Opis:: Na całym świecie agenda ekologiczna jest pilną kwestią, ale świadomość i działania poszczególnych osób zarządzających nadchodzącym kryzysem są bardzo zróżnicowane. Edukacja może odgrywać kluczową rolę w takich procesach, ale jak należy promować zachowania proekologiczne (EB)? Przedstawione badania zweryfikowały skuteczność interwencji w ramach kampanii, która była częścią procesu certyfikacji zielonego kampusu w izraelskim kolegium dla nauczycieli. Kampania obejmowała formalne i nieformalne interwencje z zakresu edukacji ekologicznej (EE). W badaniach przed i po (pre-post) oceniono świadomość studentów na temat kampanii, zmiany w ich wiedzy na temat kwestii związanych z ochroną środowiska, ich zachowania proekologiczne oraz postawy wobec edukacji ekologicznej. Okazało się, że studenci byli świadomi interwencji prowadzonych na terenie kampusu, a zwłaszcza dobrze widocznych działań. Ponadto stwierdzono poprawę w zakresie podstawowej wiedzy studentów i ich zachowań proekologicznych, a także wzrost znaczenia przypisywanego EE. Wyniki te uzasadniają kontynuację takich interwencji edukacyjnych w kampusach z zastosowaniem różnych podejść pedagogicznych w stosunku do przyszłych nauczycieli, którzy będą kształcić następne pokolenia.
The ecological agenda is a burning issue worldwise but awareness and individual behaviors targeted at managing this approaching crisis vary dramatically. Education may play a pivotal role in such processes, but how do we promote pro-environmental behaviour (EB)? This study tested the effectiveness of a campaign intervention, which was conducted as part of a green campus certification process in a teaching college in Israel. The campaign included formal and informal environmental education (EE) interventions. A pre–post survey assessed students’ awareness of the campaign, changes in students’ knowledge of environmental issues, pro-EB and attitudes toward EE. The findings showed that students were aware of the interventions held on campus, especially of activities which had high visibility. Moreover, improvement in students’ basic knowledge and pro-EB were found, as well as improvement in the importance they ascribe to EE. These findings justify continued implementation of such educational interventions on campuses, involving a variety of pedagogical approaches for preservice teachers, who will educate the next generation.

Opis:: The present article is a teaching guide for a class or a series of classes about the discourse of Otherness, as employed in the medieval romance The King of Tars. It proposes an in-class discussion that reveals how the romance tells a story of an encounter with the Other and how it perpetuates the discourse of Otherness while doing that. Various strategies used in the tale to perform Othering are analyzed. These include the presentation of Muslims as a dehumanized outgroup, with its main representative – the Sultan – being portrayed as a beast missing the rational part of the soul; contrasting the said presentation with that of the rational Christian Princess; employing and modifying the motif of monstrous birth to define the Sultan further through his failure as a father and through the absence of what the tale sees as the essence of the human soul; setting the transforming power of the dominant group’s rituals against the ineffective, empty rituals of the out-group; the use of the rhetoric of proximity, i.e. pointing to certain similarities between “us” and “them” only to make the differences even more pronounced. The analysis of these strategies helps to recognize that while the characters within the represented world of the romance other Muslims through their actions, the narrator does the same through the use of the discourse of Otherness. The article is also devised as a review of criticism on the romance in the context of Otherness, so it can be useful as a starting point for those willing to research this matter further.

In terms, therefore, of adviser’s performance in whatever field of achieving the goal, his moral principle is a potent factor that is to be reckoned with in order to explain his work attitudes and habits and the qualitative and quantitative aspects of his work performance. This study is focused on the identification of the moral principle and teaching performance of college advisers/professors, as well as the relationship of their moral principle to teaching performance. It is a correlational study that determines the significant relationship between the moral principle and the teaching performance of the engineering college advisers.

Opis:: Strength of educational system depends upon the quality pf teachers. Teachers have always been considered as one of the noblest professions. (Naz, 2016). Students are generally influenced by their teachers because they spend most of their time at school (Rahaman, 2010; Rosen, 2010). To teach students according to today’s standards, teachers need to understand subject matter deeply and flexibly so that they can help students create useful cognitive maps, relate one idea to another, and address misconceptions. Teachers need to see how ideas connect across fields and to everyday life. Teachers use suitable strategies and resources to follow instructions according to the needs of the needs of individuals and groups of students. Teachers should guide pupils learning in analyzing. Teachers should provide manifold models and explanations of concepts behaviors and skills. Teachers provide creative and critical thinking, problem solving ability, curiosity. They should know how to use various technological and communication. They should believe in change and flexibility in teaching learning process (Rahaman, 2010; Rosen, 2010).

Opis:: The study hereby proposed presents the activity of a Catholic college - Higher Theological Seminary in Koszalin in the years 1981-2011. The College came into being thanks to the efforts of Bishop Ignacy Jeż. In the above mentioned period, the college was administered by five rectors and seven administrative directors. There were 658 students (alumni) and 362 deacons, who took holy orders. During the six-year program of education, students learned the obligatory, pastoral and theological subjects as well as underwent practical training. The thesis defense took place in the fifth year of studies. The sixth year was intended for practicing and taking religious vows.

Opis:: In the historical and educational literature, there is no text, which present the history of the academic colony of the University of Cracow in Lviv from its inception in the 17th century to the next transformation at the end of the 18th century. This paper is based on manuscript archival materials collected at the Jagiellonian University, the Archbishop of Lviv, in including consistory files, and also in printed annals, published official magazines of the city of Lviv, printed works of the teaching staff and students of the colony. As a result of many years of collecting source facts, the following was reconstructed: establishment of an academic colony in 1608, directors, some auxiliary teachers, pupils’ case, their activity in the city and the church in Lviv, school building and conditions for teaching, scattered grounds for financing teachers, pupils and building maintenance school. The article is the first part of the school’s history, the archival material owned by the author, after completing the query in the Lviv city archives, allows the author to write its history in the 18th century. This is the third academic colony (Chełmno, Nowy Sącz) presenting by the author.
