Opis:: This paper aims at comparing transportational infrastructure in chosen UE countries. Two synthetic measures have been used to evaluate and order the objects under consideration: one based on Hellwig’s proposition and the other based on standarised sum method. There have been used 16 diagnostic variables in years 2003 - 2006. The conclusion of the reaserch is that Poland and Greece have had the worsest, of 20 countries under consideration, infrastructure.

Opis:: W artykule omówiono najważniejsze zagadnienia transportowe w kontekście przystąpienia Polski do Unii Europejskiej. Transport jest w nim traktowany nie jako oddzielna dziedzina, ale jako część systemu gospodarowania przestrzenią. Punktem wyjścia są wzrastające wraz ze wzrostem PKB przewozy osób i towarów (szerzej potrzeby transportowe). Skutkiem tego konieczny jest rozwój systemów transportowych, w szczególności infrastruktury transportowej. Rozwój ten winien uwzględniać dążenie do spójności terytorialnej Europy, zachowanie rynkowych reguł konkurencji przewoźników z równoczesnym sterowaniem podziałem zadań transportowych pod kątem rozwoju zrównoważonego. Narzędziem realizacji jest wspólna europejska polityka transportowa i stanowienie odpowiednich regulacji prawnych w tym dotyczących finansowania infrastruktury.
This paper contains a discussion of the most essential ransportation issues in the context of the Polish membership in the European Union. Transportation is treated here not as a separate industry, but rather as part of the spatial economy system. The starting point is the increasing transportation of people and cargo proportionally to the increase of GNP (indicated larger transportation needs). Consequently, further development of transportation systems is required, especially that of infrastructure. Such development should take into account the need of European territorial cohesion and observation of market competition 41 rules among transportation companies, with control over the subdivision of transportation tasks to attain sustainable development. The implementation instruments are the joint European transportation policy and the provision of proper legal regulations, including those concerning infrastructure financing.

Opis:: This study seeks to develop a conceptual model for increasing the productivity of a province in Indonesia. Based on trade facilities, it is hoped that it will become a key factor or strategy to increase trade that is oriented towards increasing the productivity of the provinces in Indonesia. Model In this study, in 34 provinces in Indonesia using secondary time series data and primary cross-sectional data. Self-data analysis using Amos 25 And from the results of data analysis all hypotheses proposed in this study is accepted, it shows that trade facilities are a key strategy for increasing trade and its orientation towards productivity growth of the gross regional domestic product.

Opis:: Pierwsza dekada członkostwa Polski w strukturach Unii Europejskiej była dla wielu miast w Polsce, w tym także dla Poznania, okresem modernizacji i rozbudowy systemu publicznego transportu zbiorowego. Dzięki inwestycjom współfinansowanymze środków przeznaczonych na realizację wspólnotowej polityki spójności i polityki regionalnej dokonano w Poznaniu dużych zakupów taboru tramwajowego i autobusowego. Ponadto powstały trzy nowe trasy tramwajowe, nowoczesna zajezdnia tramwajowa oraz zmodernizowana została część istniejących torowisk. Następowały również zmiany w sferze organizacyjnej transportu publicznego, które prowadzą m.in. do integracji różnych gałęzi transportu w granicach aglomeracji poznańskiej. Wszystko to przyczyniło się do pozytywnej zmiany wizerunku publicznego transportu zbiorowego w mieście.
Transportation is one of the domains of economy in which Poland, due to its accession to the EU in 2004, is obliged to adhere to the EU law. Sustainable development has been the paramount objective of the EU sectoral policies and thus the EU is the driving force in undertakings which aim at sustainable development of transportation. EU transportation policy encourages development of economic, safe and eco-friendly transportation. For this reason, the EU strongly supports all undertakings which lead to the improvement of public transportation in agglomerations. Well-organised and dependable public transportation definitely improves the quality of city life and it may contribute to the reduction of crowd and improvement of the environment.The tendency to modernise comprehensively urban systems of public transportation has arrived to Poland from Western Europe. The processes have been initiated by the possibility of subsidising public transportation projects thanks to substantial amount of money from the EU funds. The money allotted for implementation of cohesion policy and regional development policy has clearly changed the image of public transportation in many Polish cities. By dint of these policies, it has become possible to initiate long-delayed investments, i.e. not only the purchase of a fleet of new trams and buses, but also modernisation and development of transportation infrastructure.For Poznań, the first decade of Poland’s EU membership has turned out to be a period of modernisation of the system of public transportation and possibility to buy modern low-floor trams and busses. Curiously, a company from the Wielkopolska voivodeship has won the tender to deliver the fleet three times, thereby strengthening its position on the market. Moreover, three new tram lines have been constructed. The first one, which crosses the city centre, has contributed to the optimization of the tram network and the revitalization of urban spaces. The second one has been built on the outskirts of the city and owing to the fact that in almost half of its length it passes through the tunnel, it is separated from the road traffic. The third one ensures fast and direct transport from the Northern districts of Poznań to the vicinity of main railway station.Apart from that, Poznań has undergone the following changes concerning the organisation of public transportation: separation of the organiser and the carrier of transportation; integration of railway, tram and bus transportation both in the city area and within the agglomeration; introduction of the flexible tariff and modern system of fees. Currently, the authorities of Poznań are planning subsequent investments in the development of public transportation, which can be subsidised in the new budget perspective of the EU.

