Opis:: Rak płuc jest najczęstszą przyczyną zgonów z powodu nowotworów złośliwych. Pomimo rozwoju medycyny wciąż głównymi metodami walki z rakiem płuc są operacje chirurgiczne oraz radioterapia i chemioterapia, które stanowią alternatywę dla pacjentów niekwalifikujących się do zabiegu operacyjnego. W podjęciu decyzji dotyczącej zastosowania poszczególnych technik leczenia pod uwagę są brane: stadium zaawansowania choroby, stan ogólny pacjenta i choroby współistniejące. W związku z licznymi powikłaniami występującymi w przebiegu stosowania głównych metod terapii oraz brakiem pewności co do całkowitego wyleczenia opracowywane są coraz to nowsze, skuteczniejsze rozwiązania. Artykuł zawiera krótkie opisy wybranych najnowszych sposobów w terapii niedrobnokomórkowego raka płuc (NDRP), tj. radioterapii stereotaktycznej z wykorzystaniem robota Cyber Knife, chemioterapii z zastosowaniem cysplatyny, leczenia za pomocą drobnocząsteczkowych inhibitorów tyrozynowej kinazy oraz ablacji prądem o wysokiej częstotliwości radiowej (radiofrequency ablation – RFA). Wymienione techniki są znacznie skuteczniejsze niż standardowe, a ponadto obserwuje się mniejsze zagrożenie wystąpienia powikłań po ich zastosowaniu. Z dostępnego piśmiennictwa wynika, że obecnie prowadzone są badania kliniczne nad nowymi obiecującymi metodami. Działania w kierunku poszukiwania coraz to nowszych sposobów leczenia rokują na przyszłość dając nadzieję na znalezienie niezawodnej metody, pozwalającej na całkowity powrót do zdrowia chorych ze zdiagnozowanym rakiem płuc.
Lung cancer is the leading cause of death from cancer. Despite the development of medicine is still the main methods of struggle with lung cancer are surgery and radiotherapy and chemotherapy, an alternative for patients ineligible for surgery. The decision regarding the use of various treatment techniques are taken into account: stage of disease, general condition of the patient and concomitant diseases. Following a number of complications occurring in the course of the main ways of treatment and the lack of certainty as to cure the disease are developed newer, more effective solutions. The article contains brief descriptions of the latest methods in the treatment of small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), ie, stereotactic radiotherapy using a robot Cyber Knife, chemotherapy with cisplatin, treatment with small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors and the ablation of high-frequency RF (Radiofrequency Ablation – RFA). These techniques are much more effective than standard, and also observed a lower risk of complications after their use. The available literature shows that current clinical trials are ongoing to develop new promising methods. Efforts to search for newer and newer therapies hold promise for the future by giving hope to find a reliable method that allows for complete recovery of patients diagnosed with lung cancer.

Opis:: Many branches of science and academic disciplines such as psychology, linguistics or medicine fuel interest in developmental dyslexia by proposing a variety of theories attempting to determine what causes dyslexia and how dyslexia influences the acquisition of a foreign. For this particular reason, a foreign language teacher must not only be equipped with a sound methodological knowledge but also familiar with current approaches to dyslexia. The main tenet of this article is that dyslexia-related difficulties have a tremendous impact on second language learning, which necessitates the inclusion of specially adapted techniques and instruction.

Opis:: Artykuł prezentuje rekomendacje dotyczące zarówno diagnozowania i terapii przestępców seksualnych o niskim poziomie intelektualnym. Grupa ta wymaga odrębnych metod diagnostycznych, natomiast mogą być wobec niej stosowane te same metody terapii, które są skuteczne wobec przestępców bez trudności intelektualnych. Życie seksualne osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną jest trudniejsze i bardziej skomplikowane niż ich funkcjonowanie w innych obszarach życia. W przypadku zachowań dewiacyjnych na tle seksualnym pogarsza się ich społeczny odbiór, wzrasta ostracyzm społeczny a jednocześnie spada ich własna samoocena. Artykuł przedstawia kilka metod diagnozy ryzyka zachowań niezgodnych z prawem i obyczajem oraz prawdopodobieństwa ponownego wystąpienia zabronionych zachowań, które były udziałem diagnozowanych osób. Prezentowanymi metodami terapeutycznymi są Dawny Ja / Nowy Ja (Old Me / New Me) – metoda terapii grupowej, popularna i skuteczna w uczeniu osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną oceniania zachowań właściwych i niewłaściwych. Drugą jest Model Dobrego Życia (Good Life Model). Kolejną jest metoda służąca wydobyciu i wzmacnianiu dobrych cech, obecnych w każdej jednostce.
This article presents recommendations for both the diagnosis and therapy of sex offenders with low intellectual capacity. Although this group requires separate diagnostic methods, the same therapeutic methods can be used with them as the ones which are effective for offenders without intellectual difficulties. The sexual life of people with intellectual disabilities is more difficult and complicated than their functioning in other areas of life. In the case of sexual deviant behaviour, their social perception deteriorates, social ostracism increases and, at the same time, theirself-esteem decreases. This article presents several methods of diagnosingthe risk of illegal and inappropriate behaviours and the likelihood of reoccurrence of prohibited behaviours experienced by the diagnosed persons.The presented therapeutic methods are Old Me / New Me – a group therapy method, popular and effective in teaching people with intellectual disabilities to evaluate appropriate and inappropriate behaviours. The second method is the Good Life Model. Yet another one is a method used to reveal and reinforce the good qualities present in each individual.

