Opis:: The article characterizes the main changes in the school system after 1998. The author focuses on the theses of the reform which instituted the junior secondary school. It also concerns in the new programme document which was released in 2008 (the modernisation of the school system reform). The article characterized the results of Programme for International Student Assessment. Author also focuses on the school system reform which has been implementing by the Law and Justice government since 2017. The last issues are focused on some problems in Polish school which are solved thanks to some Finnish school ideas.

Opis:: Within the field of Jungian inspirations: Education as an “impulse to full development”? The educational aims of the educational reform which is now well underway come in the form of measurable and material indicators such as the results of the external test, educational added value or test pass rate with respect to the secondary school final examinations. There is no doubt that until recently such terminology was reserved for economics. It is worth remembering that the primary aim of education, as declared in the Education Act, is “to provide an impulse to full development of each student”. By its nature, such an aim is non-measurable and intangible. The paper shows that education subordinated to external examinations is a barrier to the comprehensive development of the young as defined in Jung’s theory. Basic functions concerning reception and valuation of information in relation to the formal requirements laid down for the secondary school final examination in Polish were analysed. The nature of these requirements may lead to the dominance of sensing-thinking type in the comprehensive cognition of a human personality. Other preferences may prove useless or simply harmful. Jung’s theory helps point out that educational requirements subordinated to measurable indicators are painfully one-sided. Consequently, they pose a serious risk of developmental fragmentation.

Opis:: Edukacja w Afryce przechodzi długoletnią drogę, od tradycyjnych wierzeń plemiennych, obyczajów oraz ich praktykowania poprzez wprowadzenie nauki czytania, pisania, matematyki, nauk ścisłych i technologii po naukę języków obcych, by dostosować się do zmian w globalnym świecie. Krajem, który próbuje nadążyć za zmianami jest ponad czterdziestomilionowe państwo we wschodniej Afryce – Kenia, które pomimo wprowadzanych zmian na przestrzeni dziesięcioleci w obszarze politycznym, gospodarczym czy społecznym, ma jeszcze stosunkowo dużo do zrobienia w obszarze edukacji. Oświata stanowi jeden z najważniejszych elementów polityki państwa w aspekcie walki z ubóstwem i wykluczeniem. Pomimo trwających reform w kraju, nadal ponad milion dzieci nie uczęszcza do szkoły, a skala analfabetyzmu wynosi 14%. Artykuł stanowi prezentację systemu edukacyjnego w Kenii, z uwzględnieniem podłoża historycznego tradycji i kultury mieszkańców. Jednocześnie autorki wskazują na istotne zmiany wprowadzane przez rząd kenijski na przestrzeni lat. Jest próbą uchwycenia znaczenia edukacji w życiu społecznym i gospodarczym Kenijczyków.
The education in Africa is experiencing long-standing means, from traditional tribal beliefs of practising customs and them by implementing learning to read, writing, mathematics, sciences and of the technology for the science of foreign languages in order to accommodate oneself to the changes in the global world. The above 40 millionth state is a country which is trying to keep up with changes in the eastern Africa - Kenya, which in spite of implemented changes in the course of decades in political, economic or social area is still relatively having a lot to do in the area of education. The education constitutes one of important components of the politics of the state in the aspect of the fight against the poverty and with ruling out. In spite of the ongoing reforms in the country still over the million of children isn’t attending to school, and the scale of the illiteracy amounts to the 14%. The article constitutes the presentation of the educational system in Kenya, including the historical basis of the tradition and the culture of residents. Simultaneously is pointing at substantial changes implemented by the Kenyan government in the course of years. This is an attempt to grasp the importance of education in the social life and economic of Kenyans.

