Opis:
The paper presents a research study on using teaching resources at lower secondary schools in the Moravian-Silesian Region. With regard to the massive inclusion of digital resources and learning materials of an electronic nature, the research aimed to find out which educational resources are used in teaching and how. The methods of use were deduced based on the activities the teachers induce in the lessons through these resources. A qualitatively oriented research design was used, based on in-depth semi-structured interviews with 15 lower secondary school teachers who had different lengths of experience and taught different subjects. It was found that all teachers still used the core textbook but supplemented it with other printed or digital textual resources. It was possible to describe how the teachers worked with textbooks and digital resources and capture specific styles in which they initiated instructional activities with printed and digital texts.

In Latvia there are no substantial studies on bilingual preschool children’s Latvian language as the second language. The article provides an overview of the 20th–21st century linguistic theories in the context of child second language acquisition as well as raises awareness about their infl uence on and use in the learning of preschoolers whose second language is Latvian, carrying out content analysis of the Minority Preschool Education Program(with instruction in Russian), the Latvian Language Program of X preschool education establishment, teaching resources (teaching aid kits, didactic handouts) as well as the Latvian language as the second language study content.The conclusion is drawn that the theory of communicative competence and the systemic functional grammar theory prevail as well as the basic principles of the behavioral theory can be discerned. In the teaching resources and learning process it is advisable to more often incorporate the same language material repetition in different situations and new combinations. Consideration must be given to more positive and negative transfer (interference) emphasis. To prevent children’s errors it is advisable to provide and incorporate special exercises in the teaching resources as well as methodological recommendations for the Latvian language teachers.

V príspevku autori uvádzajú požiadavky kladené na materiálne vyučovacie prostriedky a ich základné funkcie (informačná, transformačná, aktivizačná a regulačná). Poukazujú na skĺbenie materiálnych didaktických prostriedkov a učební do didaktických pracovísk, ktoré zvyšujú intenzitu výučby a uvádzajú rozdelenie materiálnych vyučovacích prostriedkov vo vyučovacom procese. V prieskumnej časti článku autori dotazníkovým prieskumom zisťovali využívanie materiálnych vyučovacích prostriedkov vo vyučovacom procese na vysokých školách a univerzitách v Českej republike (393 respondentov), Slovenskej republike (208 respondentov) a v Poľsku (98 respondentov).
This article aims to show the position and dividing of material resources in teaching process. It describes them as accompaniment of teaching from the very beginning of the teaching and these reflected the level of their period. At the same time the authors state the requirements for teaching material resources and their basic functions (information, transformation, activation and regulation). In the next part of the article there is shown the joint of material didactical resources and schoolrooms for didactical departments, which increase the intensity of teaching by the fact that the teacher can prepare his practical demonstrations, experiments in advance or for example illustrate the production of the component on CNC machine programmed in advance and so on. In the exploratory part of the article the authors investigated by questionnaire survey the utilization of the teaching equipment in teaching process at colleges and universities in the Czech Republic (393 respondents), Slovak Republic (208 respondents) and Poland (98 respondents). In total 699 respondents participated in the survey.

Mobility in vocational education and training (VET) is believed to have a positive impact on the development of professional skills, key competences and language proficiency. However, there are more and more voices indicating that participation in mobility may not automatically translate into an in-creased level of intercultural and linguistic skills. To enhance the educational benefit of mobility programmes, there is a need to develop measures which offer intercultural preparation and guidance. The main purpose of this article is to present the objectives and projected outcomes of the PluriMobil project, which aims to create a coherent pedagogical instrument to help secondary vocational school teachers prepare their learners for participation in different types of learning mobility.

An important task of geographical education is thought to be the formulation of teaching objectives, the selection of contents and development of teaching methods. The primary task is then to define teaching objectives since the formulation of objectives is thought to be a decisive factor in the selection of contents and methods. All these topics constitute the subject matter of the special branch of geography distinguished by Nałkowski, namely the „school geography”, which was seen as extremely important. The article contains a comparison of contemporary geography teaching purposes according to Stanisław Zając, and those promoted by Wacław Nałkowski. The author concludes that although the modern geographical education goals are not significantly different from those formulated by Nałkowski, school reality increasingly deviates from the standards fixed by him more than a century ago. Therefore, Nałkowski is a scholar whose views are respected only officially and occasionally, especially at theoretical level. In school practice, however, there are promoted methods and manuals, which serve mainly to fill-in students’ brain with theory, and to break their natural, instinctive resistance.

