międzynarodowej nadających ton i charakter przyszłych zmian transformacyjnych. Czynniki te musiały nie tylko zaistnieć, ale i stworzyć pewną konfigurację zdarzeń, gdzie każdy element tej układanki miał swoje przyczyny i konsekwencje. W rezultacie tego procesu doszło do zmian transformacyjnych, które doprowadziły do powstania Federacji Rosyjskiej jako spadkobiercy ZSRR ze wszystkimi tego konsekwencjami.
The article outlines the external conditions for systemic change in the USSR: the ideological weakness of the system; the dysfunctionality based on divergences resulting from the historical experience of Central and Eastern European countries; the inefficiency of socialist economies, weakening the potential of the USSR; a number of events in the international space setting the tone and character of future transformational changes. These factors had to not only exist, but also create a certain configuration of events, where each piece of the puzzle had its causes and consequences. As a result of this process, there were the subsequent transformational changes that led to the emergence of the Russian Federation as the heir to the USSR with all its implications.

Opis:: This text is the effort of having a look at the system transformation and inequalities in health cused by it from the perspective of Eliot Freidson’s theory. The author wants to show the makrosocial process and their costs from the ordinary people’s point of view. The empirical material will be the fragments of letters sent to TVP program II by the viewers systematically watching the programs of non conventional therapist A.M. Kaszpirowski. This kind of personal documents among others gives the possibility of subjective experiencing the financial difficulties in the first phase of transformation, registration of impressions connected with the trauma of the “big change”, finally allowes to follow the examples of new thinking about the social and economic problems: increase of civil activity, autocreative and innovative attitudes.

Opis:: Przedmiotem pracy jest pokazanie sposobów oddziaływania systemów podatkowych na przedsiębiorczość. Teza pracy: Za pomocą systemów podatkowych można aktywizować przedsiębiorczość. Celem pracy jest wykazanie, że krajach transformacji systemowej występują takie elementy i cechy systemów podatkowych, które wpływają na aktywizację przedsiębiorczości w danych warunkach społecznych, gospodarczych czy politycznych. Na potrzeby pracy wybrano cztery kraje. Dokonano analizy ich systemów podatkowych pod kątem wpływu na przedsiębiorczość, oraz przeprowadzono analizę porównawczą elementów systemów podatkowych wpływających na przedsiębiorczość. Metody badawcze wykorzystane w pracy to: metoda historyczna, komparatystyczna, analiza dokumentów. Dodatkowo posłużono się bibliografią, raportami, ustawami, rozporządzeniami, danymi statystycznymi i publikacjami Banku Światowego, Eurostatu, MFW, IOTA, urzędów statystycznych i instytucji krajowych. Praca badawcza posłużyła do zrealizowania zamierzonego celu. Na jej podstawie zostały przedstawione wnioski, które potwierdziły postawioną tezę.
The subject of the work is to present how tax systems impact entrepreneurship. Thesis of the work: entrepreneurship can be activated by tax systems. The aim of this study is to demonstrate that system transformation countries have such elements and features of tax systems that affect entrepreneurship activation in a certain social, economic or political conditions. Four countries were selected for the purposes of this work. An analysis of their tax systems has been carried out in terms of impact on entrepreneurship, as well as comparative analysis of tax systems elements that influence entrepreneurship. Research methods used in this work are: historical method, comparative method, analysis of documents. Additionally- bibliography, reports, laws, regulations, statistical data, publications of the World Bank, Eurostat, IMF, IOTA, statistical offices and national institutions were used. The research was used to achieve the intented purpose. On the basis of the research findings were presented which confirmed staked thesis.

Opis:: The rapid economic transformation in Central and Eastern Europe, modelled on Western economies and based, in some aspects, on neoliberal principles, has found the region's countries to a bigger (Eastern European countries) or lesser (Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary) degree unprepared. The resulting economic recession, especially in Russia, has had an adverse effect on mutual trade between Poland and Russia. In order to improve economic relations with Russia and increase the trade volume, Poland, remaining within the bounds of EU standards and regulations, needs to adapt the commodity structure of Polish exports to the needs of the Russian market.

Przede wszystkim starano się zaprezentować warunki w jakich przyszło rozwijać się polskim bankom komercyjnym oraz jak zmieniały się ich usługi w zależności od potrzeb klientów.Praca składa się z 4 rozdziałów (części teoretycznej i empirycznej). W 1 rozdziale omówiono główne aspekty przemian jakie wymogła zmiana ustroju gospodarczego na polskim systemie bankowym. Opisano podłoże zmian prawnych oraz organizacyjnych.W 2 rozdziale dokładnie zanalizowano różnego typu operacje bankowe dostępne w bankach komercyjnych po 1989 roku oraz po 1998 roku. Ważną część pracy (rozdział 3) stanowi studium przypadku, tj. opisanie działalności Banku Pekao S.A., zaczynając od daty założenia – 1929 rok, do charakterystyki usług w czasie od 1989 roku do 2011 roku.Ostatnim rozdziałem (rozdział 4) jest analiza ankiety przeprowadzonej wśród klientów Banku Pekao S.A., która pozwoliła na wyciągnięcie ciekawych wniosków dotyczących usług bankowych. Przede wszystkim udało się dowiedzieć czy sposób zarządzania bankiem spełnia oczekiwania nabywców usług oraz czym w ich opinii jest jakość usług, a także za pomocą jakich instrumentów Bank jest w stanie ją zapewnić.
The main purpose of this disseration is to present a range of issues concerning transformacion of polish banking system. First and foremost, conditions under which the process of transformation came to develop in Polish commercial banks and how it varied their service depending on customer needs, were put forward.The work consists of four chapters enclosed in two parts: theoretical and empirical. In the first chapter main aspects of modifications necessitated by the economic transformation in the Polish banking system, its legal base and organizational changes are discussed. In the second chapter, precise analysis concerning various types of banking operations available in commercial banks after 1989 and after 1998 is described.The most important part of the disseration (the third chapter) provides a case study. It applies for the activities of Bank Pekao S.A., starting from the date of establishment – 1929 year and ending up on the characteristic of services provided during the periodof of time from 1989 to 2011.The last chapter (chapter 4) contains the analysis of a survey ran among customers of Bank Pekao S.A., which helped to draw interesting conclusions about banking services. First of all, it contributed to give knowledge whether the management of the bank meets the expectations of buyers, what in their opinion is the quality of services and by which instrumnets the Bank is able to implement it.
