Opis:
Patellofemoral pain syndrome occurs when there is a degeneration of the patellar cartilage between both bone surfaces of the femur and the patella. Its characteristic symptom is anterior knee pain that worsens when this joint is moved. The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of kinesio taping on patellofemoral pain syndrome through the analysis of published scientific studies up until June 2014. A literature search was carried out in the following electronic databases: Scopus, Sport Discus, PEDro, Cochrane Library Plus, Embase, Web of Science and Science Direct to locate studies that were relevant to this review. Out of 159 articles examined, after eliminating duplicates and upon completion of reading them, the review was finally reduced to 12 articles. After reviewing the literature regarding the effectiveness of kinesio taping on the improvement of knee pain, we concluded there is insufficient scientific evidence to support this theory. It is an inexpensive technique that can be combined with other therapies and has no side effects, but there is controversy in the analyzed studies on its possible benefits on the patellofemoral pain syndrome. For this reason, it is essential to carry out further methodologically sound research regarding the usefulness of kinesio taping in the treatment of this syndrome.

Opis:
The narrative Gradov town written by A. Platonov attracted attention of many researchers in Soviet and Post Soviet periods. The most interesting approaches to interpretation are revealed in this work: widening of “bureaucracy” and “red tape” meaning; a problem of revolutionary tasks substituted by bureaucrats’ victories; a way of traditions’ using. Some unsuccessful attempts of philological analysis of the narrative were mentioned.

Opis:
One of the types of superconducting fault current limiters are inductive. Windings in these limiters are made of second generation superconducting tapes (HTS 2G). Large resistance in resistive state and large currents flowing by the limiter windings during the fault cause the dissipate significant amounts of power and strong heating of the windings, which causes increase in impedance of the limiter. We discuss the influence of the windings heating on the value of limiting short circuit current.
Jednym z typów nadprzewodnikowych ograniczników prądu są ograniczniki typu indukcyjnego. Ich uzwojenia wykonane są z taśmy nadprzewodnikowej drugiej generacji (2G). Duża rezystancja w stanie rezystywnym i duże wartości prądów zwarciowych powodują wydzielanie dużych ilości energii i silne nagrzewanie uzwojeń, które powoduje wzrost impedancji ogranicznika. W artykule omówiono wpływ agrzewania sie uzwojeń na wydajność ograniczania prądów zwarciowych.

This article presents the construction, control system and automated control system software for a cinema tapes scanning system.The control interface and software have been developed at the Department of Automation and Robotics of Maritime University of Szczecin, with participation of an experienced employee of film industry.The purpose of development of the control system and software is to conduct automated scanning of frames, and copy them into computer in order to digitize the individual frames and improve their quality.

Opis:
Computer assisted calculations consists in applying software for the simu-lation of models of certain devices and later analysing their behavior under given conditions corresponding to real working conditions in a specific environment.The paper proposes a circuit model of 2G YBCO super-conducting tape created in the PSpice program. The model consists of passive blocks and active user blocks of analogue behavioural modelling (ABM). ABM blocks calculate the conductances, the currents of the indi-vidual layers of the superconducting tape, its thermal capacity, the heating power, the cooling power and resulting temperature of the tape. The model uses table of thermal power density passed to the liquid nitrogen vs. temperature. Smooth transition of the YBCO superconductor layer into the resistive state is described by Rhyner’s power law. The developed model was used for generating waveforms of thermal and electrical quantities.

Introduction: Implants used to treat patients with urogynecological conditions are well visible in US examination. The position of the suburethral tape (sling) is determined in relation to the urethra or the pubic symphysis. Aim of the study: The study was aimed at assessing the accuracy of measurements determining suburethral tape location obtained in pelvic US examination performed with a transvaginal probe. Material and methods: The analysis covered the results of sonographic measurements obtained according to a standardized technique in women referred for urogynecological diagnostics. Data from a total of 68 patients were used to analyse the repeatability and reproducibility of results obtained on the same day. Results: The intraclass correlation coefficient for the repeatability and reproducibility of the sonographic measurements of suburethral tape location obtained with a transvaginal probe ranged from 0.6665 to 0.9911. The analysis of the measurements confirmed their consistency to be excellent or good. Conclusions: Excellent and good repeatability and reproducibility of the measurements of the suburethral tape location obtained in a pelvic ultrasound performed with a transvaginal probe confirm the test’s validity and usefulness for clinical and academic purposes.
Wstęp: Implanty stosowane do leczenia pacjentek z dolegliwościami uroginekologicznymi są dobrze widoczne w badaniu ultrasonograficznym. Lokalizacja taśmy podcewkowej określana jest w stosunku do cewki moczowej oraz spojenia łonowego. Cel pracy: Celem pracy była ocena dokładności pomiarów określających lokalizację taśmy podcewkowej uzyskanych podczas badania ultrasonograficznego dna miednicy wykonywanego głowicą przezpochwową. Materiał i metody: Analizą objęto wyniki pomiarów ultrasonograficznych przeprowadzonych zgodnie z wystandaryzowaną techniką u kobiet, które zostały skierowane na diagnostykę uroginekologiczną. Do analizy powtarzalności i odtwarzalności wyników uzyskanych tego samego dnia wykorzystano dane od 68 pacjentek. Wyniki: Współczynnik korelacji wewnątrzklasowej dla powtarzalności oraz odtwarzalności pomiarów lokalizacji taśmy podcewkowej uzyskanych w badaniu ultrasonograficznym głowicą przezpochwową wahał się od 0,6665 do 0,9911. Analiza pomiarów lokalizacji taśmy podcewkowej potwierdziła ich zgodność na bardzo dobrym i dobrym poziomie. Wnioski: Bardzo dobra i dobra powtarzalność oraz odtwarzalność pomiarów lokalizacji taśmy podcewkowej uzyskanych w badaniu ultrasonograficznym dna miednicy wykonywanym głowicą przezpochwową stanowią potwierdzenie możliwości zastosowania tego badania w praktyce klinicznej i w badaniach naukowych.