The Effectiveness of Stuttering Therapy Methods in The Assessment of Stuttering Adults

Opis:: This paper describes the results of a study, which was aimed at identifying the opinions of adults who stutter on the effectiveness of stuttering therapies in Poland. In order to do so, I carried out a survey, using questionnaires, created by me. The study addressed issues such as: the respondents' knowledge about the available methods of stuttering therapy, the goals of undertaking such therapies, the assessment of effectiveness and level of satisfaction with previous therapies, the problem of curable stuttering and the role of support groups in the therapeutic process. In addition, this paper presents the current state of research on stuttering in the sphere of diagnosis and therapy.
W niniejszej pracy opisano wyniki badania, które było ukierunkowane na rozpoznanie opinii dorosłych osób jąkających się na temat skuteczności terapii jąkania w Polsce. W tym celu zostało przeprowadzone badanie sondażowe, z wykorzystaniem autorskich kwestionariuszy ankiet. W badaniu poruszono kwestie takie jak: wiedza respondentów na temat dostępnych metod terapii jąkania, cele podjęcia terapii, ocena skuteczności i poziomu satysfakcji z przebytych terapii, problem wyleczalności jąkania oraz rola grup samopomocowych w procesie terapeutycznym. Ponadto, praca przedstawia aktualny stan badań nad jąkaniem w zakresie diagnozy i terapii.