Contemporary textbooks and compedia of knowledge for primary schools children and adolescents

Praca zawiera omówienie zagadnień związanych z problematyką współczesnych podręczników i kompendiów wiedzy dla uczniów szkół podstawowych. Podczas badań wykorzystano metodę analizy i krytyki piśmiennictwa oraz metodę statystyczną. Na początku zaprezentowano historię podręczników od 1945 roku, charakterystykę elementów budowy zewnętrznej, ceny, ich znaczenie na rynku wydawniczym, a także we współczesnej edukacji wczesnoszkolnej. Następnie przedstawiono analizę badań przeprowadzonych z udziałem 156 uczniów z klas od 1 do 3 szkół podstawowych, których celem był pomiar wagowy dzieci, plecaków oraz ich zawartości. Na podstawie otrzymanych wyników ustalono, iż prawie 80% badanych uczniów nosiło nadmiernie obciążone plecaki. Oprócz problematyki drukowanych podręczników szkolnych scharakteryzowano podręczniki elektroniczne, jako nowe narzędzie dydaktyczne we współczesnej szkole.
The thesis aims to present the issues related to contemporary textbooks and compendia of knowledge in the context of an elementary school students. A statistical method and critical analysis of the literature has been used to perform the studies. To begin, a history of textbooks since 1945 was presented, then characteristics of the elements, as well as their importance in the publishing market and their role in contemporary early childhood education. The work presents an analysis of the study, which aim was to measure the weight of 156 primary school children, also their backpacks with contents. Based on these results, it seems that almost 80% of the students wore overloaded backpacks. In addition to this, electronic textbooks have been characterized as a new teaching tool in the modern school.

Opis:
This article addresses the problem of professional training of future psychologists. It is assumed  that it is possible to find an optimal correlation between the acquisition of special knowledge and the formation of personal readiness of psychologists for professional activity. As demonstrated in the article,  the character of this correlation depends on the use of a specific method of teaching, and more specifically, the conception of teaching oriented towards forming certain personal qualities. For the efficient education of psychologists it is necessary to make a systemic analysis of expected personal changes in the process and as a result of teaching them. In theory we are realizing an  analysis of expected personal changes in the process and the result of teaching them in following modern conceptions of teaching: of programmed teaching, of problem-based teaching, of euristic teaching, of developing teaching, of media-education, of interactive teaching, of active social and psychological teaching, of person-oriented teaching, of experiential teaching. In this paper the author analyzes the main principles of resource-oriented teaching. Resource-oriented teaching creates the ground for the optimal combination of the requirements of professional preparation and personal development of psychology students.

The thesis is aimed at the presentation of selected problems of teaching Japanese in the Polish linguistic environment. The point of departure is contrastive presentation of the Japanese language system confronted with the structure of Polish. As the most important didactic question the Japanese honorific system was raised as the main topic of analysis from the point of view of its functions and main opposition with particular reference to manifestation of communicative roles. Views of speaker and addressee, use of personal names as well as grammaticalisation of ranks and hierarchy.
Celem niniejszej pracy jest ukazanie problemów glottodydaktycznych w nauczaniu języka japońskiego w polskim środowisku językowym. Omówiony został system grzecznościowy języka japońskiego jako jedno z różnych zagadnień nauczania. Zaprezentowane zostały najważniejsze przykłady rozróżnień w sferze honoryfikatywności oraz zasady etykiety w komunikacji interpersonalnej. Omawiając gramatyczne środki manifestowania osoby nadawcy i odbiorcy szczególną uwagę, zwrócono na użycie imion własnych w formie drugoosobowej, na partykuły zdaniowe oraz użycie wykrzykników w zdaniu japońskim. Przedmiotem opisu było, też zjawisko gramatykalizacji ról komunikacyjnych.

Any nation that cares about its future should provide the young generation with a good education. In the 21st century, it is essential to provide them with the skills and knowledge they will need to be successful innovators in the 21st century. The article analyses the main aspects of a STEM learning strategy, which provides students with an interdisciplinary approach to learning. Both the advantageous and disadvantageous issues of this learning approach are revealed in the article. The peculiarities of STEAM learning have also been emphasised. The article notes the specific practices of applying STEM/ STEAM learning in the USA, European Union and Ukraine, specified by educational and professional training programmes. Special emphasis is put on the perspectives of these approaches to education. STEM educational programme focuses on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The aim is to help better prepare students in these areas of learning and create practical applications for how these lessons apply to the real world. Lately, there has been a growing emphasis on STEAM that is a new educational discipline that engages students not only in the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math but also the Arts, which is the ability to think, discuss, dispute the problematic issues, to encourage and develop inquiry, curiosity, ability to find solutions to a problem, creativity in the finding of the necessary solutions, both practical skills and appreciation for collaborations. It is opposed to traditional teaching models and aims to bring the disciplines together. Modern STEM education promotes skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, higher-order thinking, and design and behavioural competencies such as perseverance, adaptability, cooperation, organisation, and responsibility.

Incorporating e-learning resources and activities into a university course curriculum involves restructuring the whole teaching programme to achieve a synergistic effect. It also requires the teachers to acquire appropriate knowledge and develop new skills necessary to supervise the educational process in a new and more versatile environment. The development of web 2.0 technologies has enabled educators to move from instructivism towards constructivism, constructionism and connectivism, that is towards interactive, collaborative and active learning. Not all teachers, however, realise that the shift will help them create a more effective environment. The ideas presented above will be supported by Gdansk University of Technology (GUT’s) academics’ opinions and attitudes expressed in a survey.