Opis:: The thesis deals with the organization of the public transport in Poland, both by the state and local government. It was proved that the quality of the roads and railways is unsatisfactory and it requires substantial investment in new and existing infrastructure. The governments’ plans of public transport development till 2013 seems to be too ambitious and its realization is impossible. The local governments in Poland have a possibility to give away their competence of public transport organization to an external body which is called the Transportation Union of Local Governments. A case study analysis was used to prove the work’s thesis. Such unions may be an efficient alternative of public transport organization in Poland.
Praca dotyczy zagadnień związanych z organizacją transportu publicznego na obszarze całego kraju oraz przez gminy w Polsce. Wykazano, że stan infrastruktury transportowej, drogowej i kolejowej jest bardzo zły, co sprawia, że koniecznym jest podejmowanie poważnych inwestycji w nową, jak i dotychczasową infrastrukturę. Wykazano, że plany rozwoju infrastruktury transportowej w Polsce do 2013 roku były bardzo ambitne, a ich realizacja jest praktycznie niemożliwa. Pokazano również sposób organizacji transportu publicznego przez jednostki samorządu terytorialnego, które scedowały swoje kompetencje na komunikacyjne związki międzygminne. W pracy wykorzystano analizę studium przypadku dla potwierdzenia postawionych tez. W zakresie organizacji transportu publicznego przez gminy wykazano, że komunikacyjne związki międzygminne mogą być atrakcyjną alternatywą w odniesieniu do samodzielnego organizowania transportu przez gminy.

Opis:: Due to the need for further expansion of a gas pipeline network and more efficient maintenance of available spatial data on the gas pipeline infrastructure, the management of gas transportation system operator has decided to extend the existing information system for the management of gas infrastructure by introducing location intelligence, i.e. its upgrading with the functional WebGIS solution. This paper describes the approach for developing the solution by using open source software components. The implemented WebGIS solution enables environmental monitoring in relation to safe natural gas transport, helps in planning and maintaining the gas pipeline network, and provides location-conscious decisionmaking on various aspects of the gas infrastructure management.
Wzrastające zapotrzebowanie na kompleksowe i rozbudowane sieci przesyłowe gazu ziemnego oraz konieczność wprowadzenia bardziej wydajnego utrzymania danych przestrzennych dotyczących owej infrastruktury przesyłowej wpłynęły na podjęcie przez zarządcę infrastruktury decyzji o rozbudowie dotychczasowej infrastruktury o dodatkowe elementy związane z możliwością wykorzystania inteligentnych systemów lokalizacyjnych bądź odpowiednio rozbudowę istniejących elementów o rozwiązania funkcjonalne oparte na WebGIS. W niniejszym artykule opisano podejście koncepcyjne omawianego rozwiązania z wykorzystaniem komponentów programistycznych typu open source. Wdrożone rozwiązanie WebGIS umożliwia monitorowanie bezpieczeństwa przesyłu gazu ziemnego oraz związanego z nim wpływu na środowisko naturalne, pomaga w planowaniu i utrzymaniu sieci przesyłowej oraz podnosi skuteczność podejmowania świadomych decyzji dotyczących różnych aspektów zarządzania infrastrukturą gazową w odniesieniu do aspektów lokalizacyjnych.

This thesis presents problems related to the bicycle transportation (particularly its city’s infrastructure), accessibility for the residents to bicycle roads, and their quality. It also presents construction plans and financial solutions adopted by the Management Board Municipal Infrastructure and Transport in Krakow for the coming years. The prospects for improving transportation, which is extremely popular from the eco point of view.The methods for the solutions used in bicycle transportation by the leaders i.e. Netherlands, Denmark, France are compared to city of Krakow.

Opis:: Efficient transportation infrastructure is pivotal for the seamless functioning of global cities, with coastal cities facing unique challenges due to environmental peculiarities. This study delves into how Lagos' environmental peculiarities impact transportation infrastructure performance, shedding light on both positive and negative implications. A comprehensive survey involving 1284 residents within Lagos Metropolis was conducted using multistage sampling techniques. A combination of descriptive (percentage and mean-weighted analysis) and inferential (Fisher’s exact test and Phi Cramer's V Test) statistics was adopted for data analysis. Major findings revealed that the environmental peculiarities in Lagos foster the use of multimodal infrastructure options and concurrently exert adverse effects on various facets of transportation infrastructure performance, including travel cost, commuting time, fare charges, wear and tear of infrastructure, and the overall cost of maintenance and repairs. The results of the Fisher’s exact test underscore the undeniable impact of Lagos' environmental peculiarities on transportation infrastructure performance (p = 0.000 < 0.05). This study concludes that high water tables, as a representative environmental peculiarity, substantially influence transportation infrastructure performance, shaping the mobility needs of residents. In light of these findings, the study advocates for the full implementation of sustainable infrastructure solutions. Recommendations include establishing robust drainage systems, incorporating corrosion-resistant materials, and adopting innovative technologies to mitigate the repercussions of rising sea levels on critical transportation infrastructure, enhancing its resilience in the face of environmental challenges.
