Opis:: W artykule dokonana została analiza kierunków rozwoju Katowickiego Węzła Kolejowego jako elementu Transeuropejskiej Sieci Transportowej (TEN-T). Katowice, zgodnie z Rozporządzeniem UE 1315/2013, są jednym z 8 węzłów miejskich sieci TEN-T tworzących szkielet systemu kolejowego w Polsce. Krajowy system jest ważną częścią europejskiego systemu kolejowego ze względu na duży polski potencjał demograficzny i gospodarczy ale także z racji szczególnego położenia Polski na skrzyżowaniu głównych szlaków transportowych Europy. System węzłów miejskich sieci TEN-T odzwierciedla system powiązań społeczno-gospodarczych pomiędzy regionami ale także jest katalizatorem dla dalszego rozwoju systemów transportowych, zwłaszcza w obliczu kształtowania się nowych powiązań gospodarczych w skali globalnej. Kluczowe znaczenie dla osiągnięcia celów sieci TEN-T mają działania w kierunku budowy optymalnej funkcjonalnie struktury tych węzłów, wśród których znajduje się Węzeł Katowicki, jako integratorów wewnętrznych regionów, które one obsługują. W założeniach koncepcji TEN-T społeczności lokalne dzięki węzłom TEN-T mają uzyskać dostęp do nowoczesnej sieci transportowej i zdyskontować go dla rozwoju regionalnego.
The article analyses the development of the Katowice Railway Node as part of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). In accordance with EU Regulation 1315/2013, Katowice is one of the 8 urban nodes of the TEN-T network forming the backbone of the railway system in Poland. The national system is an important part of the European railway system due to the large Polish demographic and economic potential but also because of the special location of Poland at the intersection of major European transport routes. The urban node system of the TEN-T network reflects the system of socio-economic links between regions, but it is also a catalyst for the further development of transport systems, especially in the face of shaping new economic connections on a global scale. The key to achieving the goals of the TEN-T network are activities towards building a functionally optimal structure of these nodes, including the Katowice Node, as integrators of the internal regions they service. In the assumptions of the TEN-T concept, local communities, thanks to TEN-T nodes, are to gain access to the modern transport network and discount it for regional development.

Moving the customs border of the European Union on to the line of the Bug river and the appearance of foreign investors in the eastern Poland in the impact area of the No.2 international transport corridor has created new opportunities for development in the recent years. This article aims to characterize logistical centres and their potential on the example of eastern Poland’s No. 2. transport corridor’s area. The analysis of the nature and function of the logistical centre leads the author to derive his own definition of a logistical centre.

Opis:: This article discusses the possibility of optimizing a particular postal transportation network within the scope of the main mail processing and distribution centres in Žilina, one of four main mail processing and distribution centres of the national postal operator in Slovakia – Slovenská pošta (referred to here, in English, as the Slovak Post). The authors compare the 3-level model of postal transportation network with the 4-level model of postal transportation network that is currently used in areas other than Žilina. When comparing both models, the authors also takes into account the processing operations of postal items required before the mail is delivered to its addressee – both models accept the technological procedures of processing and handling postal items. In addition, the authors of the presented article solves the allocated task through the construction of the distance matrix to find out if the actual location of the main mail processing and distribution centre and its facilities in the city of Žilina is optimal, from the point of view of transportation distance from this centre and the other supporting processing centres located at the second and third levels respectively within the analysed postal transportation network models.

Opis:: Applications of VANET (Vehicular ad hoc Networks) networks is focused on monitoring of the safety states of vehicles or roadway by exchanging messages between vehicles and infrastructure so that the applications will be able to help a driver to handle insecure situations. They are able to warn before possible risks which can occur during the process of transportation. Essential tool for assuring of safety communications within developed applications of intelligent transportations systems are cryptography constructions on the basis of digital signature schemes. In order to assuring safety and anonymity within vehicular communications are used pseudorandom authentications methods. The authors in the paper are focused on realization of mathematical model and description of modified cryptographic constructions which are suitable for sensor networks and applications orientated to memory and performance. In these systems it is very important to use signature scheme which do not have only computational safety but must also be effective from the view of performance and must generate short digital signatures in order to communications in real time conditions.
