Opis:
Aim/purpose – Employees are expected to perform duties consistent with their professional roles. However, they are often required to undertake tasks they perceive as unreasonable or unnecessary. The concept of illegitimate tasks has garnered increasing attention since its introduction. Illegitimate tasks have been found to account for unique variations in well-being and stress. A systematic narrative review of the literature on illegitimate tasks is necessary since the relevant literature is still in its infancy. Design/methodology/approach – A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) guidelines on three primary journal databases: Scopus, Web of Science, and EBSCOhost. The citations were screened out based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Findings – Illegitimate tasks represent the job designs and assignments of tasks within organizations. Various factors contribute to stress caused by illegitimate tasks among employees. This review encapsulates the antecedent factors of illegitimate tasks (leadership roles, psychological factors, workplace factors, individual characteristics, job factors) and results (emotions, cognition, work attitude, health, well-being, behavioral factors). Furthermore, this review provides insight into moderators and mediators associated with illegitimate tasks. Research implications/limitations – One limitation of this SLR is the possibility of publication bias, as it primarily includes published studies, potentially overlooking unpublished and non-English studies. Furthermore, the included studies’ quality and heterogeneity may compromise the review’s generalizability, which could limit its scope. Originality/value/contribution – This review also offers directions for future academic research. It suggests developing new stress measures for illegitimate tasks designed to the specific functions of organizational tasks rather than relying on a general illegitimate tasks scale.

This article contains knowledge obtained on the basis of task evaluation in current biology textbooks. Twenty seven textbooks were analysed of the Fortuna, Fraus, Jinan, Nová škola, Prodos, Scientia and SPN publishing companies. Analysis was concentrated on the diversity of difficult tasks. Attention was paid also to the number and position of tasks in texts. The difficulty of tasks was classificated according to Tollingerová. The highest diversity of difficult tasks was found in the textbooks of the Fraus and SPN publishing companies.

Opis:
Tasks with content are one of the means to achieve the goals of mathematical education. They can be a bridge between “school Mathematics” and the student’s daily experience. The analysis of strategy and effectiveness of solving tasks with content shows specific difficulties associated with heuristics, especially among students with low family capital. The results of the researches mentioned in the article indicate the small experience of students with self-drafting tasks. Positive conclusions provide the analysis of the factors responsible for engaging students to undertake text tasks.
Zadania z treścią są jednym ze środków służących realizacji celów kształcenia matematycznego. Mogą stanowić pomost między „szkolną matematyką” a codziennym doświadczeniem ucznia. Analiza strategii i skuteczności rozwiązywania zadań z treścią pokazuje specyficzne trudności, związane z heurezą, w szczególności wśród uczniów o niskim kapitale rodzinnym. Wyniki omawianych badań wskazują na niewielkie doświadczenia uczniów związane z samodzielnym układaniem zadań. Pozytywnych wniosków dostarcza analiza czynników odpowiedzialnych za zaangażowanie uczniów do podjęcia zadań testowych.

Opis:
The approaches to the organization of the educational process aimed at the formation of the ICT competence and development of life competencies at different levels of education - from primary school to the first year at the universities are discovered in the article. As an example of instrument for the proposed approach the system of competency task that provides content, technological, structural, active and instrumental component is proposed. The results of approbation of the proposed system show a positive trend of forming students’ soft skills.

Opis:
In modern language teaching institutions and schools, the proficient language teachers apply different kinds of tasks to teach some skills and sub-skills. In the current study, the researcher investigated the effect of two different tasks, namely Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL)-based tasks and written questions tasks on students’ English grammar learning. The researcher in the control group asked the participants to answer the written questions in their workbooks and the participants in the experimental group do their assignments using the computers. Based on the post-test results, both CALL-based and written question tasks had positive effects on the participants. The study supports the idea that motivating tasks can have positive results toward language learning.

Opis:
Working memory (WM) is essential to vocabulary learning. However, limited attention has been paid to young beginner learners’ vocabulary development under various task conditions from the perspective of WM. This study investigates how two types of WM – complex WM and phonological short-term memory – may influence two instructional approaches (i.e., input and output tasks) on picking up new words. 93 young learners studying English as a foreign language (EFL) participated in input and output tasks and four vocabulary assessments. These assessments functioned as a pretest, immediate posttest, and delayed posttest. The participants also took two WM tests: an operation span test for complex WM and a word repetition test for phonological short-term memory. The results demonstrated that: (1) both input and output tasks significantly influenced the learning and retention of new words, (2) complex WM did not substantially predict task effects on the learning and retention of new words, and (3) phonological WM had a notable impact on learning and retaining new words under the input and output task conditions. The findings emphasize the role of WM for EFL young learners’ vocabulary learning through tasks.

Opis:
In the current industrial context, the human workforce still represents a key resource thanks to its cognitive and motor flexibility. The present work explores the role of Industry 4.0 assistive technologies in production and logistics systems from a human-centric perspective. These technologies aim to provide cognitive or physical support to operators executing manual tasks, rather than substituting them. Therefore, there is need for a comprehensive understanding of the impact of assistive technologies on the well-being and performance of operators from a human-centric perspective. In this paper, a literature review on available assistive technologies is provided. Technologies are classified based on the type of manual task (picking, assembly), type of support provided to the operator (cognitive, motor), and potential drawbacks. Outcomes emphasize the need of a thorough human-centric perspective in developing and deploying assistive technologies.

The problem at work that is being focused on the adolescent’s developmental tasks in families with alcohol problems, especially in families with treated alcoholics. In present work was hypothesised that treatment of alcoholic fathers would be the one of the important protective factors in families with alcoholism. The first question addressed was whether children of treated alcoholics have been differed from children of drinking alcoholics according to the developmental tasks. The next question addressed was whether the specific family context was associated with the adolescent’s development. Participants included 91 children age 17-18. The research sample comprised three groups: 31 children of drinking alcoholics, 30 children of treated alcoholics, and 30 children of non-alcoholic parents. In general, the results of the present study suggest that the process treatment of the alcoholic parents was found to be a significant protective factor in alcoholic families.