Opis:: Dzieci urodzone przedwcześnie znajdują się w grupie ryzyka dzieci, u których mogą wystąpić czynniki negatywnie oddziałujące na ich rozwój psychoruchowy, emocjonalny, społeczny. W wypadku cięższych powikłań, spowodowanych uszkodzeniami OUN, dochodzi do poważnych patologii obserwowanych już w pierwszych miesiącach życia dziecka. Często jednak następstwa wcześniactwa odczuwane są dopiero w późniejszych latach – na etapie rozwoju przedszkolnego czy szkolnego. Dlatego tak ważne jest, aby dzieci przedwcześnie urodzone były pod opieką neurologopedów już na oddziale neonatologicznym, a później miały możliwość uczęszczania na terapię do gabinetów logopedycznych. W artykule zwrócono uwagę na to, kiedy warto skorzystać z pomocy logopedy. Wyjaśniono, czy wizyty mają mieć charakter konsultacyjny, czy też ciągły, w postaci regularnej terapii. Pokazano też niejednorodną grupę dzieci i młodzieży, które uczestniczyły w zajęciach logopedycznych, wskazano metody (także te wspomagające) stosowane podczas terapii oraz krótko scharakteryzowano wybrane działania logopedy w obszarze funkcji prymarnych (pobór pokarmu) i sekundarnych (mówienie).
Children born prematurely are in the risk group of children who may experience factors negatively affecting their psychomotor, emotional, social development. In the case of more severe complications, caused by CNS damage, there are serious pathologies observed already in the first months of a child’s life. However, often the consequences of prematurity are felt only in later years - at the stage of preschool or school development. That’s why it’s so important that babies born prematurely are cared for by neurologists already in the neonatal ward, and later have the opportunity to attend speech therapy clinics. The article points out when it is appropriate to seek the help of a speech therapist. It was explained whether the visits should be consultative or continuous, in the form of regular therapy. The heterogeneous group of children and adolescents who participated in speech therapy classes is also shown, the methods (including supportive ones) used during therapy are indicated, and selected speech therapist activities in the area of primal (food intake) and secundal (speaking) functions are briefly characterized. Opis:: This article brings up the issue of communication difficulties for people with various disabilities. In the theoretical part it widely explains the rise and development of alternative and supportive methods of communication, and it describes various forms of non-verbal means of communicating. The second part of this article constitutes a case study of a thirteen-year-old mute girl who was taught communicating with application of non-verbal methods, and it also includes a short description of the methods used in working with the child. Opis:: Rozważaniom niniejszej pracy magisterskiej została poddana terapia logopedyczna dzieci z zaburzeniami ze spektrum autyzmu, a w głównej mierze praca ta dotyczy oceny skuteczności poszczególnych metod i technik terapeutycznych w opinii logopedów w Polsce. Na podstawie literatury naukowej polskiej i zagranicznej oraz późniejszych badań kwestionariuszowych przeprowadzonych z udziałem 50 logopedów wyłonione zostały jedne z najpopularniejszych metod terapii stosowanych na świecie oraz w Polsce. Badania miały na celu pozyskanie wiedzy na temat obecnego postępowania tych specjalistów z dziećmi z autyzmem w Polsce, ich podejścia do programowania terapii, stosowanych metod oraz znajomości rozmaitych rodzajów terapii w zależności od różnych czynników. W badaniach podjęto również próbę oceny efektywności poszczególnych metod w terapii i wykazania najskuteczniejszych z nich. Poruszono także kwestię „uleczalności” autyzmu oraz ujawniono stanowisko logopedów względem tej tezy, jak również przedstawiono najbardziej problematyczne w terapii cechy specyficzne dla dzieci z autyzmem. Uzyskane w badaniach rezultaty dowodzą m.in., że autyzmu nie można „wyleczyć”, natomiast w odniesieniu do standardów postępowania terapeutycznego, w przeważającej mierze specjalistów logopedii cechuje postawa zindywidualizowanego podejścia do dziecka i łączenia różnorodnych metod oddziaływania. Większość ankietowanych opowiedziała się za metodą behawioralną, choć ogółem jej skuteczność była skrajnie oceniana. Najbardziej znaną i ocenianą najwyżej metodą była Integracja Sensoryczna.
This MA thesis revolves around the speech therapy for children with autism spectrum disorders and its main subject has to do with the assessment as regards the effectiveness of individual therapeutic methods and techniques based on the opinion of Polish speech therapists. On the basis of Polish and foreign scientific literature and subsequent questionnaire research in which 50 speech therapists participated, some of the most popular methods of therapies used in the world and in Poland have been selected. The research aims at collecting the data and acquiring the knowledge of the current approach of these specialists to Polish children suffering from autism, their methods as for the therapy programming as well as various types of therapy depending on multifarious factors. The thesis also attempts to evaluate the effectiveness of individual methods in therapy and to demonstrate the most effective ones. The issue of the "curability" of autism and the attitude of speech therapists in relation to this notion were discussed as well as the most problematic features specific to children with autism. The results obtained in the study prove, among others, that autism cannot be "cured" and the majority of speech therapists are characterized by an attitude of an individualized approach to the child supported by various methods of interaction as far as the standards of therapeutic treatment are concerned. Most of the respondents were in favor of the behavioral method although its effectiveness was not highly assessed. The Sensory Integration turned out to be the best known and the highest rated method.

Opis:: The aim of this thesis was to present the problem related to mental sphere of certain professional groups which are exposed to a high level of stress stimuli the most. The purpose of this work was to indicate the key factors that have a direct impact on frequent occurrence of PTSD. This works also contains examples of judicial judgements on soldiers taking part in international peace missions abroad, whose detrimental nature could have an impact on the development of behavioural disorders. In the end there were described diagnostic methods and procedures showing the greatest effectiveness of PTSD treatment at both European and American levels.
Niniejsza praca stanowi próbę przedstawienia problemu związanego ze sferą psychiczną określonych grup zawodowych, które są często narażone na wysoki wskaźnik występowania reakcji stresowych. Celem pracy jest wykazanie najistotniejszych czynników, które mają bezpośredni wpływ na występowanie zaburzenia jakim jest PTSD. Praca zawiera ponadto przykłady wyroków sądowych, których ofiarami stali się żołnierze uczestniczący w misjach poza granicami kraju. Często takie krzywdzące wyroki mogą stanowić przesłankę do zainicjowania zaburzenia. Na koniec zostały przedstawione metody i sposoby wykazujące największą skuteczność przy leczeniu zarówno na poziomie europejskim jak i amerykańskim.