Opis:: Przedmiotem pracy jest system edukacji w Polsce, jego zmiany i sposoby finansowania. Celem jest przedstawienie obowiązującego systemu szkolnictwa przedszkolnego, wczesnoszkolnego, podstawowego, gimnazjalnego i ponadgimnazjalnego. Wykazano trendy w liczbie placówek edukacyjnych, liczbie i poziomie kwalifikacji nauczycieli oraz liczbie uczniów. Drugim głównym celem jest przedstawienie stanu i sposobu finansowania szkół. Materiał badawczy zaczerpnięto ze statystyki GUS, danych resortu, literatury problemu oraz dokumentów prawnych. Badania wykazały względną stabilizację systemu oświatowego w Polsce od ostatniej większej reformy w 1999 roku i ciągłe wprowadzanie korekt usprawniających jego funkcjonowanie. Zauważono stopniowe ograniczanie liczby placówek szkolnych, znaczny spadek liczby uczniów i poprawę kwalifikacji nauczycieli co pozwoliło podnosić poziom jakościowy oświaty mimo niejednoznacznych ocen niektórych zmian w systemie oświatowym. Mimo spadkowych tendencji w liczbie szkół i liczbie uczniów ciągle wzrastały nakłady finansowane na funkcjonowanie szkolnictwa.
The subject of the article is the educational system in Poland, its changes and mode of financing. Its aim is to present the actual educational system of preschool, early years school and primary school education forms as well as gymnasium and lyceums. The trends related to the number of education institutions, number of teachers and pupils as well as the level of teachers’ qualifications are presented. The other aim of the paper is to describe the level and mode of schools financing. The research materials were retrieved from official statistics, educational administration data, other research literature and legal documents. The research results indicate a relative stability of the educational system in Poland since the last reform in 1999 and continuous introduction of minor corrections improving its functioning. The research results points to a decreasing number of schools and population of pupils and an increasing level of quality of education. Some achievements in education are however questioned. Despite negative trends in the number of schools and pupils, an increase in educational expenditures has been noted.

Opis:: The study analyses the bases, contexts, processes, obstacles and prospects of the Slovak school system after 1989. It deals with the individual phases of the transformation process, their characteristic features and inconsistencies. Based on the primary level of education, it documents the unsystematic and inconsistent changes at the level of state policy in confrontation with the micro-level of schools and teachers. By analysing the current situation, the study points out the existing and serious limitations of real systematic changes resulting from the absence of a true contextual reform, the passivity and discouragement of teachers, as well as their university preparation.

Opis:: In recent decades, the level of music education in Polish general schools has been systematically decreasing. This results both from the lowering of the importance of music as a school subject and from the common belief that teaching music is a waste of time. Meanwhile, both neuropsychological research and observations resulting from the analysis of American data on the skill growth depending on selected school subjects indicate that systematic and practical contact with music for a minimum of two years significantly increases the intellectual abilities of young people – especially in the field of science. The author suggests increasing the role of music as a subject in the Polish public education system.

Opis:: Aim: The aim of this study is to show the evolution of the Turkish educational system, tracing its development from the Ottoman Empire simultaneously with the political and historical events. Thus, it intends to explore the conditions and requirements that played a pivotal role in shaping the current status of in Turkey. Methods: The historical review method was used to present frequent regulations applied by the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Republic in the country's educational system, and more specifically in the education of English. Results: Frequent radical changes of the last two decades in the educational system have resulted in a number of problems. Firstly, education lost its value in the eyes of students as they thought the authorities do not see the educational system as something important for the country. Secondly, there have been many concerns among teachers and school administrators regarding the implementation of the improvement projects due to some factors such as inequality in opportunities across the country, physical limitations, and budgetary constraints. In the context of Foreign Language Education (FLE), the lack of foreign language questions in the common mandatory university entrance exam (TYT), and the assessment of only passive language knowledge in the foreign language exam (YDT), led to a decline in students' motivation to learn English. Conclusions: Enhancing English proficiency prior to university admission could lead to more success in language learning experiences of students in Turkey. This approach would prevent them from wasting their time before commencing their university education and avoid challenges arising from delayed foreign language learning.

It is a truism today to state that we are facing the necessity of changing the education system and its content. Reality is developing much more rapidly than in past periods, and the future of the world, Europe, and Poland depends on whether the knowledge acquired by people will be current, adequate, and helpful in solving the real problems of tomorrow. No one today probably doubts that in such a situation, it is important to care not only about the development of knowledge and skills but also about shaping certain attitudes – relatively stable dispositions towards certain types of behavior. In the article, the author highlights the benefits of using the project method in the educational process, primarily pointing out its implications for shaping civic attitudes. The context here is the reform of the educational system in the European Union.
